This property was beautiful, I stayed with my bridesmaid the night before and then my new husband the night of our wedding. It was a nice small quiet spot and was easy to relax and communication with the owner was great. She was such and amazing host and even left us a wedding card! If we had brought our dog with us it would have been a good spot for a pet!! Would definitely recommend this place and host! Thank you so much!!
Had the pleasure of staying at this lovely cottage during a horse show weekend. Location was ideal between where horses were stabled and show grounds. After long and hot days, coming back here felt like a home away from home and we could rest, relax and recharge! Bonnie is a top notch host and we felt super welcomed!
The property was not clean. There constant bug infestations of all kinds. The property clearly not been maintained in a high state of cleanliness for some time prior to our arrival. The owner relentlessly contacted me during the stay to keep coming by for reasons that could’ve waited until we departed or been taken care prior to our arrival. I eventually agreed to manually water the owners property daily in hopes of keeping her away, which I did, but was still unsuccessful. The entire stay was not enjoyable. The 10 mile daily drive to the local town amenities became very tedious, but because of the property conditions we were unable to prepare any meals in the kitchen for fear of the unsanitary conditions. While it was a peaceful area to just relax, relaxation wasn’t achieved because of the overall conditions. I would not recommend this property to anyone going forward, until the owner places more emphasis on providing a much better experience for the money charged.

Wow! I apologize for not responding to your review earlier, but you never expressed any of these concerns to me while you were on the property, so I never knew you weren't happy We only had friendly conversations. It is a country property and there are bugs in the South. I certainly would've called pest control if I'd known there was an issue. I can't solve a problem if I'm not aware there is one. The cottage has always been maintained and cleaned to the highest standards and in the years the cottage has been available, we have only had the most positive reviews. Your comments about the kitchen not being fit to cook in, are completely unrealistic.
I do recall that new sod had recently been put down in the back yard and new landscaping done on the side of the house, which is why I was trying to keep everything watered. I had planned to do it myself once a week, but because I couldn't get access to the back yard because of your 4 Rottweilers, you offered to water for me. At no time did you tell me that it was an inconvenience or that there were any problems with the house.
As I recall, my several visits to the house when you arrived were to help your wife get her computer hooked up to the Internet. I do recall that your wife was not happy being 'in the country' from the very beginning.
I'm very sorry for your poor experience.
Cute house in lovely area convenient to the state park, birdwatching & hiking. The host was very responsive and thoughtful. The kitchen was well set up with everything you needed for cooking. We enjoyed sitting in the backyard bird watching, watching the sunset from the front porch and walking around the neighborhood.
The cottage was very cute and had everything you would would need. We tend to travel pretty self sufficient, but for anyone else you would need nothing! Out pup Lacy loved the grounds; squirrels & rabbits galore.
The action in Aiken was very close and we enjoyed that daily.
Our host, Bonnie, was excellent in commucations.
Great backroads country cottage. Very clean. Well stocked kitchen and bathroom. Lovely outdoor space...privacy fenced. Perfect for traveling with pets! Host was very friendly and communicated well
This cozy cottage welcomes you the minute you walk in the door. Serene and peaceful location, but just minutes to dining, shopping, and all things Aiken. The owner, Bonnie has updated the home complete with divine kitchen and bath! My dog loved the fenced yard, and my indoor cat even went out there and got a suntan, too. Bonnie, it was a truly delightful stay in your home.
Several of us came into town for the Masters and to enjoy a Spring week in South Carolina. This was our comfortable home away from home for three days. Everything was perfect for us (4) to spread out and our host took great care to give us all the information we needed along with some treats. If back in the area we’ll try to stay here again!
The cottage was very clean and the remodeling job is outstanding. The A/C was set low which was great given the heat wave the region was experiencing when we were there. Excellent communication with the owner. Very close to quaint Aiken downtown area.
