Not as advertised
I decided that it’s best to be honest if it helps another family avoid the experience that we had. The interior was as beautiful as the pictures and it was clean overall. I noticed there was food on the oven mitt, the baking sheet was covered in hardened grease, and there were bulbs missing in the bedroom ceiling light (literally missing). I struggled with one lock on the exterior handle as it might need replacing. However, the issue was the location itself. It’s not like the neighborhood photos at all! We were above a car and window decal store, and many close storefronts were empty. The first night, the police and road crew rang the doorbell asking me to move my car to another block so they could pave in front of the apartment for 2 nights. We spent those nights listening to construction trucks and beeping from 1-3am. On the third night, we arrived to find the area was closed for a block party with a loud band outside our window. It took 20 minutes of navigating one way streets and blocked intersections to find a place to leave my car. On the fourth night, we woke up to car doors slamming and a group of young men yelling and swearing f and n words at each other in the street. The area had a very different and uncomfortable vibe after the shops closed each night at 5pm. Lots of loud cars (exhaust and music) and people yelling. I’ve traveled alone with my daughter for horse events before and this was the first time I felt unsafe. We couldn’t wait to leave on our last morning!
The apartment was adorable and in the center of Paris. But if I had known we had to climb 25 stairs I would not have booked - since I had two knee surgeries this year.
Beautiful large apartment, tastefully furnished, very clean, lots of towels, anything you could need , great shower, smart TV, across the street from a great coffee shop, parking on the street, beautiful old building but steep staircase...we are over 75 and it was OK for us.
The property was as advertised. Extremely clean. You can tell that the old building has been updated, as there were plenty of outlets. A narrow entry stairway was a bit musty, but the apartment was fresh and clean. The heating/AC unit was quickly responsive. Appliances are modern. The shower is small enough that larger people may have trouble washing their feet. There is street noise, but there isn’t much activity in Paris at night. The town doesn’t offer much but is an easy 20-30 minute drive to all the major thoroughbred attractions. I’d recommend the Chinese restaurant down the block. The massage therapist is now 2 blocks away in a creepy building but she gave a good massage. Overall a nice property. Nice coffee shop across the street but it doesn’t open until 8-9 AM and wasn’t open Saturday evening.
We had the pleasure of staying in this adorable Parisian apt for four nights in August. We had everything we could possibly need for our stay. Very clean, nicely furnished apartment with nice, comfortable bed. A great location with cute cafes, coffee house, and boutiques along Main Street. Closed on Sun and Mon. It’s on the 2nd floor with no elevator but well worth the climb. Laundry room at end of hall too. Would recommend this hidden gem in Paris, Ky!!
We had a great time in Paris and neighboring area. This location and venue were a great place to stay. Clean, comfortable and charming. If you are in Paris, KY we recommend. Be sure to make it to the Farmer's Market on Saturday just around the corner and to Lil's for quiche or Tomato Pie
This little apartment is one of the best places I’ve stayed. It was tastefully and artistically decorated, including local art and antiques. I had the sense of where I was in KY and yet still felt completely at home. The morning light was spectacular on those gorgeous hard wood floors. The bed was comfy and tons of pillows and throw blankets made it even more cozy. The air conditioning worked great which was surprising to me for an old building. The only thing to be aware of, which is no one’s fault and to be expected, is that this apartment is right on Main St so you do hear some street noise. This wasn’t disruptive to anything though. We really loved staying here and would recommend this place to anyone.
With an infant, we needed a little more space and a kitchen than a standard hotel room could provide. This was a much better value and the perfect rental for our stay! We booked it fairly last minute and received confirmation and checkin information almost immediately. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Thank you!
It was a special weekend for me and my family; my son Owen married a Paris hometown girl, Morgan Maynard. The property was perfect for my family! The charming apartment made the occasion even more perfect. Thanks!!!
We came for the Land Rover 3 day event, but volunteered ahead of time so stayed here for over a week. The town of Paris is lovely and quaint. At least 2-3 places to eat within walking distance, and a Walmart and other retailers a 5 minute drive away. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. It was absolutely perfect! Thank you!!
