4 Br Lake George Waterfront Home W/ Dock, Rocking Porch, & Spectacular View
"Fernwood" is a well kept classic 4 br 2 bath Adirondack log and stone home on the lake with everything you need for a relaxing stay with family and friends. 1 mile north of the Silver Bay Association, originally built in the 40's and added onto in the 70's, the current owners have been diligent in updating and improving the home and property since purchasing it in 1987. Main floor has a galley kit, encl dining porch with views of the lake, living/dining rm w/ classic stone fp and cathedral ceiling. Like all great lake homes, there is the classic wooden screen door to the large covered porch with 6 Adirondack rockers and a pedestal table for enjoying lunch or cocktails in the warm breeze. Lower lvl living rm has a pullout couch, big views, and access to sunny slate patio with Adirondack chairs and a hammock overlooking the lake. Bedrooms: 1st floor has a full bath, 2 twins, 1 queen bed in south facing brdm. Second floor has bath with shower, queen bed rm, and the master w custom framed queen bed and cathedral ceiling and windows overlooking the lake. All bedrooms have window A/C units. Outside is a sloping lawn down to the water, with a level area for sunning, a dock for <24' boat, offshore swim float, 2 kayaks, canoe. There is also a detached garage, nice gardens, hammock, gas grill, outdoor fireplace, & of course that incredible view. There is no beach, but a soft sandy bottom, and the only access and egress to the water is from the dock. The dock has 2 ladders. The water is knee deep at the waters edge with a steep rocky embankment, not suitable for dogs. Speaking of dogs, one dog is allowed for an extra fee, and we will need to know breed, age, size of dog before approval. The house/property has a neat comfortable vibe. Plenty of indoor and outdoor games, and separate areas to chat, read, nap. There is a 4 night minimum stay, and most June, July, and Aug weeks are 6 nights. Check-in on Sunday, out on Saturday. We will do all we can to accommodate your schedule. We use an outside cleaning crew to clean the house after each group stay. They are instructed to follow CDC and WHO guidelines on safety, cleaning, and disinfecting.

It was a beautiful time to be at the Lake. Very little boat traffic. Still warm enough to swim. Really enjoyed the nights on the porch listening to the loons.
Great location and lot. House was very clean with a fully equipped kitchen. Lots of fun extras like board games, corn hole, floats, and fire pit. The friendship trail through the neighborhood was a nice stroll with my ten year old dog. I would definitely stay here again.
Had a wonderful and relaxing stay with family, friends and our dog. Owners were super responsive and location is beautiful. Rented a boat for the week and having it right at the dock was great. Super bass fishing right across the lake and did some waterskiing and toured the lake. Would reccomend and would definitely come back.
We have visited the area for a family reunion for maybe 26 years and this rental is our favorite. It’s rustic Adirondack and comfortable and has everything we could need, including great views and swimming. The host could not be more helpful and available.

Thank you Terry. We hope to see you next year. Cheers! Geoff
Lovely, quiet spot on the lake. We used our own boat daily, which we launched at Roger’s Rock Campground and kept docked at the house. The canoe and kayaks were also used plenty in those moments of calm quiet waters, watching the loons and taking in all the scenery. We warmed up by the outside fire hearth after swimming on the cooler evenings. We even enjoyed playing scrabble on the side patio.Geoff was always responsive to our questions and helped make our stay most welcome.“Fernwood” felt like we were staying in an older family cabin, with lots of cooking utensils and basic necessities to cook meals every night. We brought a lot of groceries for our stay, so we only needed to resupply in Ticonderoga once during our week stay. The cabin has a mix of renovated areas, with some spots still in need of an upgrade, but overall this is a cozy stay on the lake.
This was the perfect spot for our family to enjoy a week on Lake George! The Bay on which the house is located is deep enough to safely dock a boat, but also shallow enough for our tween kids to stand by the end of the dock. the bottom of the lake in this bay is sandy, which is really nice. the house overlooks Skipper and Pudding Island and it was fun to paddle board around them in the morning before the lake got too choppy. The home is cozy yet spacious and the deck overlooking the lake was a great place for our elder family members to watch the lake activities. It was also the perfect place to watch a thunderstorm role down the lake! The home was private without feeling secluded as it is conveniently located close to the Silver Bay Store, Martucci’s Restaurant, and just a short drive from Hague. Go to Marinelli’s in Ti for some steaks to throw on the grill (but note they are closed on Sundays & Mondays). Nadeau’s farmstand has the best corn on the cob to go along with those steaks! Eddie’s Restaurant is always a crowd pleaser - they’ve been serving wonderful dinners for as long as I can remember! A fun rainy day activity was the Escape Room in Lake George - you can book ahead! We are so thankful to have enjoyed this lovely home and We hope to come back next year!
Fernwood was the perfect place for our family to get away from it all this summer. The property is fairly secluded and right on the water's edge. The dock is perfect for swimming or mooring a 16-20 ft power boat, and the owner's have graciously provided kayaks and a canoe for your paddling pleasure! The kids absolutely loved being able to swim out to the floating raft about 50-75 feet off the end of the dock and it served as a nice retreat for adults on an early morning swim as well. The fire pit and provided firewood were a fantastic touch and we enjoyed a nice fire by the water each evening.
The proximity to the Friendship trail makes for easy walks into Silver Bay to the South, or Arcady to the North. The Silver Bay General store is just a minute up the road for last minute supplies and getting to Bolton Landing is relatively easy if you want to do a bit of light shopping.
While the house is well equipped with just about anything you can imagine, don't expect the Ritz when staying at Fernwood. It is a true Adirondack Camp and, if understand that going in, you will have the time of your life. That said, if you are expecting 1,000 thread count sheets, steam showers, and Wustoff knives, you might be a tad disappointed (but that's not what the Northern End of Lake George is all about).
We will definitely be back!

Excellent location, All about the Lake and associated activities. Privacy is nice. Close to General store, golf, Ticonderoga and Bolton's landing. Hosts are accommodating and House is got everything you need for a comfortable and fantastic vacation.

Beautiful, relaxing and comfortable Adirondack style home with everything we needed. View of lake and mountains was perfect and ever changing. We swam several times a day and kayaked. Right next to Silver Bay and just 5 minutes from Hague. We will definitely return.
My family and I had an amazing time at Fernwood! The location is perfect, right on the water and nicely secluded. There was ample information in the guidebooks to make your stay as smooth as possible.
I love this spot. Been here for the past two years with rentals after Labor day. Owners are attentive and eager to make your stay a wonderful one. Plenty of seating space. Nice Outdoor Fire pit. Beautiful quiet cove for swimming, boating and fishing. Far enough from main drive so dog can run free with minimal supervision. Two refridgerator/freezers for extra convienence. Lookiing forward to going this year.
Phenomenal locaton, bonus having our own dock. Great child and dog safe porch. Shower was fine (hot water & sufficient pressure) .... Would rent here again in a minute.
The location was great- very quiet. It was wonderful to swim in the lake and kayak! The view from the deck was amazing, and nice to be able to enjoy it rain or shine.
