Very spacious

Loved the house. It was neat and clean with a very large amount of room. The kitchen was a lot bigger than it looks in the pictures, most likely the angle of the picture causes the small look. The location was great and close to everything we needed for our stay. I would book again if I needed a place in the area!!! They also made it very easy to rent and were accommodating.

Great Experience

This was our first time ever to rent a home and it was a very positive experience! The house was very clean, beds very comfy, kitchen/living area very roomy. Communication with owner/agent was very good too. The grass outside had not be tended to and was high and unkept, but once we went inside, it was something we could totally overlook. Great location too, you have everything you could ever need within 5-10 minutes. Would stay again and would highly recommend!

So glad you enjoyed your stay! We have had a lot of rain in June and fertilized the yard, so I'm sorry that the grass was overgrown! We were only mowing every other week - so now I've hired someone to mow every week. Hopefully, this will improve the long grass problem! Carolyn

Perfect Location

Right on the outskirts of Dallas, this house perfectly served its purpose. checkin was smooth and easy.. They had everything we needed for our stay including cleaning products. The house was nice and clean.. the kitchen makes me want to start remodeling mine! The master bed was sooooo comfortable! Lots of space.. It rained all weekend but the backyard is huge and perfect for kids. About 7 minutes from walmart..! I will rent again if i ever need this kind of space in the dallas area!!

Nice remodel and much more spacious than a hotel!

Carolyn was easy to deal with. Nice large yard if needed for kids. Garage to park your car if you like. Nicely stocked kitchen for cooking so you don't have to spend your whole time there in restaurants. There is a good cafe within walking distance should you want to have a nice breakfast! Many places to eat closely if you don't want to cook. Very clean, and comfortable. Also, a nice room in the front which works out well for an office as i always need one when i travel. Large Flat Screen TV. The entire house is remodeled and there are two bathrooms and three bedrooms - one bedroom has an extra bed so good for families. Home away from home

Or in our case, home while waiting for our new home. I needed a place for my family during the transition of a state to state move. We wanted a house as cooping two children up in a hotel room for 10 days isn't a great option. This worked really well for us; good space, nice and quiet. While I worked the family was able to familiarize themselves with the area. Terri was wonderful to work with. She's extremely responsive and helpful. Extra special thank you to her.

This review is delayed but it appears the same issues are reoccurring. In doing our business taxes for 2017, we are revisiting the experience and the expense. I planned to stay in this house for 3 1/2 weeks in October-November of 2017 for work training but left after a handful of days. While I at first appreciated the owners attempts to fix the problems that occurred there were new issues as time went on and we were two women staying on our own, for an extended stay, and we had to go for safety and comfort issues. Items that were issues- Garage door remote, lack of hot water (cold shower in master bath even though there was a note posted for how to use), wi-fi issues (we fell behind in work and training when we had no access), front door knob fell off, door did not seal properly, busy road at the end of the house, candles needed for musty smell upon arrival. We reported the bigger issues to the owner/property manager and let other smaller ones slide. Because they seemed to be nice people it was easy to think that we were just having an unusual experience. We packed up and left the house without researching the potential financial outcome and did not come back. I hoped the owner would refund the entire remainder of the stay since the house truly did not match the description or the positive reviews and because of the number of issues we faced. Instead I was told that I was wrong and that the water worked fine when it was checked after we left. This is just not the case. I did not have a single hot shower in the days spent there. I would love to hear directly from any of the people that gave the property 3+ stars. It could be a lovely property if treated well and the owner may be struggling but given our interactions and all of the excuses please avoid. We found a very nice house to stay in for the remaining three weeks that we felt safe in and would not change the decision to leave. It cost less and was clean and functioning. A tad bit more of a drive to our training locations but well worth it. Seeing the most recent review only confirms our decision.

Please see my good reviews. We have a clean, well-kept home. This house was completely remodeled just a couple of years ago - hardwood floors throughout, new bathrooms, new kitchen, even new sheetrock and venting systems. With houses there can always be a maintenance issue - such as the doorknob that broke (that's true, but we ran right over and replaced it!) We take great pride in fixing things that happen just as you or I do in our own homes. In the master shower there is a single water control - turn it all the way and it's cold. Turn it just a little and it's hot. Turn it halfway and it's nice and warm. The shower works, and always has. I'm really sorry that Katherine says she couldn't figure it out. Carolyn

Not sure how I feel about it.

I was in town for my son’s wedding and needed a place to accommodate 4 adults. The first night my daughter and I found what looked like a mouse dropping when we pulled back the sheets in the master bedroom. Well the 3rd day we realized that a mouse had been munching on a peanut butter/chocolate Twinkie that was in the package on the kitchen counter, and then found more evidence the last night with a hole in a bag that was left on the kitchen counter as well, gross. Never could get WiFi (none of us) so we quickly used up all of the data on our phones quickly and the water could have been a little warmer for showers. Just made the best of it because it was my son’s special day and we travelled all of the way from Ohio. Other than that it would have received a better rating!

Great experience!

Stayed in Magnolia House for 7 months. House was home and we'll equipped. Owner and property manager were always easy to reach and addressed concerns immediately. Would highly recommend this property.

Extremely well appointed, spacious and clean

We found this house extremely well appointed, very spacious and clean. It was well maintained in every aspect. As visitors from the UK, we particularly appreciated the fridge having an integrated water filter and ice maker! We had a hire car and used this house as a convenient base to visit various places in Northern Texas. More locally, there are lots of great shops and places to eat. We loved the Walmart Supercenter, Cabela's (sports shop), large craft stores and of course Allen Premium Outlet, all of which are within 10 minutes of the house. The Property Manager was helpful and responsive. I have literally no criticisms of this property, everything was perfect and we had a great week in Texas.

