Note that the driveway was recently re-excavated and dropped by 6'. Being a mountain cabin it's a rustic gravel driveway with a large gravel parking area. A new deck was built with a staircase. The staircase does not currently have railings yet. There's is a gravel ramp to the left but don't recommend for people with mobility issues.
The grass is generally not watered in the summer due to well water constraint. Golden like many towns has a labour shortage so not all this can be fixed right away if something were to occur.

About the host
Hosted by Property Manager/Owner
I'm an IT Project Manager and a father to a 5 and 7 year old. My wife Karen is a teacher at a Spanish Bilingual School. I'm originally from Vancouver Island and Karen is originally from El Salvador, but we reside in Calgary now. I built this home as I have always loved the area and the natural beauties that surround. My son at age 2 (who speaks more Spanish then I do) gave the house the name Casa Rocas because of the large rocks entering the driveway. I have responded to everyone's suggestions small or large and am a very active host ei: Bigger hot tub, fans in bedrooms, instructions for appliance etc. are examples to my responses in efforts to accommodate reasonable suggestions.
Why they chose this property
If this is your first experience in the Rockies, Golden is a great area as it is in the heart of a lot of the scenic tourist areas. 1.5h from Banff, 45 min to Lake Louise, 45 min to Radium Hot Springs and 1 hour to Revelstoke. Then Golden itself is a small gem. You don't have to worry about tour bus's flooding the streets.
I have stayed in many cabins/homes in the area and I recommend all of them. They all just accommodate a little differently. Having a young family, I'm naturally going to have things setup to keep my and other families happy ie: Den is a carpeted small room with bins of toys and Children books in bedrooms. I love to cook so I designed the kitchen exactly how I wanted it. I love the heat of a wood burning stove so I had one of the largest/most efficient stoves I could find installed. I love listening to music in the kitchen etc. so I setup a whole home audio system so you can listen to music throughout the house.
