Notes
- This is a very well maintained cottage with 100' of lakefront on almost an acre of land, a place you'll love to return to again and again. There are a great many trees on the property as well as a sunny front yard that leads down to a small sandy beach. The lot is 300' deep and is located on a country road approximately 10 miles outside of Traverse City. There are two decks near the water for relaxing in lawn chairs and chaise lounges. There is a fire pit near the waterfront for evening fires and usually a supply of firewood nearby.

I 'm an older lady, retired from the City of Toledo where I was the Registrar of Vital Statistics. I love to travel, garden, feed and watch the birds, read, and relax with friends with a glass of our great regional wine! I'm easy going, have a good sense of humor, and enjoy people! I am so fortunate to have repeat renters and look forward to seeing them again! Right now I'm dogless for the first time in my life. Your dogs are welcome to vacation with you! Since I don't have one of my own right now, they are even more welcome!! I've explored all the little cities around here but never tire of returning. I especially like the state parks and beaches, the festivals, the winetasting, the trendy shopping as well as some great re-sale shops...not to mention all the art galleries and antique stores! I have four grandchildren who have vacationed almost 24 years up here and who still love to come spend time on the beautiful lake.
Ryan McCarthy purchased this house in 1995
Why Ryan McCarthy chose Traverse City
My family always vacationed in and around this area when I was a kid in the 50's. I love the area because it's in the country and I never grow tired of seeing the rolling hills and changing scenery. I'm not here all the time, but sure wish I could be. It's away from the noise of the city. I personally don't like staying in motels when I'm in an area like this. There is generally a breeze from the lake which discourages mosquitos; we may have other bugs, but seldom any mosquitos! I recently experienced mosquitos in the UP and believe me, those babies are vicious!
What makes this house unique
My property is almost 1 acre in size. The cottage is about 200 feet from the road and down a hill. There is a small sandy beach with 3 steps downs to the water. Small children can handle the steps, but babies should not be left alone on the beach as I'm sure everyone realizes. The water is shallow enough at the foot of the steps for them, but I suggest water shoes. Since we're on the east side of the lake, we get to enjoy gorgeous sunsets. Occasionally we're fortunate enough to be able to view the Northern Lights if one can stay awake late enough! In late July and early August, I really try to watch for them and will wake you (if you wish) if I see them.
