Accommodating your Dog
We are dog-friendly! Just include that you’re travelling with a dog in the Booking Summary under “Travellers” and check “I am travelling with pets”. You can view the pet fee under “Price Details” at the Book Now screen, under “Host Fees”.
There is a private area down at the suite for your pet to use. (Please pick up after it!) We ask guests to keep their dog in the suite area and not roam freely up in the garden.
The kitchenette includes our own freshly roasted coffee, assorted midnight snacks, teas, milk and bottled water in the fridge/freezer. A countertop convection oven/toaster and microwave are also included.
The location is conveniently close to amenities, Lookout Lake Park, Olympic View Golf course, hiking, Galloping Goose Trail, and about 8 minutes from the ocean with many off-leash beaches.
Our Dogs are very friendly! We share our home with two Bernese Mountain Dogs, Sophie and Teesha. They are very friendly, people-loving dogs and will be very excited to greet new guests. Give them a couple of minutes to quieten down when we come out to meet you on arrival.
For prospective guests that may not be comfortable around dogs, please let us know and we can try to find a way to accommodate you by keeping our pups inside at certain times. However, if any member of your party is frightened of dogs, our place may not be suitable to book.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Outstanding stay near the ocean—highly recommend! We had an absolutely wonderful stay here! The location is truly unbeatable, offering quick and easy access to the ocean and a fantastic selection of nearby restaurants. It was also the perfect base for exploring the area, being just a short, scenic drive into Sooke. The highlight of the accommodation itself was definitely the bed—it has a great mattress that provided some of the best sleep we've had while traveling. Everything was clean, convenient, and exactly as described. We would absolutely stay here again!

Thank you for the kind words, Elizabeth. We try to have everything the way we’d want it if we were away from home. It’s rewarding to know guests enjoy their stay at our place.
The suite was clean, spacious bedroom and living room, nicely decorated, very comfortable. Perfect bedding! Enjoyed sitting on the deck among the trees taking in the fabulous view. Enjoyed coffee made with freshly roasted beans - by host! The host was lovely and personable. I will for sure stay here again.

I’m glad you enjoyed your stay here. We always feel fortunate when guests get to experience a bit of west coast Canada with us.
It was a lovely evening and morning. Doug was extremely helpful in recommending a walk along the wharf last evening and a fun little place for breakfast this morning. The dogs are beauties and we had everything we needed from our arrival until we left this AM.
Beautiful setting, gracious host, everything was perfect. Would definitely love to return when temperatures a little warmer!

Location was initially a bit difficult to find but ok once located. Dogs on site are friendly but bark whenever entering or exiting. the suite was clean and well equipped for our stay.

To help future guests that have trouble finding our place, in addition to the photo of our entrance on our street already in the listing, and the step by step instructions that get sent on the day, we’ll try to find a way to help those drivers that don’t have a driving app or can’t access the VRBO app.
My lady and I loved staying here! Everything was very clean and the host was very helpful. His two big dogs were loud but very friendly. We had a private deck to ourselves with a swinging bench-chair that we could see a terrific view of the lake below and the hills beyond. Pretty much anything we wanted to drive to in Victoria was only about 30 minutes away. The parking was snug but doable, between the car and the room was a set of stairs that some might consider to be a bit steep. The owner provided coffee, milk and basic bathroom necessities. If I were to spend another night in the area, I would gladly spend it here again.
Beautiful views tucked within the hills. Doug was easy and pleasant to communicate with. The property is super nice, and the suite spacious. Would stay here again!
The property was welcoming to pets and I did not notice much of the lake view because we were always on the go when we were there. It was peaceful and clean and had everything we needed. The guest host was friendly and left us alone. I would stay there again and recommend this lovely place to anyone. Thank you for letting us stay there.
A great bang for your buck. If we ever need a BnB again I’ll for sure try to stay here. The owner is very friendly and his property is beautiful with a great view. Close to Sooke and Colwood and Skip would deliver if needed lol
This is a lovely place to stay. It was private and had a stunning view of the mountains and a little lake. We watched the sunset from the private patio. You also get the view from the bedroom and living room.
We really liked the bed. It was so comfortable that we slept 12 hours the first night.
It also had a nice small kitchen with a few goodies.
Very dog friendly.
Very comfortable suite and good accomodation for our dog. Owner provided very good directions and was there to greet us on arrival. Unfortunately the weather prevented us from enjoying the deck/patio attached to the suite which otherwise would have provided a private and scenic space in which to relax.
Nice clean and spacious..nice hosts, well appointed suite..

Why they chose this property
Even though we spread to be in the suburbs, we back into a lake and look out over mountains and wildlife. We fell in love with the arbutus in the front garden and the lake in the back!
What makes this property unique
Our home has some very relaxing spaces to enjoy nature, overlooking the ocean, lake, and mountains. Yet only 20 minutes from the big city and 5 minutes from most beaches and box stores.
