Great Location in Historic District Beautiful Home Walk Everywhere

Located in the Cape May City Historic District, the "Fox Den" offers upscale comfort inside, and lovely outside living spaces. During the summer season, the home is a Sunday to Sunday (weekly) rental; our guests appreciate the reduced check in traffic! Off season we have a two night minimum stay. The two block walk to the historic district's Washington Street Mall makes the home ideal for long weekend activities during the Fall, Winter, and Spring. Walk two blocks more and you are at the beautiful Ocean Street Beach.

With 5 bedrooms and 4 full baths, it's a great vacation choice for large families, friends and couples. The open space first floor offers a great room with 50" flat screen TV, bar cabinet, well equipped kitchen, and a spacious dining area. Gather on the open air front porch or enter the “Tower Room" / inside porch for relaxing. The first floor also features three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The master suite (en suite full bath) has a king size bed and a day bed; a second bedroom has a queen bed; the third bedroom has two twin beds.

The home's second floor has a family room complete with a 60 inch TV, coffee/ wet bar (beverage refrigerator and microwave). Located on either side of the family room are two additional bedrooms . The second floor king master suite (en suite full bath) has a daybed; an additional bedroom with two twin beds and two sets of bunk beds sleeps 6. The home’s 4th full bathroom has a 2nd set of high efficiency (HE) washer and dryer.

A pack and play, stroller, high chair, and booster chair are provided for our younger guests. Relax in the gated rear yard with 2 patio area dining tables, Adirondack chair conversation pit, additional seating, and a propane gas grill. A changing room /outdoor shower (hot and cold water) completes the shore scene. At the Ocean Street beach, a beach box stocked with 8 beach chairs, 2 umbrellas, and beach toys is provided during the summer season. Additionally, a beach wagon and beach cart are provided for transporting beach towels, cooler etc. to and from the beach.

The "Fox Den" has parking for 3 cars in the driveway, plus un-metered street parking. Leave your cars parked; it takes minutes to walk to the beaches, parks, restaurants, theaters, food stores, bike rentals, mini golf, and more! LINENS and TOWELS ARE NOT INCLUDED WITH THE RENTAL. The Foxes Den was absolutely fabulous! We were a multigenerational group coming to visit Cape May for the annual Christmas parade weekend. The house was perfectly located , decorated beautifully for Christmas and appointed with all we needed to create lasting memories with our family and friends. The owners Colleen and Tom Fox were perfect in communications and were available if we needed and support during our stay. This was a beautifully appointed house that suited my family's needs perfectly. There was plenty of space inside and out for people to be on their own and the living room was large enough for us altogether and surprisingly safe for a toddler. The location was perfect for the teens and adults who could either walk or bike to the beach and everywhere else in town but for the family who had a one and a 2-year-old, It was a bit of a schlep. Overall, I would love to return to this house.

We grew up in the Philadelphia area and live in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Since purchasing our home we've offered our home to guests mainly during the summer months, but recently decided to rent out home off season also. Our growing family uses the family Cape May home throughout the year.
Recently, when we were away on vacation, we noted a quote which describes our rental experiences : "A stranger is a friend you haven't met yet. - Anonymous". We are appreciative of the many relationships developed with “guests” who have vacationed at the Fox Den. We welcome the chance to speak with you about our home and ask you to consider it as you make your vacation plans.

Why they chose this property

Because Cape May is uniquely a "year round" seashore community, our family fell in love with the town, the activities, and events offered throughout the four seasons. There is something to do for all four generations in our family. Since purchasing our home, we've been delighted that so many families make the "Fox Den" their vacation home year after year. From our experience, vacation time can create wonderful memories. We work hard to offer a great product with the hope that the "Fox Den" feels like a home away from home for you.

What makes this property unique

Our home feels beachy! Whether you are sitting on the porch, the comfy couches, or taking an outside shower under the stars, you know you are at a beach home on vacation. We appreciate that many of our guest choose the "Fox Den" year after year as their Cape May go-to place. Being able to walk anywhere in town is so enjoyable! Our grandkids love being able to walk to the beach, grocery store, ice cream shop, and mini golf. Our guests love being able to walk to restaurants, pick up a bottle of wine and relax in the backyard conversation pit after a busy Cape May day. Because there are bedrooms, laundry facilities, and family rooms on both floors, our home works for multiple generations or families.
