Quaint, Clean & Updated Cottage- Steps From The Beach.

Welcome to the beautiful Lake n Huron beach town of Port Franks, minutes away from the Pinery Provincial Park and a short 15 minutes drive to Grand Bend.

Situated on a quiet street, a short walk of approximately 600 meters takes you to the glorious sandy beach and lake with shallow waters perfect for young children and families.

This gorgeous open concept two-storey year-round cottage features an abundance of natural light, updated kitchen/baths, spacious upper deck and outdoor shower and patio. The kids will enjoy the newer cedar Bunkie only 20' from the back door of the cottage, together with area to safely roam the hills and outdoor play. A horseshoe pit with two outdoor fire pits are sure to delight.

The main cottage offers 4 bedrooms and two full bathrooms with space and privacy. It can sleep 12-14 people. The master bedroom has a Queen bed while the other 2 bedroom have doubles. There is one bunk bed as well as a single bed in the forth bedroom.

A combination of vinyl plank and ceramic flooring are easy to clean up after a day at the beach allowing for relaxing time on the upper deck to enjoy the renowned Lake Huron sunsets!

The cottage is being rented furnished. The driveway easily accommodates up o 8 vehicles.

Near by amenities include many golf courses, bike trails, and restaurants, variety, liquor and grocery stores. Port Franks has three boating marinas.
This reservation has a Firm cancellation policy - refunds will be issued up to 60 days prior to the check in date.
A 100% refund is provided for travellers cancelling at least 60 days before check-in. A 50% refund is provided for travellers cancelling from 30 to 59 days before check-in. No refunds are provided for travellers cancelling less than 30 days prior to check-in. CanadaStays Booking Fees are refundable if you cancel within 48 hours of placing your booking request.

Great stay at this cute cottage! We stayed over winter holidays with family and had a lovely time! The fact we could bring our dogs was amazing. And we even managed to cook a full turkey dinner in the kitchen it’s well stocked!The kids loved sharing a room with the bunk beds and walking to the beach! Would reccomend!:)

Cute and cozy

This was a great stay. The house was clean and spacious. The outdoor shower was a cute feature. I would only suggest a fridge or a freezer for food space, but otherwise, we had an amazing time.

Summer Beach Fun

This property perfectly suits our extended family — 5 adults & 3 children. The proximity of the well-appointed cottage to the private Lake Huron beach is why we keep coming back to Port Franks. The beautiful sand dunes and clear lake water means that we make several trips a day for summer beach fun.

We had a good week. Great location and private beach is perfect for families. The cottage is basic and could use a little TLC. Missing towel rack in bathroom, a few of the games were missing pieces and the BBQ was quite dirty and needed a good cleaning. All in all a nice place but not a 5 star.

Hello Susan! Thank you so much for choosing our cottage to stay at this past week. I am sorry if there were a couple things you were unhappy about. My cleaning staff will be cleaning the BBQ thoroughly to ensure it is in good standing going forward. The guests before you let us know about the towel rack when they checked out. My cleaning staff did put it back up but it must have fallen again. This will be looked after right away. As well, we can certainly replace the games. It is hard to keep track of the pieces when we have renters week after week during the summer. So thank you for letting us know about that. We take pride in our cottage and so appreciate all the feedback. It is the only way we can make it better :) Wishing you an amazing rest of your summer!!

Beach cottage with a large group

This cottage had prime location within a quick walk to beach. Plenty of hot water left even when the last person in the group had a shower!!!! The outdoor shower is a nice perk too. Lots of space in the bathrooms and great bedroom options. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the appliances, cutlery, dish towels and soap we needed. Communication with the owner was always prompt. We had a great vacation!

2022 - Another Great Vacay in Port Franks

August 2022 was our second year staying in this perfect Port Franks cottage. The cottage satisfies all of our needs…and more. It is well appointed with an excellent layout and the cottage comes with upgraded appliances and all the bedding is included. The proximity to the private beach (<1km) meant that we made 2-3 trips to the exeptional beach every day. I think that we will be booking our third summer trip in 2023.

