If you've experienced Minnesota's North Shore, you know the secret beauty that awaits. From hiking, skiing and the famous Gitchi-Gami Bike Trail, the only challenge is deciding what do first...that is, if you can peel yourself away from the private beach and your cup of coffee.

A one of a kind property on the north shore for our guests to enjoy in complete privacy.

In contrast to the rocky shoreline of most of Lake superior, this is the only property that has a sandy beach that is naturally black in color. Come experience it.

An amazing property with a private black sand beach with amazing lake and sky views. from the bedrooms, it almost felt like you were on a cruise ship due to the lake views! Very well-stocked kitchen (can cook a wide variety of dishes due to the plethora of cookware) as well as board games, books for kids, and a ton of great DVDs for movie night. The host was very responsive and a pleasure to communicate with. The separate sauna structure was lovely and a great addition to the stay. Build your bon fire on the beach and you will never want to leave! hands down the best property my family have stayed at. Do note that cell reception can be dicey but unplugging while at the house is an added benefit! Wi-fi worked great.

Our favorite place to stay on the North Shore

We've taken many trips and stayed at many places on the North Shore, but Black Beach is our favorite. We've stayed here multiple times. Beautiful location and perfectly spaced close to so many adventures.

Great spot!

We loved this cabin! The location was great, being very close to split rock lighthouse and other great hiking spots. The property itself was fun to explore and the black sand beach was a unique treat. Our kids had as much fun at the cabin as they did on our excursions nearby. Highly recommend!

Great Anniversary Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We had all the comforts of home and loved our evenings sitting in front of the fireplace with the sound of the waves coming in through the windows. It was a peaceful time away from the kids. We will definitely be visiting again.

Absolutely loved our stay at the Cabin! Everything was perfect. Very cozy warm and inviting. The views were amazing and the private beach was so beautiful. Would highly recommend and hope to go back again someday :)

Perfect Get-Away!

Nice private location. You have your own beach and plenty of supplied firewood for fires on the beach. The house was nice too. The kitchen was great and the bathrooms seemed like new.

A slice of heaven

This was our 2nd time staying here and we just love it! Adam was great with communication before and after our stay. The home is just lovely and it was so incredibly clean throughout. The beach was our favorite part. We were able to swim and play games on the beach. At night we toasted s’mores and hot dogs. We would spend the later evenings playing cards and games at the table. The beds are comfortable and there are so many items stocked to help make our stay enjoyable. We will be back next July!!

This home is a family cabin for us, 3 generations enjoy this property and there is something for everyone! Some of our favorites are searching for sea glass on the beach, hiking at Tettegouche and Split Rock, Heading to Lutsen for alpine slide and skiing in the winter. The Gitchi-Gami bike trail goes right by the house and is a favorite for the kids biking to the lighthouse or Beaver Bay for ice cream!
