Burnt Mill Canyon Cottage, "Just for 2", Gorgeous - Romantic - Immaculate - A/C

Established in 1922, (just three quarters of a mile from the village) our cottage is nestled on a secluded half-acre lot on the lush side of Lake Arrowhead among the dogwoods, maples, old growth cedars and pines. When you arrive, park on our level circular driveway and then step back in time by crossing our seasonal creek over the wooden foot bridge. As you approach the cottage, notice the rock walls, live edge siding, and the massive front door. You will have arrived at one of the most picturesque cottages, in one of the quietest canyons, in Lake Arrowhead. Our intent is to keep our cottage in top notch shape - Therefore it must be left in a neat and clean condition upon checkout. We charge extra for excessive cleanup.

During our major renovation, we installed porcelain tile floors, granite counter-tops, all new stainless appliances and a central heating system to keep you cozy. The cottage has been professionally decorated by my wife, an interior designer, who is experienced in incorporating comfort and elegance into home decor. It is furnished with both modern furnishings and antiques, providing the creature comforts of modern day while maintaining the old-fashioned warmth of a traditional Lake Arrowhead cottage. For your enjoyment, we decorate for each season.

The focal point of the cottage is the exquisite fireplace, faced with hand-hewn, split granite boulders. It is accented by a rustic, knotty pine mantel and artisan, hand-hammered, bronze fireplace doors. The beautiful gas log fireplace ignites with the push of a button. What a perfect place to snuggle up by a glowing fire and watch a movie!

Next to the fireplace is a state of the art, LG 4K, OLED TV with the super easy to use, voice activated Amazon, Fire TV Cube. We provide Netflix, Amazon Prime, MAX, PBS Masterpiece, Acorn, BritBox, Hallmark, crackle, freevee, tubi, etc. Listen to music on Pandora with our Danon receiver, with 4 Polk speakers throughout the cottage. We have very high speed (1 Gig up & down) Frontier fiber-optic internet, with an Amazon eero Wi-Fi router mesh system. The living room is a perfect place for you to snuggle up by the fire with each other, and either read or watch a movie.

The "Hobbit" bathroom, downstairs, has a beautiful slate back splash, custom lighting and a unique sink that has been carved out of a large granite rock. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the amenities of home. A high-end washing machine and dryer are in the hallway upstairs.

The beautifully decorated bedroom suite (with mini split air conditioning) has peaceful views of the canyon forest, and cozy, upscale bedding on a top rated - medium firmness - queen memory foam mattress. This elegant room has a vaulted ceiling, separate sitting area, and full-size closet. Relax after a day of exploring, by unwinding under the rain shower head in the recently remodeled master bathroom. The bedroom also has access to an outside deck with two chase lounges. Recline in them while sipping a glass of wine and enjoying a peaceful view of the canyon.

The cottage has a charming front porch and a secluded side patio where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner while enjoying the scenery and the sounds of birds. On a cool summer evening, relax while sipping hot cocoa and marveling at the stars!

We provide an easy-to-use binder at the cabin, with our twelve favorite walks/short hikes in Lake Arrowhead and the surrounding areas. The binder provides maps, descriptions, mileage, and estimated time, etc. For the more adventurous hikers, we provide books/maps describing hikes in the San Bernardino Forest. You can also fish and swim in nearby Lake Gregory or in Big Bear Lake.

You will have the use of (1,200 sq ft) which includes the entire downstairs and the primary bedroom suite upstairs. You will also have use of all outside patios and the balcony. There is a second, locked, private bedroom that my wife and I use. We will of course not be there during your stay!

The Lake Arrowhead area is a little hidden gem, with a quaint village, wonderful local restaurants, and various shopping opportunities. If you are looking for a romantic get-away, or just a place to relax and have fun, this is just the place. Lake Arrowhead celebrates all four seasons - warm summer days, fall colors, snow in the winter, and a beautiful spring.
