Amazing Beach Vacation

We loved our week stay in the Watersound community. The house was beautiful and there was plenty of room for 6 of us. We enjoyed biking to the beach and the quietness of the community. Location was ideal between two of the busier towns. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

The only thing I would suggest is some additional bikes. Staying in this community really does warrant bikes for everyone due to the distance to the beach. We’ve stayed there for years and always loved how quiet & quaint it is even on a holiday week. Another bonus is that the beach is private so it’s never busy which is amazing!!

The kitchen was well-stocked and the management was helpful and checked in to see if anything was needed. It is not close to the beach - .3 miles away but was a doable walk/bike ride. We loved the bikes and beach chair set-up.

Fabulous Home

This was our family vacation. All 10 of us had a bed. We chose this property on line because the photos were beautiful. When we arrived we were so excited. PURE LUXURY!!!!!!! The adults could actually watch TV because the grandchildren had their own TV sitting area upstairs. Yea!!!!! The art work was so beautiful and perfect for this home. We could not have been happier. The trip to the beach was a little further than I at my age could make with my cranky old knees. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home. Dealing with Royal rentals was wonderful!!!!!

Great Neighborhood and Nice Home

Upon arrival, there was a small issue with a toilet, and they sent someone to address it right away. The home was well stocked with everything needed for a week. The floor plan was perfect for two families with plenty of space. And the beds are extremely comfortable. A note for others... the beach access from this neighborhood is private and as such there is no chair service. We had a very unfortunate experience with LDV (the concierge service recommended by Royal Destinations). Just be aware they will book you chair service, but it is a quarter mile up the beach on a crowded public beach.

Just incredible!

We absolutely loved staying in this beach house! First of all, it's beautifully decorated with high end furniture. It's brand new, and the owners had thought of everything to make our stay memorable. The beds were very comfortable. We loved having coffee on the outdoor porch each morning and the kids loved the outdoor shower with warm water each afternoon. The kitchen had all we needed, even a nice ninja blender for my smoothies! The bikes were great too, having a trailer to put all our stuff in was really helpful! The beach at watersound west is beautiful, it's like it used to be, you look around and it's just sand dunes, sooooo peaceful! The kids loved playing in the area where deer lake flows into the ocean. So even on a day when the water was too rough they still were very entertained! The bike ride to the beach is short, as well as to the pool. It's actually a gorgeous boardwalk over a lake out to the beach. We were close to so many great places! What a great area, places to bike to and wonderful restaurants.A Publix is nearby for our groceries, as well as Seaside and Rosemary. The kids actually biked to both. We cannot wait to go back to this home!

Beautiful home - perfect beach neighborhood!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Watersound West is hands down our favorite neighborhood on 30A. We have stayed in Rosemary, Watercolor, Seacrest, Seagrove, etc and this is by far the most peaceful. It's gated, on the southside of 30A, has a great bike path to the beach (which is never crowded like Seaside, Rosemary, etc), and is just extremely quiet. The house is about a 1/2 mile to the beach but it doesn't feel like it. You can ride your bike all the way there in no time, or drive and park at the pool if you want to walk and it cuts the length in half. The house was gorgeous, clean, with comfy beds. Two adults on main level, with 5 teenagers upstairs, so it never felt crowded. The only downside was the access to the outdoor shower. We always biked home from the beach and you can't access it from the front of the house, only the rear, which is not quick to get to. Just make sure you rinse everything off at the pool before going to the house. There are also large bushes in the middle of the drive, which you will have to push your bikes against if you have two cars parked in the drive. The neighbors just have river rock in their middle space between the cars, which would have been great. Would def rent here again, though! Management company is great!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Southern Charm was an amazing house and we enjoyed it very much! Quiet and serene! The perfect getaway for a few day! The added bonus we only had to drive from Panama City!A couple of things that Royal Destinations could improve on:1. The boardwalk behind the pool that leads to the beach was great until it ended at the moat that had to be crossed to reach our beach chairs. I am not sure if this overflow from the lake is always there but for the quality of WaterSound and the clientele that vacation here, this should be remedied quickly. You need a little walkover bridge to get to the beach without having to walk all the way around it.2. When I booked the house, I spoke to young lady at Royal Destinations that told me it would be no problem for my college son to come check in a bit early on check in day if the house was ready. On check in day my son did go out to see about checking in early. They told him they would call him after it had been inspected. I tried calling from 1:30-3:30 and no one ever answered the phone. I finally arrived at 3:45 to check in. This is really my only complaint that I could not get a person on the phone for 2 hours. I called at least 8 times. We did however enjoy our time at Watersound West very much! We love the area! Thank you for a great little staycation!!

