Great House!

We were very pleased with our stay here! The home was very modern and updated with super cute beach decor. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. Everything is labeled making it easy to find and the spice cabinet was AMAZING. From cooking oils to spices to basic baking supplies, you name it and it was there! In addition, there was laundry detergent, fabric softener, dryer sheets, toilet paper, dish soap, dish detergent etc. which we really appreciated. The attention to detail was above and beyond. We would definitely return! The only con is the neighborhood had several run-down homes and an abandoned one next door, but that didn’t affect our stay…just an observation.

Michale and Kristen have a wonderful home that is very well stocked in the kitchen, and laundry area, as well as beach toys for adults and kids. Our hosts were very responsive to any needs that may have arisen, but I had zero issues while staying there. My only suggestion is to have a curtain on the door to the outside shower for those guests who are more modest. We also brought a clothes line to hang our towels and swimwear. All in all, a very enjoyable experience and would highly recommend visiting. I certainly plan to come back!

Hello! We would love to host you at our home away from home! Michael is a high school teacher and Kristen is the director of a multi-state dog training company. We are not a large rental company, we are a married couple who loves Fort Morgan and open our cottage when we are unable to be there. We live in Knoxville, Tennessee the majority of the year, but spend as much time as we can in Gulf Shores.

Why they chose this property

Michael has been coming to the exact house that we are renting since he was born. His grandparents built the cottage as their getaway and eventual retirement home. The house and neighborhood has seen a lot of changes since his grandparents first bought the property in the 1960s, but it is still perfectly secluded and special, and their names are still visible in the concrete under the house.

What makes this property unique

The neighborhood in which our house is built is unlike any other in the area. Fort Morgan is special because of its building restrictions. There is a wildlife preserve and bird sanctuary on either side of the neighborhood, and an endangered beach mouse, that helps prevent enormous developments from destroying the picturesque nature surrounding our community. The neighborhood has a large stretch of private beach access and has a pier on the bay side. It's hard to imagine an almost vacant beach and private pier in comparison to the crowded public beaches most people have experienced. While completely secluded in Fort Morgan is wonderful, if more activity is desired, Gulf Shores is about twenty minutes away by car.
