Very nice home. It fit well for our 3 generation family. Has a great table for playing games, a fantastic deck and backyard. We brought a pack and play for the baby and plastic dishes for the 3 kids.
This cottage was amazing. It has so much charm and space. Check in and out was a breeze. Location is perfect. Around the corner from a grocery store and shops. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!

Loved the location of this property. It was great to be able to walk out our back door and straight to the beach! The family room area lent itself to the perfect gathering spot for our family. Also appreciated ample parking. The house could use some maintenance updates. Response from property management company was slow (3 days) when we contacted them about an appliance that wasn’t working. Was a great property for all ages.
I liked the vegetation in the yard left a bit wild to block out the surrounding area. The closeness to the beach is always a plus. The newer deck was nice. Great location and private driveway. I live in a 1960’s home and have remodeled it almost completely, so I know the challenges and cost for remodels. Little things I notice That didn’t necessarily take away from my experience, but would like to point out in the nicest way possible. The kitchen and bathroom drawers and cabinets are discolored and don’t work properly or easily. The bathroom with the bunk beds in it had a missing light bulb in the vanity and it seems one of the switches should turn on a light on the ceiling, but it didn’t work. The entry coming up the stairs had the carpet stapled to the floor to keep it down. Same as the dining room carpet and some of the flooring in the porch area was stapled or nailed down through the top. The shower heads for outside were clogged and broken. Barely any water came out to rinse the saltwater off yourself. Updated cooking pans would be good. The bedrooms all having at least queen beds was a major factor in choosing this house. Having ceiling fans throughout was great in keeping it cool. We really had a good time and the weather was amazing for us.
We enjoyed the size and views from the windows. Its overall a bit outdated but very roomy and comfy. We couldnt access the beach frin the property which was very wet and swampy but a pond in the back from all the rain was pretty to look at and the walk to beach public access path not that far away, maybe 1/4 mile.
We wanted a place to get our family of 8 together to celebrate our son graduating from Med School! Great kitchen supplies, 2 refrigerators!! Clean and cool! We had a partly rainy weekend so the great lawn was fun to catch clear weather when we could!! Grill was also ready and perfect!! We were very pleased!
The house was very comfortable and clean! We did not have any problems. The location is great with a short walk to the beach. The stair entry into the home is not as appealing as the rest of the home. This surprised me because the entry is not shown in the photos. However, once we were inside the main home, it was not an issue at all. The openness of the home and the back porch proved to be perfect for visiting with family and friends. I would stay here again.

Thank you for your kind words Amy! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to host your oceanfront vacation on Isle of Palms. Please remember to look up Carroll Realty's website. We would love to host your return trip to 2206 Palm Blvd on the island of Isle of Palms!
Regardless of the cool temperature outside, the porch was always sunny and beautiful. Hearing the waves crashing on the beach just yards away, the relaxation was on point. The waves were just big enough for our 16 year old to teach herself to surf and the sand hugged our aching bodies and made us forget the real world for the week. Just what we needed. Ages with us started at 16 and went all the way to 96. Beautiful memories made this week 💖

Thank you for sharing your vacation experience with us. :) We are So glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you will return soon to stay at 2206 Palm Blvd. Please contact Carroll Realty for your return trip to Isle of Palms!
It was a cool, ideally located cottage of a certain era. The bedrooms were great...clean, comfortable beds and the a.c. was ideal. The view and walk to the beach were perfect. Outside shower was a great touch. Very comfortable main room with 6 sofas. The kitchen was underwhelming. I didn't expect high end but it was very funky with a broken oven and an unbalanced stove top. We managed fine but it could use some updating. All in all it was a fabulous week.

Hi Jack - Thank you for choosing us to host your beach vacation! I'm glad to hear your group enjoyed the location and size of the home! It is an older beach cottage beloved by many. We'd be happy to host your next beach trip back to Isle of Palms!
AC didn’t work first two days. AC company was awesome. They were responsive and went over and above. House still overall hot. Grass was never cut and damp, wet conditions made for a mosquito infestation. House/dishes not the most clean.

Brian, thank you for working with us and being understanding during your trip. As you remember Isle of Palms experienced 2 straight weeks of tropical storms before and during your stay in our oceanfront home. We have the lawn cut every week under normal circumstances. Unfortunately, our landscaper was unable to cut the grass prior to your arrival because of the precipitation around your dates. I sincerely apologize because we do want guests to have a perfect experience when walking to the beach! Due to the the tropical storm, the A/C went out after the scheduled check-in time. We were able to have it repaired within 2 hrs of being notified. July is one of our hottest months at the beach, however it is the most popular season to visit Isle of Palms. The Lowcountry's humidity can make the temperature feel warmer than what is actually on the thermostat. We always recommend keeping the windows and doors closed so that the A/C can work at its optimal performance settings. Unfortunately, we must rely upon our guests to wash and clean their used tableware. I believe you found some items to not be perfectly clean after the previous guest had returned items to the cabinets. We have ordered a new dishwasher since your stay and this should help with future reservations. We hope you will consider staying with us again for your return trip!

Carroll Realty personal was great and very help with all issues we incurred.
This property what not up to what we expected. This pictures made the property appear to be much fresher that is was The property what extremely dated. Bath rooms small and repairs to the tubs looked like bubble gum caulking. without question not worth the rental price. Would not rent again.

