Old farmhouse in the countryside, but only 600mt.away from the village, located on one floor, independent, adjoining the owner's house .
It is in a very small Borgo;around there are fields,olives,wood . From the windows you can admire the view of the Area Protetta della Calvana. A stone courtyard ,with table,chairs,barbecue,is available,where you can also park. You can reach the house by the old stone staircase.
The house is equipped with dish-washer,washing-machine,oven,fridges and freezer,dishes,coffe scrub,vacuum cleaner,household linen.
In 6 minutes from the house you reach the station(there is a free parking) from which you can go to the central station of Firenze,avoiding so the heavy traffic,and to Bologna.
About 25 km.away from Firenze
Easy to reach by motorway Pistoia and its zoo,the beautiful Lucca,Pisa,the Versilia beach.

Everything about the property was excellent. Because the house is located at a slightly higher elevation than the town, it was pleasantly cool and not humid. The house itself is charming and the owners very friendly. We unjoyed out stay immensely.

A charming, beautiful, peaceful corner of the world

My family and I loved this quaint, rustic farmhouse.  It looked like it was from medieval times and had so much charm and character.  It was spotlessly clean and filled with antiques.  It had a peaceful setting with beautiful views of the Tuscan mountains.  It the morning you would hear a rooster crowing and beautiful songbirds.  It had everything you would need to make your stay comfortable and  a wonderfully stocked kitchen of every gadget you would need to cook and serve meals.  It felt like a home away from home. The owners were fantastic!  The were so friendly and kind, and really went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, and that any need we might have would be met.  They were so sweet and even gave us a gift of the local cookies and wine from the region, and vegetables from their garden.   You could take the train from the town easily, to go to nearby Florence.  My husband loves to drive so we took a lot of day trips in our car while we were there and drove to Florence, Pisa, Cinque Terra, and Sienna.   If you want to feel like you stepped back in time, to a charming, beautiful, peaceful world, this is the place for you.

Wir hatten eine schöne Woche in der Toskana. Das Haus ist ca. 300 Jahre alt und entsprechend urig eingerichtet. In dieser sehr warmen Augustwoche konnten wir die Wohnung ganz gut lüften, allerdings waren recht viele Mücken da. Unsere Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich.

Mi dispiace,purtroppo quando è molto caldo ed afoso le zanzare ci sono e per questo in casa ci sono a disposizione degli ospiti 3 fornellini elettrici della Vape con relative piastrine; ed anche zampironi da usare all'esterno. Noi personalmente usiamo questi rimedi e così non abbiamo problemi,soprattutto in casa.

situation idéale pour découvrir la Toscane

La maison est parfaitement conforme à la description...! Idéalement placée, proche de Florence, et a moins de deux heures de voiture de toutes les villes que nous voulions découvrir, San Giminiano, Sienne, Pise, Cinque Terra, sant 'agatho, modena..... A 20 minutes de la gare de Prato, où le parking est gratuit pour se rendre directement au coeur de Florence pour 2€ l aller simple adulte. Départ toutes les 20 minutes et retour jusqu'à 0h25. La maison est spacieuse, isolée, perchée sur une colline, réveil au son des criquets.... Tout le confort et équipements disponibles pour de bonnes vacances. Les propriétaires sont disponibles et très discrets... parking privatif dans la cour, fermée à clé. De très très bonnes vacances et un lieu parfait pour découvrir une partie de l'Italie en famille.... Bruno

Excellent séjour !

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. La gentillesse et l'accueil de nos hôtes, une maison qui reste fraîche même pendant la canicule, à 5 mn de la gare de Vaiano en voiture qui nous permet d'accéder à Florence en 35/40 mn en train. La maison et la cuisine sont d'un confort simple mais suffisant pour les vacances. Bien située pour les excursions en Toscane .

Très bon séjour

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour en famille 2 adultes et 3 enfants. L’accueil réservé a été très chaleureux. Emanuel et Marize se sont montrés très disponibles pour répondre à nos questions sur la région et en même temps très discrets nous laissant profiter de notre logement. Idéalement situés, nous avons pu visiter Pise, Sienne, Florence, Prato et Montecatini-Terme.

Rustic farmhouse.

Out of town, yet close enough to drive for eating and food shopping. Friendly hosts yet leave you alone unless asked. Two weeks was restful and a couple of friends joined us for a week. Vaiano good for train to Firenza and Bologna if required.

Très belle maison ancienne, bien située pour visiter Florence (je vous conseille le train partant de Vaiano car vraiment pas cher). Nous avons aussi visité Pise et de la mer (à 1h30 en voiture). Et nous nous sommes baignés dans une rivière et un lac pas trop loin de la maison. Je tiens à souligner l'accueil très chaleureux de nos hôtes !

Sehr gemütlich!

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit in der nördlichen Toskana! Marcia und ihr Mann waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Ferienhaus ist liebevoll eingerichtet. Alles Notwendige ist vorhanden. Florenz, Lucca, Pisa, San Gimignano und auch noch Siena befinden sich in gut erreichbarer Entfernung für Tagesausflüge. In ca. 20 Minuten Autoentfernung gibt es schöne Badestellen am Fluss. Ca. 45 Autofahrminuten entfernt gibt es einen tollen See. Uns hat es sehr gefallen.

Lovely Space

The owners are very nice and genuinely want their guests stay to be the best of experiences. There was plenty of space in this three bedroom apartment. Very neat and spotless. Nicely decored. The beds were comfy. Kitchen was outfitted nicely, even having a dishwasher, however there was no microwave. We thoroughly loved our stay in Vaiano, as well as our hosts. Great place to come home to after visiting Florence by train, and driving to and from Pisa, Siena and Cortona.

