Ask a questionAbout Tina Rowswell
Hi I am Tina - me and my family visited the lake district for the first time last year and fell head over heels in love with the place. After returning back to the normal rat race one morning we decided to take a risk and follow our hearts which was to buy this property. Our aim was to share the experience of getting away from it all for like minded people. We really hope you enjoy your stay at Joseph Cottage
Why Tina Rowswell chose Kendal
Historic Town of Kendal… The bustling market town of Kendal, built in distinctive limestone, is a popular hub for shopping and culture in South Lakeland. Home to exciting festivals, a vibrant arts centre, fine museums and world renowned art gallery. Historically, ‘The Auld Grey Town’ was one of the most important woollen textile centres in the country, producing ‘Kendal Green’ and other ‘Kendal cottons’ – its numerous yards (Joseph cottage being part of Kendal’s heritage located in one of these historic yard) once filled with workshops processing cloth, leather and foodstuffs. Kendal was also a centre for shoe making, carpet and snuff manufacture, and synonymous with the production of the famous Kendal Mint Cake.
