Experience the beauty of Cape Breton in this lovely Acadian waterfront house on four unspoiled acres overlooking the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

Spectacular ocean and mountain views, fabulous sunsets. Private and quiet. Whales, moose, bald eagles, and seals are your frequent companions.

Walk 300 meters down a private pathway to your own ocean beach, with seaside mountain cliffs in the distance. Take a 15-minute walk to the local Acadian bakery for fresh croissants with your morning coffee. Walk 15 minutes to a freshwater lake and river, and nearby playground.

Drive on the famous Cabot Trail, one of Canada's most famous scenic routes, just minutes from our front door. Drive north 5 minutes to the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, with its hiking trails, waterfalls, picnic areas, breathtaking vistas and wildlife.

You'll be a 5-minute drive south to Cheticamp, with its world-famous music, restaurants and seafood. The historic town has a cafe, grocery co-op, farmers market, and liquor store. You can even go on a whale-watching cruise from the marina!

House Details: 3 upstairs bedrooms, and a full-size long sofa bed in downstairs living room. Sleeps 5. One bathroom upstairs with shower. Large deck with ocean views, and a fire pit in the spacious yard. Modern no-charge washer and dryer. Full kitchen with supplies. A 10,000 BTU portable air conditioning unit is available for use downstairs. All windows have screens and can open/latch.

Free high-speed 1.5Gb/s fiber internet -- sufficient for video conferencing and streaming. Spacious outdoor parking and available Tesla EV charger. Note: there is no television or dishwasher. There is a floodlight/security camera facing the driveway only.

Caretakers Roger and Priscille live in the area (Roger was born in this very house!). They will meet new arrivals and be available for any and all questions and assistance in English or in French.

We invite you stay in our favorite place in the world. We have three young kids and have built so many memories over the years visiting this special cottage. Cheticamp has become our second home: we love to spend our summers running around the grassy yard, basking in the sun, playing by the beach, spending evenings by the fire pit, and exploring the Cape Breton Highlands each day.

Having vacationed ourselves in this house years ago, we fell in love with the place and purchased the property ourselves a few years ago. We welcome you to experience our special Cottage on Sunset Lane -- we know you will love this slice of Cape Breton as much as we do.

What makes this property unique

This property is unique in the area: it's secluded from neighbors yet within a few minutes' drive from everything Cheticamp has to offer. You can walk to the beach. The ocean is right out the front windows. And it's a classic Acadian cottage.
