Large Hot Tub! Well maintained, recently updated Oceanfront, 7 BR home, Views!

Surf Tide is a traditional style Edisto beach house, right on the beach and only a few steps from the ocean. The large deck off of the main living area (with both a covered portion and an open sundeck) provides fantastic views of the beach and ocean. This porch and deck also provide a shady area underneath in the sand below for hanging out near the beach but out of the sun.

Enjoy the hot tub on the beach-side deck, right off the great room. This spot enjoys great views of the beach and ocean while relaxing in the spa - great for cool evenings while enjoying the sunset.

This home has been extensively renovated within the past 8 years since we purchased the house. Over this time the entire house has been touched at least once. Renovations include a full renovation of the kitchen, a renovation of one of the existing upstairs bathrooms and the addition of a full bath to the upstairs floorplan. We also just completed a renovation to bathrooms downstairs now bring us to a total of 5.5 baths. Other updates include replaced/updated decor and furnishings, the installation of custom built-in bunkbeds in 2 of the bedrooms, new flooring downstairs, renovated kitchenette downstairs, and most recently the addition of a second laundry area upstairs and also an enclosed private outdoor shower off the beach.

The open concept upstairs great room easily accommodates a large group, with even more space opening onto the very large deck. The large great room provides a large living area with comfy, new couches as well as a dining area with seating for 14, and additional seating for 4 at the kitchen island.

This upstairs floorplan of this home has 2 beach facing King bedrooms and 2 street-facing Queen/bunk bed rooms. The upstairs is laid out as a central great room with 2 bedrooms to each side. The beach side King and streetside Queen/bunk bedroom one side of the house each have an en suite bathroom, and the beachside King and streetside Queen/bunk bedroom on the other side of the great room share a hall bath.

The downstairs has another 3 bedrooms - 1 queen bedroom and 2 bedrooms that each contain 2 twin beds. Theres a full en-suite bathroom for the queen and one of the twin bedrooms and 1 half bath en-suite for the other twin bed room. downstairs also includes a second, smaller, living area. Please note that there is currently no interior stair between the 2 floors. Instead, access between the floors is via any of the 3 exterior stairs. We have been looking into ways to add an interior stair, so hope that in the future we may have an interior access between floors.

Family trip that included 9 grandchildren. So nice to be right on beach. House was very clean and spacious. Owner replied quickly when we had a question. All amenities provided. Will definitely plan to stay there again!

We absolutely loved our week on Edisto at the Surftide. We were 10 adults and had plenty of bedrooms/beds and bathrooms. The house was clean and cheery. The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils, plates, glasses and cookware. The table was large enough to comfortably seat all 10 of us with room to spare at the end to leave the puzzle set up. The outside deck was mere steps from the ocean. We enjoyed coffees and sunrises, cocktails at Happy Hour and even counted many shooting stars after dark, while sitting in the rockers and chairs that grace the deck. The beach is quiet and beautiful. There were so very few people on the beach near us, that we truly felt we were on a private beach. We were also fortunate enough to witness two nests of baby loggerhead turtles hatch 20 feet from the deck! What an incredible experience.

Beach House for Family Fun

Our group of 14 had plenty of space for rest and relaxation in Surftide. My favorite part was the large deck with roof right on the Atlantic. We also appreciated the outdoor showers, immense indoor dining table and 5 baths. Every question was answered quickly and fully. We would love to stay here again when we vacation at beautiful Edisto Beach again.

Beach charm

Just finished our annual family beach trip for our large extended tribe at this traditional beach home. This house is ideally located right on the ocean with forty feet of beach frontage and spacious decks for lounging and living. Plenty of indoor space also with a large dining area and a good sized kitchen. Parking for five cars. We greatly enjoyed our stay, and at least one of our family members said the 'best location yet.'

FANTASTIC Location, Property, and Hospitality/Service

This home is clean, comfortable, on the beach, and fully stocked! While this home can accommodate many guests, our stay was perfect with two adults and two dogs! The property manager is wonderful! He was very responsive, timely, and accommodating with anything we needed or asked. I highly recommend this property if you are looking for a peaceful, quiet, beachfront stay. We will definitely be back and are very much looking forward to it! Thank you for a wonderfully relaxing vacation!

Family time at Edisto

The rental process was simple. The house came supplied with lots of extras. Outside chairs, games for inside and out. Plenty of dishes and cooking utensils for our crew that loves yo cook. The back deck that faces the ocean was the perfect place to start and end our day.

Thanksgiving Family Gathering

Such a wonderful property! We should know… our family has been vacationing at Edisto for 45 years! This house was perfect for our matriarch, siblings and their families. Everyone had their own space and a big enough kitchen to prepare meals and feast for Thanksgiving. We loved the deck (star gazing at night was anmazing) and especially covered portion. The hot tub was a bonus for our younger crowd and they loved the apartment downstairs! It was great to walk right out to the beach and enjoy a walk and the waves. And it was dog friendly, a huge plus! We will definitely be back. Thanks for such an accommodating space!

Excellent beach front house for large families

Excellent location on the beach with great deck and hot tub to enjoy on cooler days. House is well stocked and laid out to support a mixed family vacation. Lack of interior stair was not an issue for us as the multiple exterior stairs are sturdy and contain relatively few steps (compared to more recently built houses that are more elevated). One note: driveway is short and steep and very close to the road so be aware depending on what type of vehicles you are bringing.

Great House for a Large Group

Rented the house to take our kids and their partners to our favorite beach. The house set up is perfect for a group. Bedrooms on each side with the living room and kitchen in the center. Lower level is its own apartment. Loved the rocking chairs on the deck. Furnishings were comfortable and perfect for a large group. We did have an issue in the house and notified the owner. They were very quick to respond and it was handled. Would definitely rent from them again.

Tommy and Will were wonderful with our family in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene—they cleared up the storm damage quickly under difficult circumstances. Instead of having to cancel our vacation they repaired damages and made sure the property was ready on time for our arrival. We enjoyed the upstairs deck for bird, boat, stars, and dolphin watching. The extra long dining table was great for meals, celebrations, and family games. From downstairs you could walk right onto the beach or sit in shade just feet away from the ocean and offered a private,fully equiped, unit for those wanting seclusion from the larger group. Many thanks to Will for all the swift follow ups in taking care of our requests.

Helpful and prompt owners

House met the needs of our family, and everyone enjoyed the stay. The owner, Mr. Smith, is one of the nicest proprietors we have ever dealt with. The kitchen was well stocked as were the bathrooms. The only issue I had was the downstairs laundry which can only be accessed by the outside stairwell. Perhaps, a washer and dryer could be added upstairs or a covered walkway to the downstairs. In light of everything that was so good, I guess that is a minor grumble. Thank you, Mr. Smith, for doing a great job of taking care of your "guests."

I wanted a vacation retreat that was easily accessible, yet still afforded my family the feeling of getting away. Edisto Beach is a great area, and I love the atmosphere of 'Edi-slow' - this is a laid-back, family-friendly locale.

What makes this property unique

Much of Edisto Island is under conservation easements, and will always remain unchanged. Surf Tide's open floorplan is perfect for extended families, or for several families vacationing together. With bedrooms on 2 separate floors, common areas on each floor, and an abundance of bathrooms, bedrooms, and activities, Surf Tide is ideal for multiple families or multiple generations vacationing together. It is located close to restaurants, the grocery store, and other local attractions.Unchanged and as beautiful and unspoiled as it has for years Edisto Island is the prefect place for a family getaway.
