Delightful Holiday Cottage with log fire. Five bedrooms, two bathrooms.

It is completely untrue to say that there was any negligence on the part of anyone here, or that there was a major problem with the electricity supply. The electricity worked fine for the entire duration of the stay and was never likely to be otherwise. It is true that the electricity operates by a prepayment key but this is very rarely required as we generally ensure that ample credit is maintained. This isn't always possible however, and in these instances it is a very simple procedure that presents no difficulty to anyone. This guest was given clear, simple instructions in person which echoed the instructions in the housebook and no distress or out of pocket expense was incurred. We even paid a visit in person when our messages were not returned to ensure all was well, and found that everything was in order and that our instructions had been followed and the guest was worrying quite unnecessarily. We specifically told the guest to enjoy their day at Dartmoor Zoo as there was nothing to worry about so it is a pity this advice was ignored. The guests immediately prior and the guests immediately following this booking have both given the cottage the highest possible score and one of them has already booked to return. The other left the review which read simply "Very good and spacious place close to Dartmoor National Park! Lots of facilities (washing machine/dishwasher/fireplace), friendly staff". Whilst it is disappointing when guests find things not quite to their liking and we always do what we can improve the experience and take such views into account, it is nevertheless unheard of for us that a guest struggles in this way. Our high levels of repeat custom and word of mouth bookings suggest we get it right most of the time. Whilst nothing is ever perfect it is worth noting that every one of our 2018 bookings is from a guest who has previously visited or was recommended to us by a previous visitor.
