Perfect Carmel Cottage
My wife and stayed here for a week with our 18 year old son. Property is very well maintained, beds are comfortable, and the property manager was helpful in showing us the ins and outs of the property. The house is walking distance all the restaurants around Ocean, but far enough that traffic and parking are not an issue.
The cottage is darling. The small space seems bigger due to the high ceilings and white walls. Quiet neighborhood and visits by hummingbirds and a little bunny enhanced the nice outdoor space. Landlord was very responsive and solved any minor issues very quickly. Would absolutely rent again.
My daughter and I enjoyed this cottage so much. The cottage is small but is absolutely bursting with vintage charm. And the location is perfect - walking distance to everything but located on a quiet street where no street parking is allowed. Denise was a wonderful and responsive host.
The kitchen is small but functional and is stocked with all you need if you want to cook meals at home. I enjoyed the very nice glassware and higher end bed/bath linens.
If you love cottage charm, ability to walk to everything, and don’t mind small space living, you are bound to enjoy it here!
Never could we imagine such charm packed into 600 SF! The interior of Denise & Athan's Comstock Cottage is as attractive as its fanciful exterior. The appealing furnishings are artfully chosen and comfortably positioned; the galley kitchen has all you need for cooking most meals that can be enjoyed in a romantic environ that some upscale restaurants strive to create. So many features and special thoughtful touches make this cottage truly endearing. At night you can hear the surf and in the secondary bedroom you can see the stars twinkle through the skylight above the bed. Denise & Athan's cottage exemplifies the creativity and quaintness of this unique village, which is an easy stroll away. We would come back in a heartbeat.
This adorable cottage is one of Hugh Comstock’s Tudors dating back to early Carmel artist colony days. It exudes character and charm along with all the modern conveniences and is located in a quaint area of other cottages.
What a warm welcome through the red gate, past gorgeous white old roses and a pretty garden seating area. I noticed the distinctive porch light was an original hand-forged Comstock signature piece.
In the cozy living room we were delighted with whimsical Comstock touches, high-pitched ceilings and a rustic fireplace with a gargoyle sticking his tongue out.
To welcome us, our very thoughtful hosts, Denise & Athan had left us a log in the fireplace and an excellent bottle of their family’s wine— we enjoyed them both! What a perfect way to start out. And for the holiday, they treated us to their special wine and scones from a new local market! We so appreciate their kindness.
The cottage is tastefully furnished, very clean, comfortable and all in good working order. Original artworks give it an artist’s cottage feel. We’ll be back!
Recently my college roommate (from long, long ago!)and I stayed in this truly charming cottage in Carmel. It was magical. The cottage and garden exceeded our expectations and could not have been better. The photographs on the website do not do the cottage justice. It is small but doesn't seem so because of the lovely light and high ceilings. All amenities are first rate -- fluffy, thick towels; good quality table and glassware; attention to detail. We spent hours in the private garden talking and reminiscing, as only college roommates can. "Downtown" Carmel was only a few short blocks away and nothing was more than five minutes away by car--Carmel beach, numerous cafes with lovely outdoor patios, good little markets, and great wine. Big Sur, with its incredible sea and cliff views, was waiting just down the road. It was like another world and it was hard to leave. We hope to return.
We would definitely consider staying here again. It had everything we needed for two; it think it would have felt tight for 4. We really appreciated the property manager making the process as seamless as possible so we could enjoy our stay.
Spent 4 nights at this lovely Cotswold cottage in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Cozy living room, little French-style kitchen, dining area. Two bedrooms and a bath. A Welcome bottle of wine, clear instructions about the cottage, and phone numbers to reach managers. We did not cook, but the kitchen was definitely well-stocked. The cottage is easy walking distance from town. Oh and the garden is darling with a black and white striped umbrella with 4 chairs.
Totally comfortable cottage! Family members have moved to Pacific Grove so we’ll be coming to the area more often. Hope to be able to stay here again!
Incredible opportunity to stay in a fairy tale cottage. Clean, well stocked with all the modern comforts. Lovely garden area to enjoy your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Easy walk to downtown. We throughly enjoyed our stay in this amazing cottage!
Incredible property in Carmel in fantastic location. Easy walking distance to Carmel. Cottage was well appointed with lots of charm. Will definitely rent from Denise again. She was most responsive to any request we made and gave us great local recommendations.

Charming cottage, excellent location!
Sweet cottage, nicely appointed, just minutes from downtown Carmel- everything we were looking for! The owner was kind and accommodating (we arrived a little early) and the cottage was comfortable and cheerful. We took day trips to various beaches, all very easy to get to from this location. Shopping, restaurants, the historic Carmel Mission, 17 mile drive/Pebble Beach are just minutes away too. We enjoyed every minute of our stay!

