About this property
NEW & IMPROVED - Guffin Bay Home with new 40ft EZ Dock
This lakefront home is located at Adams Cove within Guffin Bay, on the north shore of Pillar Point. Adams Cove was once a ferry landing and is now a landmark that can be found on all New York State Maps. An off shore prevailing Southwest wind makes Guffins Bay great for boating and water skiing, as the water is typically very calm. A public boat launch is located next door to the property.
Sackets Harbor, Clayton and Alexandria Bay are all neighboring locations within the Thousand Islands region. The source of water is a shore well, therefore the water is not potable. The owner provides a 4 gallon bottle of drinking water at each booking. Guests are responsible for drinking water beyond that.
Here are a few additional helpful notes:
**There is a guest fee of $20 per guest per night after 2 guests. Permission for extra guests after booking has to be given by the host, for which the same charges will apply.**
-Wifi is available on the property as well as access to YoutubeTV via smart television in the living room. Wifi network ID and passcode is located in the guidebook in the home.
-We provide a complimentary bundle of firewood and firestarter. Additional firewood is available for purchase. Feel free to bring your own as well.
-Complimentary bag of ice provided.
The neighborhood is an enjoyable, tranquil lakeside community. Please be respectful of others, thank you!

We have stayed here multiple times and truly enjoy our stay every time. Check in is always easy, home is always clean and Host family is super nice and easy to get ahold of if needed. We love the easy access to the dock for our boat, the back yard is great for my granddaughter to safely run around and the fire pit is one of our favorite spots in the evening. We will definitely be back to stay.
Wonderful place for our family to get together Beautiful scenery and very peaceful The hosts were helpful and very nice people

Dan and his family took advantage of the large area to run around and play. They were very respectful and took good care of the property and followed all the pet rules.
Very convenient and great cottage. We were there when heat was very high a couple of days but ac cooled it down nicely. We enjoyed having a fire and having great conversations with friends. Nice quiet spot and quick trip to stores and restaurants and close to golf course. All and all a great time!
The property, the yard was great for our family. Very relaxing, which was what we were looking for! The owner was friendly, accommodating and easily reachable. He made us feel very welcome. Would love to go back again sometime...maybe some family ice fishing!
The porch provided beautiful views of the cove, especially early morning sun. We especially enjoyed the huge living room with lots of comfortable couches and chairs. Jack, the host, was fun to talk with and he made our visit quite pleasurable. Thank you, for a nice visit to the North Country!
We enjoyed the house. Plenty of room to relax. The docks worked great. Out of the wind and rough water. Hope to make another trip back there.
Jack and his son John were great hosts.

I am glad you enjoyed your stay there’s always something I can do to make it better and I’ll keep working at it I hope you see in the future.. Jack and Charlene
My husband and fishing buddy loves to stay here because they can dock the boat right there. He wanted to take an extra trip so I went along and our son and granddaughter joined us. I enjoyed sitting out on enclosed patio looking out at the water drinking my coffee watching the sun come up. Home had everything we needed, owner was very friendly, accommodating and easy to get ahold of when we did have a question. We will definitely continue returning for our get aways.
Very relaxing stay at this lakeside cottage. Huge yard was a big plus. In a nice quiet cove. We were able to take walks or ride our bikes easily. Super easy access to boat launch and dock for our boat. Only downside was there wasn't easy action the water to swim and lots of seaweed which I know they can't control. Overall, we had a really nice stay at this cottage and the owner was very easy to communicate with.

Hi Brittany thank you for booking my lakefront home. I’m glad you had a good time I agree the seaweed likes to take over in the second half of the summer it’s so nice from June to mid July and then I seaweed likes to take over. That Is why I decided to get that aluminum boat and motor going to agitate some of the areas that like to grow quickly. In the not too distant future trying to line up some kind of a Permit that will allow me to get more to the flat rock there so the weeds are not so app to grow. It’s been about 10 years since that has been done. Thanks again for taking good care of the home I hope you have a great summer. Jack
The three things we didn't like about the property was the awful smell of the water. We know that the handbook says not to drink it because it was lake water but, the lake doesn't smell as bad as the water in the house. Also, we are a bunch of old guys, out of shape and we thought the shower was very dangerous. There were no grab bars in the shower nor even a rubber tub mat which would have made it a little safer to shower. Last thing is, I specifically asked the PM to make sure the grill was in working order as we like to cook BBQ outside. After two grilling's the gas tank ran out of propane and the spare tank next to the grill was also empty. Other than that, the property was nice for the location, and the price was reasonable. Yes, we will stay there again.
We loved our stay here. Having the dock for the boat, and having an easy boat launch within walking distance was wonderful (put 5 in a box for the fire dept). Plus, being in a protected cove on windy days meant the boat was fine. The house is a great old gem… old wood floors and doors, etc. (We love that kind of thing… may not be your style). There is a strong sulfur smell to the water…in addition to not drinking it, I decided to not wash my clothes as well for fear they’d pick up the smell. The wrap around porch makes the house… I sat out looking at the lake every morning with my coffee and Bible. View is beautiful. Sitting in an Adirondack chair on the huge lawn under a spectacular willow tree… also wonderful. One more bonus… beds and chairs (2 recliner sofas) were all comfy. Sometimes we’ve rented and the furniture is more for the photos than for humans.Kitchen had what we needed (and we cooked most meals). Traditional coffee pot, if you’re planning ahead for that first morning on the porch. We plan on returning.

Pictures are deceiving!
The cottage is very old and needs repair and updating.
The beds were comfortable and so was the furniture in the living room. The water surrounding the dock is shallow and full of weeds so you can't fish off the dock which was disappointing. The grocery store is very far away. Good thing we brought enough supplies for the week. You can't drink the water because it comes from the lake. Make sure you bring plenty of bottled water. The boat launch is just down the street and only costs $5.00 to launch your boat. Spent time fishing from the boat launch dock. The fishing is great but you really need to know the lake because of the many rocks in it. We hit a rock the second day we were there which ruined our prop and we needed to be towed back by the US Coast Guard. We were so thankful for their help and service. The owner is very helpful and gets back to you in a reasonable time frame.
Overall a nice place on the water. This is a very structure that has been updated. The two things I would recommend is getting electric to the dock area for charging boat battery’s and coat rack on the porch. We did enjoy our stay and would recommend this house.
Nice place. very old or rustic I guess I would say but never the less, worth the price we payed. Property owner was great.

Owner Jack was nice. Location was pretty and there was a nice side yard for our family to play on. Great place for boating, not so good for swimming. House needs some TLC.
John is a host “above and beyond “. He couldn’t do enough to make sure we were comfortable and happy

Sally it was very nice meeting you. Thank you for taking such good care of my home and showing your appreciation it really means a lot to me that you were comfortable with renting my place.
