Excellent retreat from COVID-19!
Excellent location and farmhouse! Lovely hosts with a nutty dog called Doty! Fully recommend the property if you want a quiet break in the middle of nowhere in our opinion this property is ideal. Didn’t travel far due to Covid 19 but had a lovely time around the pool and nightly BBQs! Description was incorrect on the website plus other reviews don’t seem to apply to this property but this of no fault of the owner Jane who was an excellent host.

Beautiful setting but cold pool and poorly equipped for comfort
The owner was very helpful whenever I had questions to ask and, whilst the property is situated in beautiful surroundings with grounds that are regularly maintained and a beautiful, though sadly unheated swimming pool, there are some issues within the house. The lighting throughout the property was poor. There was a lack of side lights for each bedroom and no main light in the upstairs bedrooms. Also one needed to hunt for a socket that worked, in order to plug in a side lamp for light in the upstairs bedroom. The worst thing about the property was that the beds were uncomfortable. The double bed upstairs, not the en-suite, you could feel the springs through the mattress. There was 1 baking tray for 8 people, 1 stained tea towel and NO tall glasses - we left 4 for the next guests. There was plenty of crockery but only 8 knives and forks so none to use while the others were in the dishwasher. The kitchen window handle came away in your hand, which made it very difficult to close, therefore we were trying not to open it, but this made it too hot!!! 2 other door handles were loose.

Well proportioned house, so plenty of space for all of us. Stunning views.
Really enjoyed our stay. So relaxing. Beautiful pool overlooking stunning countryside. Outdoor area with dining table, sofa and full sized table tennis table meant we spent long hours in the evening outside enjoying the views. Strongly recommend it.

Picturesque cottage in rural France
The cottage was spacious and lovely. The only downside was one of the beds left a lot to be desired. The cottage was in a beautiful area and was within easy driving distance of amenities. On a whole the holiday was an excellent break for a family of 7 with 5 adults and 2 children easily accommodated. Thanks

Stunning views & lovely area
We had a really lovely week staying at La Genvrie in July 2017. Prior to our visit we were rather disappointed to have an email from the owner stating that if we wanted bedding and towels we would have to pay extra for them. This was not on the original booking form so we were rather surprised. We were going by ferry so were able to take them with us, however it was more tricky for my sister and her husband who were flying with a 23kg limit between them. We arrived in beautiful sunshine and the directions given were great. The property is so pretty and the land and views around it are simply breathtaking. One of the reasons we booked this property was because it had air-conditioning upstairs, unfortunately on arrival it was apparent that it did not work. We called the care taker who did not speak English and then we called the owner. We were told that there were fans there for us to use. Thank goodness for the fans, even with them on full, one particular evening it was impossible to sleep. The pool area was wonderful - there were 6 of us and only 5 sunbeds so it wasn't a problem, but if you were a larger party you would struggle. The BBQ was very small for the size of the property. A bigger one would be much better. It was a challenge with 6of us! Great that there was an inflatable lilo for the pool. We bought a ball and left but there for others to use. The table tennis table was a hit. The covered gazebo area was wonderful to sit under at night (& in the day to stay out of the sun) - a great part of the property that we used masses. We found the "Welcome" info in the house about 6 days in as it was hidden away in a drawer instead of being out in the entrance as you arrive. No welcome pack of food provided like other properties we've stayed in, which was a shame. The pool and jacuzzi were wonderful although we did notice the chlorine levels were too high during our stay. They were not checked throughout the duration of our week there. Sitting in the jacuzzi or pool and looking at the surrounding countryside was simply fantastic. The kitchen was well equipped. Lots of cupboards!!! The lounge area was lovely and the electric shutters were a godsend when you needed to stop the sun coming in & heating the room. We loved our stay and would've loved another week there as you can NEVER get bored of that view. I think the owner could possibly do a few more things to welcome guests - maybe a phone call midweek would be a nice touch.
