Update: The Maui county council has approved the ban on short term rentals in areas like ours, but with an effective date of 12/31/2030. Hopefully this provides some clarity if you have been following this process and were concerned about booking in the next couple of years.
This Grand Champions - One bedroom condominium is just a short walk to the ocean. The ground floor unit features easy access and a reserved parking space in front of the unit. It features a large bedroom with a comfortable, king-size bed and a "fainting couch", a living room with a full size futon and a couch, a full kitchen, dining area, full bathroom with a two person shower and a tub, and a lanai featuring tropical garden views - with a waterfall and stream in the winter months when we get enough rain.. While it is a ground floor unit, the lanai is raised about six feet off ground level (no outside access). Floor space is approximately 900 square feet. See below for other details. This is one of the best units in the complex, quiet because it is on the edge of the property, and shaded for most of the day so it is cool even in the summer.
This is the most affordable, one bedroom condominium in one of the finest resorts in the world. You get a clean place to rest or hang out by the pool and you can walk to all of the other great stuff. The Grand Champions property features two pools with whirlpool spas, barbecue facilities and lush gardens. It is surrounded by Wailea's award winning Blue Golf Course and Tennis Club. Ranked in the top 50 best resort tennis facilities, the club boasts 11 plexi-pave courts, three lit courts for night play, a stadium court, paddle tennis and a full service pro shop. Guests will receive preferential golf rates/reservations at the Wailea and Makena courses.
Located in the heart of the Wailea Resort area, on Maui's sunny south shore, Grand Champions is just a short walk down the hill to the Shops at Wailea, and to two new shopping centers up the hill. Great places to eat in both. We are just from Ulua Beach (ranked eighth in the nation - world class snorkeling and diving too), Keawakapu, Mokapu, Ulua, Wailea Beach, and Polo Beaches, spa facilities and award winning restaurants. Grand Champions is a private enclave in the midst of Wailea that offers its guests all the wealth of this world-class resort's environment and a touch of seclusion that sets it quietly apart. The architecture is classic, the environment peaceful, the landscaping lush, and the views are exceptional - including the world's largest dormant volcano, Haleakala.
Kihei is a few minutes to the north. This is much more of a busy, touristy town. You can find lots of stores there to get groceries and other stuff; and some good, inexpensive restaurants. There is also a shopping center a few miles up the Piilani Highway, with a Safeway for food supplies..
Discover Hawaii's fascinating undersea world on a snorkel or dive trip. Explore the beautiful Hawaiian waters aboard a private yacht charter or observe nature on a whale watching tour. For those who would like to remain on land, Hawaii offers adventurous bike tours and eco-tourism hikes. Visit Ahihi-Kina'u Natural Area Reserve, Kealia Pond Wildlife Refuge, or the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale Sanctuary. Maui is a treasure of cultural and natural sights just waiting to be explored.
This condo is Non Smoking, including the lanai area.
Check in time is 3:00; check out time is 11:00. You MUST be out of the condo by 11:00 so it can be cleaned for the next occupant unless we have agreed to a late checkout in advance. Note that we do not provide shower/bath/cleaning products as most people prefer their own brands. And we just provide a "starter supply" of toilet paper and paper towels.
There are no pets allowed in the condo complex.
This unit is a condo, not a townhome. While there are no shared interior spaces, understand that as in hotels, the condo shares a wall/ceiling with two other condos. Since this is an end unit only one wall is shared, with another condo i own next to this one. As this condo is on the ground floor there is also a condo above you. The walls of my units have blown in soundproofing material to mitigate noise issues between them. Also like a hotel, there is a (double locked) connecting door between my two units which is not sound proofed and can also be a noise source. Please be aware of the potential for noise from adjacent units and at the same time be considerate of other guests, particularly at night.
Cancellations and refunds:
There is a 25% deposit to book the condo. Another 25% is due 60 days before arrival, The balance is due one month before arrival. If the balance is not paid at that time, the reservation may be canceled.
The condo is clearly advertised as “NON-SMOKING”, including the lanai. If you are found to have violated this, you will be charged an additional $250 cleaning fee.

All charges are subject to the combined Hawaii/Maui General Excise Tax of 4.712%, the Hawaii Transient Accommodations Tax of 11% and the Maui Transient Accommodations Tax of 3%. These taxes you pay are directly passed on to the state/county.

Our host was wonderful to work with. We stayed in another of his properties last year and had an enjoyable stay. The 1bd condo we stayed in this year was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The complex is so quiet and peaceful. We would highly recommend this unit and the studio next door.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is super convenient—close to multiple beaches and within walking distance to shops and restaurants, which was a big plus.The place was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. Check-in was easy, and the host was very helpful and responsive.
We loved the condo! Its beautiful . We felt right at home and Mark was a amazing host and always answers your emails and questions. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend. Aloha!
Condo basically clean. Really feel the condo owner should close condo for a week and thoroughly clean rattan furniture and decor. The “lanai” was a very small balcony with the wall air conditioner blowing hot air exhaust on you. Walls and floors not very sound proof. Felt like a hotel at 6 am noise-wise.The view on balcony was pretty. Everything is in walking distance. We love Wailea area though.
Within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops, and with a swimming pool two minutes away, all at a good price compared to most condos in the area. And the owner/manager responds quickly to all inquiries.

Nice place, all the conveniences of home. I have stayed at several units at Grand Champions and this is my favorite. I will come back and stay in this unit.
This unit is minutes from restaurants, the ocean walking trail, the gokf course and tennis courts. Mark came over on our first morning to welcome us s as nd make sure everything was in order.
The condo was great for 2 of us. We didn’t cook but the kitchen appeared to be well stocked. The bathroom was spacious as was the bedroom. The balcony was great to sit outside and enjoy the greenery and birds.
Bed is most comfortable. Everything was great with some exceptions. Better kitchen towels and a better couch in the living room would have gotten a 5 star rating

Although property is not on the beach, it is close to great Wailei beach. Many restaurants In the area. The unit itself is a bit outdated but everything is in good order and accommodating. The owner was helpful with our needs.
Just a few issues got resolved. Stay was nice. Room was very well equipped with all items

The condo and location were absolutely wonderful. We watched tropical birds in the garden from the lanai, walked to pretty beaches to see sunsets, walked to Happy Hour at close-by restaurants. The host was very responsive. The unit was very comfortable because of the ceiling fans and ACs. I can’t say enough good things about it.

Overall this condo is good. Location is great. Furniture needs to be updated-couch is worn so you sink into. Chair had a piece of plywood. More kitchen utensils are needed e.g. silverware. The owner was GREAT. Response time was fast and owner was very accommodating.

Internet pictures doesn't do this condo justice. It is much more than expected. It is a beautiful condo in a beautiful tropical setting. Mark and Kathy have thought of everything to make this home a wonderful retreat.

Why they chose this property
We purchased this condo, which is part of a 2 BR lockout unit, as our retirement home. Of course that hasn't happened as soon as we were expecting. We stayed in a similar unit one summer and fell in love with the area. We were looking for a place that would be great for vacations but also someplace that we could see ourselves living some day.
