Perfect for what we value.
We loved how the house was thoughtfully decorated, its location on the edge of town provided privacy yet very convenient to walk to the shops, restaurants and shuttle stop for skiing. Only suggestion for consideration is that we found the beds very firm, even for our children. We would definitely stay here again, in the Winter or Summer.

Thank you for your kind review and thoughtful suggestion. The mattress in the master is an Ecomfort organic medium firmness bamboo mattress with natural latex core. (I have bulged discs in my back from years of skiing w/backpack. It is the only mattress I have found that doesn't cause stiffness.) We have these mattresses in all of our beds at home including guest rooms and children's rooms. This is the first time we have heard it is "too firm".
The queen size bed in the downstairs guest room is a new pillowtop from Back at the Ranch in Gunnison. It is quite possible it has not softened up much yet because we do not rent our CB home more than 75-100 days/year. (Fewer renters minimizes the wear and tear damage to our house and keeps it in better condition for those who do stay. ;-) ) I will seriously consider changing that mattress when we are there over the summer.
As for the loft, agreed. The convertible futon, from DWR, is FIRM! The little one & pals frequently choose making a carpet "nest" over the couch. Adult friends/teens have found it to be fine if they lay a comforter down before sheets. We try to keep rentals to 4 or fewer people for those reasons.
Again, thank you for visiting and for your review! We will let you know if we swap out the queen bed mattress. Cheers!
Great location! Walking distance to several places. House was clean and very comfortable. We couldn’t figure out how to get TV going but we messaged owner and quick response to get it going! Property manager lives next door and was very nice and friendly. We will definitely stay here again!
Beautiful townhouse, check out the video Tony Hawk Crib on MTV. Host was very responsive and the property manager, Ted, lives close by and was very helpful.
We could’t enjoy the house anymore. In town but across from the woods. We love it. The property manager and his family are great. The house is very comfortable. We can’t wait to stay here many more summers.

Thank you for you kind comments! It really is the best street in town, with the best neighbors/property manager. So glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. Cheers!
First of all, this place is exactly what you’re looking for in CB! Close to bus stop, walkable to Elk Street, quiet edge of town with AMAZING stars at night! The place is so comfy inside too. The cherry on top though is the hospitality. Communication throughout the process was excellent , and we are so grateful. 10/10 would recommend!

Exceptional house, location and amenities
This home has everything! Perfect location on a deadend street facing the forest. A wonderful open living room/kitchen, two great porches to relax outside and enjoy the views. The beds are extremely comfortable with soft linens. We also enjoyed the steam shower in the master bedroom after a long day hiking. A picnic table out front to relax and soak up the sunshine or use the patio umbrella for shade. Would definitely want to stay here again. The owner has thought of everything to make our stay exceptional.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your time in CB! I hope the lil bird’s nest wasn’t too messy or loud on the “evening deck”. Please come again~ we love to share our home with you. Best wishes and happy travels! The Hawk Family
Overall enjoyed our stay at the property. Well-stocked, comfy beds and good location. Snow removal was very timely. The property could have been cleaner, given the rate we paid over the holidays. Things were dusty and I had to clean the kitchen sink and the inside of the refrigerator when we arrived. There were also burned out lightbulbs in several of the rooms. Not a bad experience, but I’ve stayed in cleaner rentals.

Thank you for letting us know about the light bulbs! Sorry it was dusty. Our place is cleaned after each rental, but we do not rent it very often and the Colorado dust settles in. We will make sure that it gets a second visit after being empty for a couple of weeks.
Such a treat to stay in #9 Beckwith! The house is terrific, just as described. And the property manager was a delight—the owner too! We’ll be back for sure.
This was a great house tucked away at the edge of town. It was very clean, had everything we needed, easy check in and check out process. Property manager was kind and accessible if we needed anything. The location was perfect for walking into town, hitting the Nordic trails or ice skating rink. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
Cozy/beautiful house - we lived every second. the neighbor Ted - super friendly. Had just a great time - hiking just 10 feet from the house - 2 blocks from food.
Property was well kept, pictures are very representative of the home. It was great! Kitchen was well stocked and there were cleaning supplies to help keep it tidy. Location was fabulous. Plenty of room for a family of 4. All amenities you would need and want in a vacation rental. Beds were very comfortable. Plenty of linens and towels for bathrooms. Lots of washcloths, cloth napkins, placemats for the kitchen. Many other amenities in the kitchen. We would love to stay in this home again!
We spent President's Day here and had a wonderful time. The location is AMAZING for Nordic skiing (the Bench trails are out the front door), which made it perfect for our family.
Our kids had a lot of fun board games too. The kitchen is well-stocked and had everything we needed for making most of our meals.
Nice area of town; bright living room with balconies.

Good house, bears
House was nice, good location...had a run in with a bear in the driveway because neighbor left food out. Great location, kids really enjoyed the play room. Check in was kind of a mess, and house was not a clean as one would expect after being told it needed 36hrs of cleaning due to CoVid.

Thank you for your helpful criticism. I am sorry you thought the house wasn’t up to standard this time. Our property manager had two other homes to flip, prior to our last minute decision, to try and accommodate your family’s search to extend your vacation. It’s been the busiest of summers in CB, despite the pandemic. In retrospect, I should have stuck with my initial declination of your reservation, so we could have gotten everything done. We will do our best to block out dates, and not accept such requests, in the future. I AM glad your children had fun in the loft! Yes! We do have bears almost every night of the summer, especially on trash night! Always clap your hands and make noise when walking home in the high country during the spring, summer, and fall. (And don’t forget to lock your car doors and home entry doors on the ground and second levels.)
Everything about the property is as described. Such a nice, quiet location in the northwest part of town, yet still a short walk to Elk Avenue. Lhotse is a very responsive owner and a pleasure to rent from. We were very comfortable and would certainly return!

Awe, thank you! I’m so glad you had a great stay. It’s certainly the sweetest and quietest street in town (aside from those silly bruins ;-) ) We hope you make it up again soon. Stay healthy and well, Lhotse Hawk
Our stay was over Christmas. The house is beautiful as is the location. We had a super relaxing time just hanging out on the comfy sofa watching Christmas movies, cooking delicious food in the well stocked kitchen, and getting to sleep in on the days we weren’t skiing. The bed and pillows in the master suite were very comfortable and the linens felt like a quality thread count. One of our favorite features of the house were the two separate patios off the living area as well as the master bathroom.
The property manager was a super nice guy and responded quickly.

About the host
Hosted by Ms. Lhotse Hawk
Lived in and loved Crested Butte since 1993. Skiers, travelers, and adventurers. Currently enjoying the best of both worlds alá Crested Butte, Colorado & San Diego, California. Be advised we do not rent the Beckwith Colorado home as often as many other local area rentals in an effort to keep the wear & tear factor as low as possible.
Why they chose this property
Crested Butte is the most beautiful place in Colorado. The town is charming, the skiing challenging, the views- breathtaking. Our property in Crested Butte is unique, charming, and located in the best spot! We would live here year-round (or at least 1/2 the year) if we could!
What makes this property unique
Custom details and hand carved spanish/western detailed interiors that are worth a look even if you weren't staying there! We have always been cautious not to 'over rent' our ski home, so our property is clean, beautiful, and fresh for your visit. Close to the bus stop, Elk Avenue, shopping and the best restaurants!