Poor maintenance took 3 wks to cut grass had problems chiggers

Had to take my son to doctors due to chigger bits. Lawn was 1 1/2 ft high took owner 3 wks to cut. Everyone in the house was bitten. Poor response by owner to the problem.

We have hired a professional lawn service and the yard looks so much better. Chiggers are in the neighborhood and they are a constant battle, but I think we are winning. Also, no chiggers once the weather is cooler. Carolyn

Furniture in den old uncomfortable, chairs broken but bedrooms nice.

When we arrived we were afraid lawn tall due to nonstop rain. Mr Joe came next morning and cut after we called. The refrigerator made noise repairman came another refrigerator was in garage. A lot of things in garage had to be careful with automobile in and out but had a closed garage and it rained. Last flights were delayed because of rain we checked in late. Hard to see code numbers because it was dark. Need to put a sensor light to cut down on electricity and help Night access. Last the owners worked nonstop to make it right only suggestion to do sofa and chair in den and kitchen please fit and change the large chair also made noise.

As to an outside sensor light - there is one! The switch is in the garage and gets turned off sometimes, but I'll ask my cleaning people to make sure it's on when they clean. Also, I replaced the kitchen chairs & they are quite sturdy. Carolyn

Good location, and nice property, but only sleeps 7

The house was a perfect location and was close to many things. It fit our needs, but thankfully we only had 7 people in our party. The listing says "sleeps 8", but you can only get 8 if someone sleeps on the couch. Property was clean, kitchen was nice. Would stay again the next time in Allen, TX.

Great place to stay if in the Dallas area

Nothing extra fancy here, just a plain 3 bedroom house that worked great for our 1 week stay. Owner was great to work with, we wanted to host some friends that came from out of town to our daughters wedding, and owner helped with getting some extra chairs and tables already in garage when we got there. I have used VRBO for over 15 years and this house offered some extras we never had before, spices and simple necessities in the kitchen, shampoo and conditioner, plenty of tissue, laundry soap, dishwasher soap and other little items you don't normally get. lots of room to sit and relax. Couple notes to owner, could use a can opener and a pizza cutter. We also had a little problem with front door lock. Otherwise, thank you and we will likely stay again.

Centrally located and Comfortable Stay

We rented this property to host out of town guests for 2 weeks. Our guests were very impressed with the amenities and self contained nature of their stay at this property. The owners were very organized and responsive to work with. Good property to consider for a family or couple of guests to stay in for short vacations.

Felt like home!

Our family enjoyed this home away from home for 5 days. We had 4 adults, a teen, and pre-teen stay there. The home was just the right size, newly remodeled, and a perfect fit for our needs. The home was exactly what was listed. We found everything to be impeccably clean, and aside from a few of minor details (screen door difficult to use, could use a couple extra chairs, and outdated pots and pans) it is very well maintained. The master bedroom and bath are gorgeous! The owner/property manager had some cooking spices available for us to use, and the kids found some special treats in the freezer... they were thrilled! Being able to cook saved us a lot of money on this trip, and we were able to do some extra things with the kids as a result. We received wonderful customer service form Carolyn, and are very pleased with the check in & out procedure. There were games available for the family to use, this was a huge hit! It truly felt like home. This home is in a city. There is a police department a very short distance (bonus), and traffic on the main road. HOWEVER, as a family from the country in central Minnesota, we had no issues with the "city noises". The beds were comfy and the home was well stocked with linens! Having a washer and dryer was a huge bonus for us as we made the decision to book this VRBO versus a hotel room! We found it to be a great little getaway as we explored the greater DFW area. The home is close to DFW, and within an hour or so of all of the places we wanted to visit. We visited the Dallas Karting Complex (FUN!), many wonderful roadside BBQ's, enjoyed shopping at Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm, and we LOVED the pizza and atmosphere at Grimaldi's pizza! We all enjoyed Celebration park... it is HUGE and beautiful! We would recommend this property to anyone, and if the opportunity presents itself in the future, we will come back! Thank you for a wonderful retreat! It truly felt like we were at home! Thank you for a wonderful place for our family to call home during our first out of state vacation! We LOVED it!

Based on your suggestion, I've added a new set of stainless pans & a couple of non-stick skillets. I also added a couple of extra chairs around the house - now there's one in each bedroom and 2 extras in the living room that you can pull up to the table for a bigger group. Beautiful!

We traveled from Indiana to visit family for a week in Texas. The home is beautiful and spacious! The surrounding area has plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, etc. I would highly recommend staying at Magnolia House!

Excellent first time VRBO experience

This was my first stay in a VRBO home. I stayed there with family who were from out of town also. We were there for our niece's wedding. This was far superior to a hotel. I would highly recommend VRBO for families getting together for a family event. And the Magnolia House exceeded my expectations. It was clean... as a matter a fact, it looked new and hardly used! It was convenient... more convenient than a hotel for parking, checking in, checking out, getting around town. I'm a fan!

Home Away From Home

What a wonderful stay! We were in Plano for the holidays visiting family and the owners arranged to have a Christmas tree waiting for us. We enjoyed decorating the tree and cooking in the fabulous well-appointed kitchen. The description was right on target. The completely renovated home was centrally located to stores for last minute shopping. We found the property clean and well-maintained. Plenty of closet space. Would definitely stay again.

remodeled and clean

We were there for a baseball tournament for our son, and stayed there with 3 kids. Everything in the kitchen and bathrooms was completely new and the whole place has been remodeled. It was clean and comfortable. Great location, near the highway and a number of other fun things for our family including a pool and wakeboard park. I would stay here again!
