This is our second time staying here. Cottage is clean, well maintained, comfortable and Jolene does an excellent job making sure our basic needs are covered. Upstate New York is beautiful in the fall. Cottage is centrally located for exploring and a quiet place to kickback and relax.
This guest house was perfect in every way. Location, cleanliness, quietness, amenities, lovely place to stay.I would highly recommend this property to anyone. Looking forward to our next stay.
This was the perfect retreat for me. Very peaceful. Loved walking the property. And Jolene went above and beyond in hospitality and helpfulness. I highly recommend this property.
A friend and I stayed here for a girls birthday weekend and we loved it! The check in process is super easy, the cabin is clean and cozy and it sits on a quiet country road. It is not too far from town, as well! Jolene is responsive and she checked in with us several times to see how we were doing. I would absolutely stay here again.
We loved our stay which was a trip to celebrate my birthday. Jolene and Grady were wonderful hosts - they had fresh, homemade (and delicious!) muffins ready for us and even a “Happy Birthday” balloon! The cottage is so charming, has everything you need to relax, enjoy, and feel at home! W
The guest house was everything we hoped for, and more - clean, spacious and beautiful area. Communication with Jolene was excellent. She provided us with lots of information about what was happening in the area, and a list of restaurants, so that we could maximize our first visit to the area. My wife and I both agree that we would stay here again in a heartbeat.
My daughter and I were in town for the HITS horse show. The guest house is lovely. It is clean and the owners have thought of everything you could need. The property is beautiful with a stream running through it. We enjoyed dipping our feet in after a long day. Jolene was very responsive and checked in on us throughout our stay. I highly recommend staying here and would again if we are in town.
The house is exactly as pictured. The property is lovely, and just the right amount of secluded without being remote. And Jolene is an excellent host. Her guide to local restaurants, store, hiking trails, etc is thorough but not overwhelming. There was enough communication to make us feel cared for but spare enough not to intrude. Highly recommended!
Lovely property and exactly what we hoped for and more than we expected. The location is central to good food and good hiking, yet is private and out of the way. The house was generously stocked and very comfortable: A rainy day was a blessing because we were happy to hang out at home and read and play games. Jolene is a terrific host, thoughtful and very helpful. We’re looking forward to another visit.
This charming guest house adjacent to the 1800's main house was a perfect central location to Saugerties, Woodstock and Kaaterskill falls/Forest. The guest house was well equipped and furnished for a two-three day visit. Owners were kind, responsive and respectful of our privacy. Although the main house is just a few steps away from the guest house, the owners were gone the majority of the day. This pet friendly policy is an added bonus and difficult to find. As a responsible dog owner with a travel seasoned pet, kudos to those home owners such as these, who provide a haven and location for travelers who bring their four legged family members along. We would definitely recommend this home and location.
This is our second time staying here and it was just as perfect as the first time. Jolene is one of the best hosts we have ever had. Her attention to detail and generosity with the little things she leaves for you is second to none. The property is absolutely gorgeous. If you stay here make sure you venture into the back where there is a beautiful creek that you can just sit relax and listen to the running water. It’s very peaceful. If you can handle the cold water you can take a dip in the creek as well. I highly recommend booking this cottage!!! Thank you again Jolene! We will be back again to share this little getaway with our daughter.
We came to the Saugerties area to do a short fall getaway. The leaf colors we're magnificent. We stayed in the guest house, which was lovely and had all the comforts of home. All together a peaceful and beautiful trip. Jolene, our host, made us feel welcome and went out of her way to be helpful, including mailing me my set of house keys that fell on the floor by the bed and I did not notice we're missing till we arrived home. Thank you Jolene! t
This property is by far the best rental my wife and I have had. From the moment walking in, the residence felt like a home-away-from-home. Snacks and food in the refrigerator along with fresh cupcakes, fruits, and flowers greeted us. As opposed to some places we have stayed, this site had everything from all the kitchen appliances, utensils, towels, etc. that one could conceivably want. Extra towels and pillows/covers were available. Mostly though, little touches such as the antique hardware on the doors, the wide plank floors, and decor made this house so inviting. The landscaping was fabulous and the stream behind the main house was sparkling. We had several texts to and from the owner who we were able to meet - responses were immediate and she and her husband were wonderful to meet. If I could say more superlatives in this brief review, I would add them! This is the place to stay if you are in the Woodstock, NY area!
This is a great place to stay. It’s located conveniently for the area. It is also a really neat place and Jolene is a joy. We can’t wait to book again!!
Sparkling clean, comfortable cabin on a huge lush green lawn. Convenient to wonderful hiking, and the towns of Woodstock and Saugerties. The fully stocked kitchen even included some delightful treats: fresh muffins, eggs, yogurts, cookies, and raspberries! Communication was prompt and helpful. Excellent stay!
The accommodations were perfect and a wonderful getaway for us! Jolene was also very welcoming and we couldn’t have asked for anything better! Picturesque and relaxing! 💕
I can’t say enough. Wonderful, warm, kind and generous hosts. The place is cozy, the property and area is beautiful. I look forward to going back. Thank you

About the host
Hosted by Jolene Adams
We are artists in the field of film and theatre. After years of city living both in NYC and LA, we have finally realized our dream of buying a home in the country with a guest house for our large family and artist friends who want to retreat from their busy worlds to write, paint, rehearse new works or just enjoy the sights and rest.
Why they chose this property
We have been looking for the right place for five years and dreaming of the right place for many more. We knew we wanted an old stone house on enough acreage to feel away from it all but close enough to people so we wouldn't be isolated. Close enough to NYC but far away enough to be in the country. We wanted lots of old trees. And, if it wasn't too much to hope for, some water on the property too. When we saw the incredible BlueMountain House built in 1793 with it's sweet guest house, both newly renovated, it was love at first sight!
What makes this property unique
Both the main house and the guest house are beautifully and loving restored. The landscape design is very special, so natural and rustically sophisticated if that makes any sense! Our favorite thing is sitting outside with our morning coffee and watching the birds and the occasional chipmunk or deer forage nearby.