We needed a place convenient to Paris, Kentucky and the claiborne Farm to move our daughter. This was an absolute gem of a location, literally within walking distance of where my daughter was going to be living the next several months. The place was perfect for a husband and wife, and I'm sure it could accommodate one more person in the additional room. But for our needs, it was perfect.
We picked Paris because it was the closest to Claiborne Farms. Apartment is great and pics are a true depiction. It was quiet and the bed is great. If you’re sensitive to street noise (really not that much at all) and go to bed early, bring a fan! We enjoyed shopping at Lochlea Antiques, eating breakfast at Lil’s, iced coffee at Happy Coffee Prople, trying a beer/drink at the Thorn & Rose and a great steak at Trackside. We also toured Hartfield Bourbon Distillery. Everything within walking distance. Drive to take a tour of Claiborne Farms and Spendthrift Farms. They were the highlights of our trip! Owner very nice and available to answer any questions.
Came to town for our granddaughter’s wedding. Booked this site because it was close to the event. Perfect place for me and my husband. Only problem was I wasn’t sure about the coffee pot, wether it was a regular or if it was a Keurig. It was a regular and I brought pods. No problem because there are two great places to get coffee and good eats. Ill’s Coffee House and the Happy People Coffee company. If I’m back there again I will definitely be staying and exploring more of the .
We had family come in for a graduation party and they stayed in this studio apartment. It was absolutely lovely and very well appointed. There are coffee shops in the area and a nice arboretum a couple of blocks away for the 4 legged family members. 10/10 would recommend!
Our stay was short and sweet and so much better than the hotel we usually stay in. Ron was a wonderful communicator, everything was exactly as pictured. The downtown apartment was so homey and lovely. We will definitely stay again!!!
This is the second time I have stayed here and the property is in a perfect location on the Main Street of Paris KY across the street from 2 breakfast/lunch places, a block away from a Thai restaurant and walkable. The apt. is large and cozy with everything that you might need. The host is easy to reach by text or phone. Up 2 flights of stairs in a historic building. We are seniors and did not have a problem.
Everything is as pictured, clean and well stocked with really nice dishes/silverware/pans. Water pressure and heat/air worked amazingly well for such an old building. The stairs are not super steep with wide treads with a landing making getting up and down much easier than expected. The town is full of history, friendly folks and has enough shops and restaurants to keep you busy for a day. And is within 30 minutes of the Bourbon Trail and a variety of horse farms . Ron clearly is available if you need anything, leaving his phone number in several places, but in our 3 day stay we never had the need to get in touch! This place is a winner all the way around!
If you want to experience downtown Paris, this is a great location. The Art Walk and Pumpkin Festival were just steps from our door. Easy check in and check out. Overall a great experience. Thank you!

Hello! I'm Ronnie Perry. I and my wife, Erin are Kentucky natives. We have a love for Paris specifically--both the history and the people and truly love living here. I have been a broker/realtor since the 90's and love history, so the makeover on the post-civil war building apartment was a natural. We have put lots of love and care into this place and are so happy to be able to share it with you!!
Why they chose this property
This was a vision for both of us. We love Paris and wanted to be a part of the downtown renovation and rebirth that has been happening. With streets named after famous horses and horseshoes buried in the sidewalks on Main (Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood, move over!) it was irresistible when the old Fee grocery store came up for sale in 2013. Historic photos grace the interior and hallway of the apartment and the old Fee's Grocery sign that a was originally painted on the side of the building many years ago has been refurbished! We love being part of the downtown scene and contributing to the future of our beautiful area.
What makes this property unique
This apartment is ideal for a romantic get away or mixing pleasure with business in the heart of horse country. With easy access to Lexington, Ky (only 12 miles away down one of the most beautiful stretches of highway anywhere---passing through horse farm after horse farm) or the Kentucky Horse Park---it lets you live in the charm of the small city while affording easy access to big city shopping, performances at Rupp Arena, Keenland Race Track, the Red Mile and more. Of course with 54 working horse farms in Paris and Bourbon County, the heart of the Bluegrass is just outside your door!