Hi David - we're so sorry that this house was not for you. We try to correctly advertise the property exactly as it is. We post numerous pictures and try to show lots of angles. Again, we're sorry that you did not find the home satisfactory. Most of our guests really love the old style cottage feel that we advertise.
My husband and I and our three college age sons thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property. It would be spacious enough for more than one family with several sitting areas and a large dining area. It is indeed a 40s cottage and that is part of its charm. I do want to explain the beachfront part, as that was something I did not understand. The land is beachfront and when you are on the deck you can see and hear the ocean over the trees and foliage. You cannot see the beach nor can you walk through the property to the beach- or at least you couldn’t when we were there after days of rain when there was a small lake in the backyard. However if you walk along the (not busy) road three or four houses in either direction there is public beach access by a long boardwalk. I would heartily recommend this property.

Hi Catherine - thank you so much for being our guest! I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed the home with your family. There is a path through the dunes to the beach but when we get heavy rain on the island, the yard does flood. Carroll Realty would be happy to host your family again!

Tired and dated.
The house is dated and in need of LOTS of repairs.
Patio doors to porch do not work properly
Fan blade in bedroom fell off while fan was running. Could have caused an injury.
Path to beach requires climbing over STEEP sand dune. An accident waiting to happen. We ended up using the public access path two doors down.
Kitchen needs a good surface cleaning; All surfaces were tacky with greasy residue.
There is a double oven but the upper oven doesn't work.
Good things were the fact that there were two regroup and the location was great.

Dear Joy of July 8,
We had a new fan installed; unfortunately, these things happen after a lot of wear and tear and we cannot predict it. The oven does work properly. You have to select bake, broil, or warm on left knob and select temperature setting on right knob. We have never had a problem with guests using it. The sliding door to the porch has been checked by maintenance and is in working order. If any surface was not completely clean in the kitchen we would have sent the cleaners out immediately if you had notified us during your stay. By telling us (online) after you checked out we were unable to take care of this issue. Our goal is to make all our guests happy and respond to any and all requests when guests are staying in our Rentals. The sand dunes are natural in their formation. They are higher at the top and slope down towards the beach. The house has many pictures online and is represented effectively by these photos. We posted a lot of pictures so that renters could see exactly how it looked. It is an older style Cottage and is advertised as such. The house is in good repair and does not currently have any maintenance issues.

VERY disappointing vacation experience
We had multiple issues with this property. A floodlight in the neighbor's backyard was in our direct line of sight making it difficult to enjoy the ocean front porch at night. Also, the property wasn't advertised as handicapped inaccessible. Navigating the steep stairs was difficult for my husband and elderly visitors. Signs were posted all over the house with detailed instructions of what NOT to do (including no smoking signs in almost every room) making us feel as if we were in a dormitory. One typed sheet of instructions would have sufficed. Finally, none of the TVs were functioning when we checked in. The management company did respond to our concern but the problem wasn't fixed to our satisfaction. At one point, the maintenance man walked into the house unannounced(with a female companion). VERY poor and disappointing customer service.

We are sorry you did not have a pleasant vacation experience. We always strive to make sure everything is completely satisfactory! We did come by after a man called our office to inform of us the TV situation and we told him we would be by soon to address the issue. The owners of the company came by, so this was not two random strangers. When we knocked on the door no one answered, so we entered the house while also calling out, "hello, Carroll Realty!" A man came and was extremely rude and almost threatening, screaming and cursing at us to leave the property. We assume this was the same man who had just called our office so I'm sorry if he felt like we were coming over unannounced, but again, just trying to help fix the problem with the TV. In regards to handicap accessibility, we do not advertise any of our properties (even ones with elevators) as handicap accessible because of many liability reasons. Almost none of our properties have a truly handicap accessible bathroom and so therefore we do not want to falsely advertise any property. Yes, there are stairs to access the main part of the house as it is a 2 story house. We apologize for all of the signs in the house and will speak with the homeowner about taking down some of these signs. Thank you for your review and we hope next time you return you will find a home more to your liking. We would be happy to help you find one!

Renter BEWARE!
The house is not maintained. It has many structural issues that made 6 adults very uncomfortable staying there. There are electrical drop cords every where. There are holes in some rooms of the floor; large enough for vermin to make there way into the house; many leaks from room air conditioners, toilets and sinks. Spider webs in the windows, blinds, and even in the furniture. Watch where you put your hands. The house is cluttered with old, worn, thrift store, furniture and lamps. In one room I counted 10 lamps not including the 3 lighted ceiling fans. And the smell will take your breath away and make you look for a place to throw up. The sun room, aka rotten floor room , covered with worn and dated rugs, smells of pee, mold and mildew. The sunroom windows are cracked and broken and are held together with clear tape. Tread lightly in this house. There is supposed to be a underneath section to sit and play games; don’t go there!; it is overgrown with mold, mildew, rust, and just plain neglected and nasty! Don’t stay here! Even though it is on the beach and the lot is gorgeous, (we had to call and ask for the grass and weeds to be cut so we could make our way to the overgrown beach path) you do have to eat and sleep in this nasty place!

Cheryl,
We really feel that your review is very unjust, slanderous, and malicious. We advertise the house exactly as is - a 1940s oceanfront beach home. Our pictures of the house depict the home 100% as it is. In fact, we have posted more pictures than required just so potential renters get the best possible idea of what to expect prior to renting. The owner of the house keeps the home well maintained and there are absolutely no electrical issues or holes in the floor. Also, we do not advertise or mention the downstairs area of this house in the description so this area is definitely not accessible to guests. I am not sure where you got the idea that we have this "playroom." We have numerous happy renters, a lot of which rent the house every year. Of course there are many other fancier homes on the island to rent but they also come at a much higher price tag. If you wanted a fancy, modern home then do not rent a 1940s style beach home. This home is priced at a more than reasonable rate for oceanfront and advertised very honestly. I hope future potential renters will disregard your unfair review of this beach home and instead look at the advertised pictures of the house and all the other positive reviews who found our home exactly as they needed and expected.
Great location and loved the layout. Could have been cleaner and would have loved to be able to open the windows.