Carmel by the sea Heaven!
It's not just a cottage, it's an experience! Cute, cozy, romantic, yet with all of the amenities that make life enjoyable and easier! We really got into the Carmel lifestyle over such a long stay. Beautiful walks and hikes start right out the front door. We quickly made a habit of seeing the ocean every day. Our favorite Happy Hours were just a quick few blocks away. No wasted space, this cottage is full of charm.

Adorable Cottage Close to Everything!
We loved our stay at Cotswold Cottage! It was a convenient walk to everything in Carmel, making access to restaurants and shopping easy. The cottage is also nicely equipped and updated. Everything you need is right there, meaning you don't have to buy any supplies aside from groceries.
The owner was very easy to work with, and the property manager met us on-site and showed us around upon our arrival. Because of its location, you also have easy access to Highway 1, as well as your pick of grocery stores. There's a lovely forested park nearby with mulch trails for those who like to run or bike. And like I mentioned previously, downtown is close enough to walk to when you get hungry. (Comfortable shoes are a must because Carmel's streets are, shall we say, uneven, and there aren't many sidewalks.) We even walked down to the beach a couple of times!
We used Yelp to locate restaurants -- Demetrios, Tree House Cafe and Nico were our favorites. We grabbed brunch at The Cottage one day, and of course, we had to duck into the Hog's Breath Inn for a drink. (Try their Lover's Coffee!) The gallery owners along the main shopping corridors are very hospitable, too!
During our stay, we booked a private kayak excursion through Monterey Bay Kayaks in Elkhorn Slough. It is the best way to get up close with some of the wildlife. And on our last full day there, we hiked all of Point Lobos State Park. In other words, there's plenty to do, and Cotswold Cottage is a great central location from which to operate!

A Peaceful and Very Pretty Carmel Retreat.
Having travelled from the UK via a cruise down the coast, we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation in Carmel. The booking process was very easy, with many useful emails with the owner to clarify booking, payment and contract. The handover was very well managed by Rick, the local agent. The cottage itself is very picturesque, being small but beautifully formed for 4 adults (same family using one bathroom). It's location is very central to 'downtown' Carmel and within walking distance of the beach. The owner's refunding of the deposit payment was very prompt.
This well-equipped cottage (laundry, internet, linen etc.) is ideal for a quiet getaway in the heart beautiful Carmel!

Charming Cottage
My husband and I stayed at this charming Cotswold cottage for a week during the recent AT&T tournament. The property was immaculate when we arrived and even cuter than the pictures on-line. Beds were very comfortable and, although the kitchen was quite small, it was very well equipped. As the weather during our stay was so beautiful, we spend a lot of time sitting in the yard listening to the birds and watching the many neighborhood dog walkers (very friendly neighbors!). At night you can hear the ocean waves while falling asleep. I think my favorite leisure activity was sitting in the Bergere chairs with the front door open - just enjoying the ambiance while working on my computer or just reading. I really appreciated the proximity to Ocean Avenue and all of our favorite restaurants (Anton & Michel, Cassanova, The Grill on Ocean). I would definitely recommend this lovely house to anyone wanting an intimate, romantic retreat. Rick (property mgr) was very helpful when we first arrived (appreciated the wine!) and we can't thank Denise enough for opening her home for others to experience. We will definitely be back - hopefully soon - Carmel is one of our favorite retreats.

Charming cosy cottage
Well-organized management of rental from meeting with Rick who helped us find the cottage (I am always getting lost) and getting refund back in a timely manner. Cottage is smaller than it appears in the photograph but really charming and perfect for four people. I value my sleep and the beds were wonderful. Kitchen was well-equipped but very small - good enough for basic cooking but prep space limited. Definitely recommend the cottage for visits to Carmel.

My husband and I had a lovely time at this cottage. It feels very roomy, with 2 comfortable bedrooms, a living room and the very pleasant yard. Sweet plantings and gorgeous succulents growing all around!
Everything worked well, we were greeted promptly, Denise helped beforehand with questions and information. We loved the location, close enough to town to walk easily into town or the ocean, but located in a residential neighborhood.

Cottage with a fantastic atmosphere
This cottage invites for a cozy and everlasting memory of a good vacation. All from the tiny lovely garden to the autentic and artistic house that brought minds towards the danish poet Hans Christian Andersen.
Moreover the cottage was located less than 300 meters from down town in a very quiet nighboorhod and just 1 kilometer from the fantastic beach - and distance that alowed us to hear the powerfull Pacific waves. The owner very responsive and so friendly! Very recomentable for a couple.

Enchanted Cottage
Adorable cottage in quiet neighborhood, four short blocks to downtown dining. Lovely garden, comfortable bed, all the amenities. Small, but the exceptionally high ceilings gives it a larger feel. Perfect for the two of us. Would love to come back.
