About this property
Secluded family friendly oasis on 15 acres
Wind down and escape to a peaceful and beautiful country experience! Drive up a long driveway and you will arrive with no other houses in sight and surrounded by trees and mountains in every direction of the 15 acres with a apple/pear orchard and a pond on the property. Relax and take in the nature all around you.
Enjoy the spacious chalet-like open plan layout with cathedral ceilings and 4 bedrooms in a 3000 Sq ft house with 3 floors built by a renowned local builder in 2010.
The main floor has a double height ceiling living room with fireplace with an open kitchen and dining room all seamlessly connected and open to each other. There are 2 bedrooms across from each other and a full bath on the 1st floor.
Walk up the stairway and to the right is an oversized master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with a tub as well as a walk in granite shower. Down the hall to the left is the library loft that is open to the living room downstairs with lounge chairs and plenty of books to read. All the rooms upstairs have beautiful pond and mountain views.
On the lower floor there is a media room where you can gather to watch TV or play pool or chess, and for the kids there is a separate play area. The 4th bedroom is also on the lower floor, as well as a full bath with standing shower.
The house is 2 hours from NYC, 15 minutes to Hudson, 25 minutes to Great Barrington.

About the host
Hosted by Sue and Derek
We live in Tribeca and use the house on the weekends - two little kids who love the house as much as we do!
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with the town of Hudson, NY where there are amazing restaurants, unique stores and creative people. We searched for a house close by with a lot of space that also felt like a total escape into the country and found our house which is surrounded by 15 acres of fields, woods, and pond! It has become a true getaway for us from the hustle and bustle of the city.
What makes this property unique
The house is also in the heart of Hudson Valley with easy/close access to so many other towns (Red Hook, Ghent, Rhinebeck, Chatham to name a few), farmers markets every Saturday from April to Dec (in Hudson and Hillsdale, equidistant and not sure which is better they are both fantastic), lakes, hiking, nature, the quaint Berkshires towns and Tanglewood, as well as winter activities such as skiing and tubing. The list goes on and on, and we will provide recommendations for every activity!
There have also been many weekends where we were perfectly content staying at home, hanging out on the back porch, bbq'ing, the kids running around in our backyard, throwing rocks in the pond, playing games/pool/chess, relaxing with music playing on Sonos, and ending the day sitting around the fire pit roasting marshmallows.