Getaway

Cottage style for sure, just what we wanted, clean, had everything, great deck for the dogs. Nice walk to the awesome beach. Not all the kids could make it due to unforseen circumstances. Some were there for part of the week, and the two of us enjoyed the peace and quiet and seclusion. Enjoyed touring the area wineries, Bayfield, Grand Bend and really enjoyed Grogs Restaurant. Nice spot!

Variety is Spice of Life

The property was enjoyed by many groupings of adult family and friends. Be it a visit for an afternoon or a multi-day stay, it was comfortable and well appointed. So much parking. An easy to use kitchen. Places to play games, relax, very comfortable. Laundry! So easy to get to the beach, an area with many birds and animals, and other attractions such as Bayfield and the Pinery. Only suggestions would be improved safety railing on inside stairs. Improved information about area and expectations re cleaning, garbage disposal, etc would be appreciated

Quaint, but enough beds for our 9 family members!

Enjoyed the upgraded frig and stove, dishes and many extras! in the kitchen, but not much room for our snacks and food that we brought! We needed more seating for our family of 9 in the upstairs room, so brought some chairs up from downstairs which worked! Also, a gate would be GREAT on the side of the cottage, so the dogs can't get out, but we found a way to block it off! It certainly served our needs and we have booked the cottage again for next year.....loved that the beach was so close, and enjoyed the large deck, even though the weather really didn't co-operate!

A Perfect End to Summer 2021 in Port Franks

Our Port Franks cottage exceeded our expectations many times over. The property was off a quiet road, sheltered by huge mature trees, and provided a level of comfort and space that was a genuine surprise. We particularly enjoyed the proximity to a pristine, sandy beach that occupied our three children (9,7,5) for hours every day. And, the beach was only a 7-minute walk from the cottage. We will be back!

Great location with a rustic cottage feel

The place is nice and close to the beach and the amount of sand to water ratio is fantastic. Grand Bend has less shore and more rocks and this beach was nice and sandy with tons of sunbathing and sand castle making space. The kids could play really far out in the water without any concerns of a large drop off. The outdoor shower and the deck were the best features. Especially to hose down the dogs before letting them dry on the deck to come back in. A gate would’ve been an awesome feature to keep the dog on the deck without risk of them wandering but we came up with a solution for that. Definitely bring beach towels. The bath towels and bed linens and pillows are stocked. You may want to bring an outdoor blanket for the fire pit (there’s only 1, not 2) or to hang on the back deck at night. Bug spray is a good idea too. The bunk house is very hot so I wouldn’t recommend it for sleeping or playing with the humidity we’ve been getting. Basement couch is great place to sleep as well if you need an extra bed or the double or queen size isn’t big enough for two adults. A few items are broken (blind cords, foot plank in the outdoor shower) and there is no game console as the hook up cords are missing. I would recommend bringing an Apple TV or DVD player to use the basement tv. Upstairs tv has a VCR/DVD combo that we were able to hook up and get working as well as access to most streaming apps. There are a few plastic plates and cups, but no plastic bowls. So you’ll want to bring those if you have small kids that you don’t want using ceramic bowls. I don’t think the cleaning fee goes a long way as the place wasn’t as clean as other places we’ve rented in the past. It wasn’t gross, so don’t get me wrong, but I would not have thought it was professionally cleaned. It seemed more like a “clean before you leave” state as we’ve had in other cottage rentals. Driveway has ample space and the property is nice, quiet, and it doesn’t feel like you’re in a neighborhood which is nice. Overall we would return for another stay, but with less people. We had 4 adults and 4 kids and with the smaller bed sizes (doubles) it felt a little tight.

We had a great time here! Beautiful decor! Very clean and plenty of supplies. We enjoyed the beautiful deck with lots of space to hang out. We also loved the beach! The only negative thing was the lighting in the kitchen. We had difficulty seeing in the morning even after changing the lightbulb.

This cottage was cute and clean. Could not have asked for anything else except maybe a floor mat at the main entrance as it was rainy and no mat meant dirty floor. Every was like the pictures and we greatly enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Port Franks

The property was very clean upon our arrival and had everything we needed for a weeks vacation in beautiful Port Franks. Literally a 3 minute walk to the beach made this the ideal location for our family. The hosts were very accessible and answered all questions promptly. Having a fourth bedroom in the basement with its own bathroom was ideal for visitors. Highly recommend this property.