Charming old house.

We enjoyed a nice stay of one week together with two dear friends in this charming old house. The owners Emanuelle and Marzia are very kind and hospitable people. It is always close to nature. Around the houses grows trees and plants. The house is located on the heights on the outskirts of Vaiano, but close enough to the train station for easy access to Bologna, Prato, Florence and other cities. This is an ideal house if you want to discover the North parts of Tuscany by train or car.

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans cette location. L'accueil a été chaleureux et nos hôtes ont été aux petits soins pour nous. La maison contient tout ce qu'il faut pour passer de bonnes vacances, lave-linge, vaisselle, de nombreux ustensiles de cuisine, et des lits très confortables permettant de passer des nuits reposantes après des journées de marche dans Florence. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié l'emplacement, sur les hauteurs du village, qui est à 5 minutes en voiture de la gare, elle-même à 30 minutes de Florence. C'est vraiment une très bonne adresse. Merci encore à Marzia et Emanuele pour leur accueil et leur attention.

Authentic and comfortable housing, great people!

We enjoyed a nice stay of two weeks with our four children. Although the house is almost medieval, it is very clean and easy to live in. We felt like being at home. The house is authentic. Antique, traveling books and cooking books are everywhere. The interior is very complete. You will find more than enough kitchen and table ware, blankets and towels. Even the bbq is well equiped. The beds are comfortable and long. The bathroom provides everything you need, although it's small. The thick walls and small windows provide good shelter to the sun. During our stay outdoor temperatures raised up to over 35°C, but inside it was no problem (max 27°C). Anti musquito stuff was available in the cupboard. So we slept well. Nature is close. Around the house plants are everywhere. Next to the house our kids played in the field (grass) surrounded by olive, walnut and fig trees.Lemon, plumps and tomatoes are close by. You will also find lizards, butterflies, grasshoppers, cicadas and turtles. To much to mention. Emanuelle and Marzia are kind and hospitable people. They will provide all privacy you want, but are always wellwilling to help, give advice /tips or to have a talk. Close to Vaiano we enjoyed the creeks that can be found in the hills close by. Florence is close too. If you like a further drive even cities like Sienna or the beaches of Follonica can be visited. Our personal tip: do not forget to visit the Piaggio Museum in Pontedera!

Agréable séjour dans une vieille ferme toscane

Logement très agréable, spacieux , propre et au calme sur les hauteurs de Vaiano. Très belle vue sur les collines environnantes. Accueil très chaleureux des propriétaires, ils ont été aux petits soins pour nous, discrets mais toujours disponibles pour rendre notre séjour agréable. Excellent point de départ pour visiter Florence, Vinci et autres villes des environs.

Ein schönes Haus in den Bergen der Toskana

Das Haus liegt ca 300 m vom Ortskern entfernt an einem Berg. Es ist ein altes Bauerhaus, sehr schön eingerichtet und mit einem schönen Blick ins Tal. Die Besitzer waren sehr freundlich und die Verständigung hat auch gut geklappt. Zu Fuß sind der Bäcker und kleine Geschäfte gut zu erreichen. Die Restaurants hatten leider fast alle geschlossen, da in Italien Ferienzeit war. Nach Florenz oder andere Orte gelangt man sehr gut mit dem Zug. Wir hatten ein Auto gemietet, so konnten wir über Land Fahren und einfacher im nahe gelegenen Supermarkt einkaufen.

Quiet and picturesque country villa.

Our family of 6 absolutely adored our time here. The farmhouse was beautiful and spacious and such a comfortable place to relax. We could walk to the town or take a quick train ride to Florence. Our hosts were just lovely and extremely helpful. Thank you for a wonderful week!

Grande maison accueillante et bien équipée

Très bon accueil de Marzia et de son mari. Maison calme sur les hauteurs de Vaiano avec une grande cour. Les chambres sont spacieuses. Les propriétaires qui habitent à côté sont très disponibles pour nous conseiller et très prévenants. Les principales villes touristiques sont accessibles en moins d'une heure et demie. On peut aller en train à Florence en 30 minutes (ce qui résoud le problème de stationnement !). Nous vous la conseillons.

Sono sempre contenta che i turisti che ospitiamo si dichiarino non solo soddisfatti del soggiorno nella nostra casa,ma anche apprezzino alcuni suggerimenti che rendono più gradevole la loro vacanza,come quello di raggiungere velocemente in treno il centro di Firenze, partendo comodamente dalla stazione di Vaiano,evitando così i grossi problemi di traffico e di parcheggio di Firenze. E' stato bello conoscere questa simpatica famiglia ,con la quale abbiamo passato una piacevolissima serata e che speriamo di ospitare di nuovo. Marzia

My name is Marzia.My husband and I have two sons and two young grandsons.In Winter we live in Florence,near the historic center,but when the good weather arrives,we go to live in my husband's country house,where we spend time working in our kitchen garden,gardening,enjoing the cool of the nights.

Why they chose this property

The house,where my husband was born,belongs to his family since 1870.It is a large house,charming for me,which we love very much,where we meet often with our sons and their families.
Nearby there are five small houses,as a small"borgo",and next to our house we have a farm house which we rent in Summer.

What makes this property unique

We restored this farmhouse without altering it ; we recovered old
furniture,lamps,carpets,pictures,objects from our cellar.
To offer hospitality to many families over the years and to see them happy with their holiday was very nice for us.
The best compliment we received by a guest from France was:"We felt here as we were at our home"