Overall a great experience, with an important lesson learned

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Royal Destinations (RD) was very helpful in finding a replacement home when our initial home cancelled our stay. RD also found very generous homeowners who honored an exception that the previous home offered, and for this, we are extremely grateful. RD was very responsive during booking, prior to arrival, and the first two days of arrival. The home came with 2 bikes, and we ordered 2 additional bikes. When we arrived, one house bike had a flat tire, and only one of the ordered bikes had arrived. This home does not have a bike pump. It would be helpful if the homeowner perhaps left one in the master closet. This happens every year. The second day we noticed a few things that needed repair that we were ok tiptoeing around for the week. When I emailed RD, they were again quickly responsive. HOWEVER, 5 of the 6 days we had problems with the beach umbrella and chairs. RD sent us to Relax 30A, their concierge. Relax 30A told us to call Rent Gear Here. Rent Gear Here said neither RD nor the concierge communicated with them, and the real problem is this is state park land. Rent Gear Here also neglected to tell us for the first two days that guests must call them at 8:00 a.m. to check in to have chairs and umbrellas delivered by 9. Several days we waited for chairs until after noon, one day being 2:00 p.m., even with checking in. It was ridiculous, and I wasted several hours on vacation dealing with it. RD didn't bother to return my emails. Simple communication resolves a multitude of problems. I'm disappointed that RD didn't have the courtesy to 1) return my emails or 2) take the time to add two lines to their welcome paperwork stating "In order to have your complementary umbrella and 2 chairs set up on the beach, please call Rent Gear Here at 8:00 a.m. every morning that you plan to be on the beach." It became very clear that RD is interested in customer service only to a point. Rent Gear Here has serious process and procedure failures.

I fell in love with water sound west beach. We owned a home in watercolor for years and I LOVED this neighborhood so much more. Easy beach access just a bike ride away and the lovely neighborhood pool was beautiful and a few blocks away and plenty big for my kids. What I loved the most was even In the middle of spring break (which can be CRAZY) the neighborhood was very quiet. My 9 year old had no trouble riding her bike around and I wasn't the least bit worried about traffic. Highly recommend. We are very familiar with 30A and I would recommend this house to anyone I know looking for a place to stay. If you WANT to be in the middle of Seaside or Rosemaryl, this is not the place for you. It's drivable but its a haul on a bike. But if you want a place thats convenient to a lot (the HUB is very close) and quiet and beautiful this is the place for you.

Watersound West is a beautiful quiet neighborhood with access to a private beach. Southern Charm was extremely clean and well furnished. The beach is a quick 10 minute bike ride or 15 minute walk to the beach. The pool area is located at the entrance to the boardwalk to the beach. The property description by Royal Destinations was accurate and the photos depict the property as you will find it. We wish we had an extra week to enjoy Watersound West and Southern Charm. We would highly recommend Southern Charm as well as Royal Destinations.

The check-in process had a sight hiccup but otherwise the experience was positive. We've booked with 3 different rental agencies now and this one was definitely an improvement over last year's choice. Very easy to contact especially with all the covid craziness.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was spotless and fit our family perfectly. The decor is beautiful. It is quite a hike to get to the beach but well worth the exercise! Had trouble with the lights/fan in master bedroom/bathroom continually tripping the breaker. However, the maintenance was quick to respond.
