The stay was amazing. So close to the beach and restaurants. Love the private pool. Only thing we had to buy dish cloth and towels. And there was no face towels in the bathroom. Very minor. Planning on staying there again. Had a great time. Was very clean when we arrived.

Perfect, convenient, beautiful property and location

Just what we were looking for in a beach stay. Beautiful condo with private plunge pool and convenience to everything. Could have used an oven, but we made do as we like to cook. Definitely look at if going to Playa del Carmen.

Enjoyable week!

Like other reviews, the unit and building could use a little bit of TLC but for the price I can’t really complain. Our A/C in the 2nd bedroom did not work for a couple of days but did get fixed. The hot water in the main bathroom did not work. The location is excellent!

Family Christmas Vacay

The condo was great for our family of 5! The 2nd beds I’m not sure were Queen sized but the couch worked as a spare bed. The location of the condo right on the Main Street to the beach was quite noisy, and the restaurants right below played very loud music late into the night and it sounded like it was right in the bedroom. We would defiantly stay at the Aldea Thai again as the whole place was awesome and the services like the pool and bar/food were great! We would like just stay in different building.

A tired suite that needs some work

The listing showed a hot tub, it didn’t exist. The plunge pool needed repairs. The furniture was poor in quality and uncomfortable. Overall the suite needs to be upgraded. I would not recommend the property.

An amazing experience we all loved it!

Our family of 5 stayed in our condo for 16 we absolutely loved every minute of it. The condo was comfortable and we felt right at home. The private swimming pool was a blessing when it was so hot we didn't want to go anywhere and just relax in private. The kitchen had everything we needed to do meals. The only complaint i would have is the mattresses on all the beds were a bit hard. The staff was fantastic and friendly as well as helpful 😀 you will need to buy your own toilet paper and garbage bags if you are staying for more than a few day's. But all in all we loved it. Right downtown close to everything. I will definitely recommend it and go back to stay again!!! Happy Canadians 😊

Good location but find another place

Pros: Location close to the beach. Relatively clean. They provide water. Enjoyed back porch pool. Cons: No fitted sheets. No kitchen towels. Said they provided shampoo but didn’t and didn’t bring it when I asked. Very few places to hang things to dry (weird given it’s a beach house). Overall, if you can find another place with good location and the same price, I’d do that.

Location plus, aging property

We enjoyed our stay and it was great to be so close to the ocean. The building and condo are showing a lot of wear and tear and in need of updating. The condo was clean, not spotless and a couple of towels had stains. The host has a very automated system working, you never actually speak with a human. Unusual but it worked fine. We were content for a 3 night stay but I would not have wanted to stay any longer.

Great Location!

I have visited Playa Del Carmen many times and this is might first time staying at this location. I have walked past Aldea Thai many times when going to Mamita’s Beach Club. Walkable to many great restaurants and bars. The only issues I had with the condo was the cleanliness of the bathrooms. Hair that was not mine was on the walls of the shower as well as the shower floor was dirty. Luckily I had cleaning supplies and shower shoes so it was not a major issue. Also the pool can use an uplift. You have to be very careful getting in and out of the pool because the loose tiles by the steps might scratch you. But other than those minor issues, this is a great place to stay. Recommend based on location!

Aldea Thai Condo

The condo was good, but does need some updating. The ad states there was a washer and dryer, but there was not. The master shower has two steps to get into the tub, which is odd. We paid for housekeeping, but supposedly this was not supposed to include new towels and sheets, which we asked for. Who wants the same towels for 10 days. The location is great, the pool on the balcony is also nice. Just need to update listing to take off washer and dryer and the furniture could use and update. Property manager was very responsive, but forgot to mention that the electricity would be out for over 8 hours one day, which we were never told. You are definitely renting Foe the location because you can’t beat it!

Can’t wait to go back!

We had an absolute amazing time at our stay! The room was incredibly comfortable and spacious. Being our first time in Mexico, we were nervous about safety and I can honestly say we felt safe the whole time. The property manager was very responsive to questions and kindly messaged me more than I even needed to make sure our stay was going smoothly. The area was very full of life in the evenings but everything seemed to quiet down before it got late. Incredibly easy to fall asleep there. We stayed for 8 days and didn’t opt for maid service as we enjoyed being out in the area so much it stayed pretty clean. I know another review referenced the towels. There were tons of towels, but I also don’t have a problem with reusing towels. I don’t know if the maid service would have provided fresh towels. As I said before, the communication was so good I truly believe all we had to do was ask if we needed anything. Wonderful location close to 5th Ave and the local restaurants on the same block were amazing! I would 100% recommend staying here over an all inclusive resort any day! Can’t wait to go back!

This condo was very disappointing. The main issue was the private plunge pool was in great disrepair and unusable. broken pump and full of green algae. Reported the issue to property manager .. no maintenance arrived as was expected for the duration of our stay . Asked for some type of compensation as this was a main feature of the property and reason for choosing this condo. Was denied any compensation. Secondary to this issue, the condo is in need of refreshing. Walls and furnishings are showing significant signs of wear. Kitchen needs restocking ( no drying towels for dishes , no mixing bowls. No extra bed sheets and the bed sheets in the master bedroom were stained and very dingy. Drapery’s had missing hooks and were detached and hanging from Curtain rods. The overall cleanliness was mediocre. Floor was not cleaned well upon arrival and the mop and pail supplied appeared unsanitary. The Aldea Thai facility was very nice as was the communal pool area. Proximity to amenities was great however if you want quiet at the end of your day you should be prepared to listen to loud music from the ground level bar until well past midnight most days. Also the water supply was off 3 times during our stay for approximately an hour each time. Inconvenient when you are half way through showering and can’t flush the toilets. Overall not worth the money we spent.
