Fabulous!

We truly enjoyed our time at Gloria’s place in Porticello, but also walking distance to Sant’Elia. The natural beauty, the comfortable accommodations, and the lovely local people enhanced our visit. From here we visited the site of Solunto, Cefalù, two visits by train to Palermo, Museo Guttoso in Bagheria, the Anchovy Museum in Aspra and much more.

Short lived

We did not stay as the awkward front stairs were under construction making it difficult to. Enter the prop. They told us about this the day before our stay. Then the internet lusted it as having a washer but it did not and that was very important to us since we had two weeks of clothes from the prior two weeks to wash. They did offer to do our laundry but it wasn’t a good solution for us and with the inconvenience of the stair construction we requested a refund and found a new location to stay. They did agree and refund was processed. Would have been a beautiful view from their terrace so too bad.

Alles wunderbar, wie auf den Bildern. Wir haben uns sehr, sehr wohl gefühlt - trotz Regenwetter. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet, das Wohnzimmer kuschelig. Gloria ist eine sehr herzliche und leidenschaftliche Gastgeberin - und das obwohl wir ihr mit unseren Ankunftsplänen Sorgen bereitet haben. Es gibt überall Möglichkeiten an kleinen Badebuchten/stränden zu schwimmen. Die kleinen Ortschaften laden zum Erkunden ein (versteckte Bäckereien, Supermarkt in Gehdistanz, einfache bis sehr gute Restaurants). Einzig das Beleuchtungskonzept in der Küche und den Schlafzimmern könnte noch etwas besser sein.

Gezellig appartement met fantastisch uitzicht

een knus, charmant appartement met een adembenemend uitzicht in een gezellig, familiaal vissersdorp. Mogelijkheid om te zwemmen en snorkelen op 2 minuutjes stappen. Goede eetgelegenheden en winkeltjes in de buurt. Perfecte uitvalsbasis voor bezoek aan Palermo, Cefalu... Heel vriendelijk onthaal door de eigenaars. Een echte aanrader!

Traumhafter Ausblick

Das absolute Highlight dieser Unterkunft ist sicherlich die wunderschöne Terrasse (genau wie auf dem Foto), groß, bequeme Sitzmöbel. Toller Ausblick, man ist in der Bucht eines kleinen Fischerdorfs. Der Strand unterhalb des Hauses lädt allerdings nicht wirklich zum Baden ein. Es liegt sehr viel Seegras dort und das Wasser sieht nicht sehr sauber aus. Das Appartment selbst hat einen schönen offenen Kamin (Holz für 2x Einheizen war vorbereitet) und die Sitzgarnitur gegenüber des Kamins ist sehr bequem. Auch die Betten waren angenehm, die Matrazen nicht durchgelegen! Besonders hervorzuheben aber war auf jeden Fall Glorias Empfang! Es waren alle Grundnahrungsmittel für uns eingekauft (Öl, Essig, Brot, Eier, Butter, Milch, Käse, Prosecco, Obst.....) also weit über das Übliche hinausgehend. Außerdem hatte uns Gloria Marzipanobst und sizilanische Süßigkeiten zum Empfang vorbereitet. Wir bekamen umfangreiche Besichtigungstipps und Restaurantempfehlungen (besonders das "Rosa e Nero" in Palermo hat uns begeistert). Für Kunstinteressierte: Gloria ist Architektin und auf das Barock in Sizilien spezialisiert - sie hat dazu auch einiges veröffentlicht. Man kann übrigens sehr gut mit dem Zug nach Palermo fahren (15 min Fahrzeit) Gentile Gloria, ti ringraziamo ancora per la tua ospitalità! Renate, Willi e Christian

Cara Renate per me è stato un piacere conoscere te e la tua bella famiglia e avervi ospiti nella mia casa di Porticello,che ė un autentico borgo di pescatori fuori dal mondo sebbene vicinissimo a Palermo. Sono lieta di avervi aiutato a conoscere la mia terra ,la sua storia e le sue tradizioni(anche enogastronomiche),e di avere reso piacevole il vostro soggiorno con qualche attenzione e qualche consiglio. Mi dispiace per le alghe nel porticciolo che dipendono dalle mareggiate che a fine ottobre hanno colpito il nord della Sicilia,anche la bellissima costa vicino casa ,verso Capo Zafferano. Come scrivi, fuori stagione la casa è molto affascinante e romantica e si possono avere 20 gradi di giorno e la sera godersi il fuoco nel camino. La Sicilia vi aspetta .Un grazie speciale a Voi da Gloria e Beppe.

Vacanza da sogno

Casa di charme, confortevole e tranquilla, dotata, oltre al resto, di un terrazzo meraviglioso e vivibilissimo affacciato sul porto di Santa Nicolicchia e sullo splendido mare della Sicilia. E' doveroso aggiungere che la gentilezza e l'ospitalità dei proprietari - i quali ci hanno fatto scoprire e visitare luoghi stupendi - è stata complementare alla riuscita di una vacanza indimenticabile. Ultimo, ma non ultimo, il fascino di Porticello ed il calore e l'affetto dei suoi abitanti. Torneremo sicuramente e quanto prima !!!!
