About this property
Peaceful Rogue Riverfront Home on 3 Acres!
Tranquil Riverfront Retreat on Three Private Acres
Welcome to The River House, a peaceful retreat along Oregon’s Wild and Scenic Rogue River. Situated on three private acres with approximately 300 feet of river frontage, this comfortable home is an ideal destination for rafting, fishing, hiking, wildlife watching, family time, or simply relaxing beside the water.
We believe a vacation rental should feel welcoming and well supplied from the moment you arrive. We have gone out of our way to provide the everyday essentials guests often find missing from vacation rentals. You’ll find generous supplies of towels, toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, soaps, and other household necessities—so you can settle in and enjoy your stay without immediately shopping for basics.
The recently remodeled and tastefully furnished home features three comfortable bedrooms with quality linens and plush pillows, along with two full bathrooms stocked with plenty of towels and toiletries.
The fully equipped kitchen features stainless-steel appliances, spices, pantry staples, and an extensive assortment of cookware and small appliances. A mixer, blender, food processor, waffle maker, griddle, crockpots, and much more make it easy to prepare everything from a quick breakfast to a family dinner.
Step outside onto the expansive 16-by-40-foot deck, where you can fire up the gas grill, unwind in the hammock, enjoy an outdoor meal, or gather together after a day on the river. Play horseshoes with a river view or take advantage of the spacious grassy front yard and backyard areas for games and family fun.
A natural wildlife trail leads to the property’s private gravel beach. Bring a folding chair and spend the day fishing, swimming, wading, or simply relaxing at the water’s edge. Because the trail follows the property’s natural terrain, some guests may find the incline steep and should use their own judgment when accessing the river.
The River House is located just downstream from Brushy Chutes, an area known for salmon and steelhead fishing. Ample parking is available for cars, trucks, and boats, and the Robertson Bridge boat launch is approximately one mile away.
After a day of adventure, return to the home’s peaceful surroundings, comfortable gathering spaces, and upgraded high-speed internet. Outdoor fires may be enjoyed when seasonal regulations and local fire restrictions permit.
Dog-Friendly Amenities
Dogs are welcome with prior host approval. Please contact us before booking to tell us about your dog. A one-time $50 pet fee and pet policy apply.
A large fenced dog run, added in 2025, provides approved canine guests with a secure outdoor space during their stay.
Whether you’re planning an adventure-filled Rogue River vacation or a quiet retreat surrounded by nature, The River House offers a welcoming combination of privacy, comfort, thoughtful amenities, and unforgettable riverfront scenery.

Beautiful and comfortable. Sitting on the deck is so relaxing. We saw deer everyday. Great fishing close to the house. Check out Griffin Park. Pet friendly. Check-in and out was easy. The host is very friendly.
We had such a wonderful time staying at the River House! It was perfect for our group and was well equipped for everything we needed. It was clean and comfortable, giving us a perfect place to retreat after spending time seeing the sights around Southern Oregon. Sarah and Stephen were great to communicate with, too. Thank you—we would love to stay again!
Beautiful home with everything you need to entertain your whole family. They thought of everything. Very convenient home away from home. Gorgeous property with plenty to keep all ages busy.
The stay was exactly as we envisioned. We were able to relax next to a scenic river or enjoy family time around the campfire. The rooms and amenities met every one of our needs. The family is already discussing a future trip to this property.
This house was so spacious and well laid out and just a fun and memorable place to spend vacation time. The house was incredibly clean and well cared for. We enjoyed the riverfront and some fly-fishing, although didn't catch anything on this trip.
Our stay at The River House was so much more than we expected. The house was impeccable and stocked with every amenity possible. One evening we were wanting to BBQ and the propane tanks were empty. We called Sarah and within 20 minutes we had a new propane tank for the BBQ grill. She responded to other inquiries, and we so appreciated her looking out for us. We were concerned about the walk to the river, but Sarah explained how nature made the paths and they could not be changed. I would highly recommend you booking this location - it is about 10 minutes from Merlin and 20 minutes from Grants Pass where there are amazing shopping boutiques and restaurants. Sarah and Stephen, thank you being such considerate hosts.Gary and Tammy V
Sarah and Stephen have a wonderful place. They were easy to contact and made checking in and out super easy. The house was well stocked and clean! Can’t wait to go back!
Sarah and Stephen were wonderful host, giving us tips on things to see in the area, always responsive and accommodating. The house and location were outstanding as well. We have never stayed in a vaction rental that was this nicely equipped. We loved the house and location!
The stay at the river house is an exceptional experience. We truly loved the views, access to the river, fully stocked kitchen, and the thought hosts have put in to set this place up. The place was extremely clean, and perfectly set up for families with young children. We highly recommend this beautiful place and hope to be back soon!
Our host was kind and very responsive. We ended up having to reschedule because of sickness and it was a smooth process. The house was very clean, comfortable and had a pretty view of the river. Would definitely stay here again when we’re back in Oregon.
Very much enjoyed our stay, relaxing, eating and playing games. Also hanging out by the River with our dog!

Why they chose this property
We are Stephen and Sarah, proud owners of this beautiful vacation home. Our roots trace back to North Bend on the stunning Oregon coast. Each summer, we would visit Grants Pass, where we made childhood memories camping and rafting on the Rogue River. As kids, we would float past the charming homes lining the riverbanks, dreaming of the day we might own one ourselves.
In 2011, we took a leap and made that dream a reality by purchasing this house from its original owner. Over the years, we’ve dedicated ourselves to transforming it through thoughtful remodeling, both inside and out. Today, it serves as a beloved gathering spot for our family and friends.
We cherish the joy of watching the next generation create their own memories at the River House, discovering the enchanting beauty of the Rogue River just as we did. This home is not just a vacation spot; it’s the fulfillment of our childhood dreams and our favorite getaway. We are thrilled to share this special place and its magic with you!
What makes this property unique
This property boasts a stunning park-like setting, featuring expansive grassy areas surrounded by lush trees. Each morning, you’ll be greeted by the breathtaking sight of the river flowing gently by, creating a serene atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxation.
The spacious deck not only offers a perfect spot for enjoying your morning coffee but also serves as a fantastic vantage point for wildlife viewing. In the evenings, you might catch a glimpse of a family of deer as they wander through the yard on their way to the river for a drink. The area is alive with activity, as squirrels, birds, and even the occasional fox add to the natural charm. This unique blend of tranquility and diverse wildlife makes our property a truly special retreat.
