About the host
Hosted by Shelby Mahan
We grew up in Camden and still consider this area "home", coming back every summer since leaving in 1995. Our children don't know a summer without coming to Maine and spending time on the lake. They say "Home is where the heart is" and this is definitely it for us!
Why they chose this property
We spent 14 years renting a variety of other properties on the lake, but jumped at the chance to buy this Lake House when it came on the market. It had all the space we could possibly ask for and was on one of the most beautiful parts of the lake we had always known and loved. After a winter of renovation we now have our "Happy Place"...
What makes this property unique
Looking out across the lake and straight onto Fernald's Neck Preserve ensures the best views are not impeded. Windows from every room in the house and western exposure brings the very best afternoon light and gorgeous sunsets. Plenty of space for everyone, even on a rainy day, with living areas up and down, loft area with games galore and huge couch in the reading nook area ensures comfort for all.
With spending so many years renting ourselves we have really tried to provide everything one could possibly want and need during a vacation. Just show up and start enjoying!
