Yeola - Lush location with river access!

Thanks for your review. I do not agree that the access to the property is misrepresented and your opinion of it does not seem to be consistent with other guests that have stayed at the property. As a courtesy to guests we do mention (in bold text) in the properties description that it is accessed by a dirt road and is not suitable for lowered vehicles. I do however understand that different people have different driving abilities and some people are not used to driving on country dirt roads. I know its definitely not the M5 but the road is maintained by the local council and we have guests access the property in normal 2WD vehicles all the time. Yeola is located in a pristine isolated area which is what people love about it. If you were after a property closer to town with sealed road access there would have been many other properties to choose from. I'm happy to pass on your feedback in regards to fans to the owner. I do acknowledge that during your stay the weather was exceptionally hot with multiple days in a row over 40'C but this is obviously beyond our control. Like many places in Australia Kangaroo Valley does get hot in summer and the run of hot days we had during yours stay was out of the ordinary. One of the best features of Yeola is the private access it has to some of the most amazing swimming holes in the Kangaroo River which are fantastic for cooling off in on a hot day.

We have only just become aware of this review which appears to have been written on the same day you emailed us to express your concerns so its a shame that you didn't give the owner a chance to respond to your comments before writing it. It is also worth noting that the owner did provide you with a partial refund - which you happily accepted. In regards to the issues you raised: - I apologise if you didn't feel the cleaning was up to standard. The owners were at the property prior to your stay and didn't notice any issues. We have emailed you for further details on which specific areas needed attention so we can raise it with the cleaners but we are yet to receive a response. - There had been some extremely strong winds prior to your stay so it appears that the screen door for the balcony had blown open and come off its hinges. This has now been repaired. - The air vent you refer to has never fallen out before or since your friend 'brushed' against it. It is made of extremely light weight plastic and while we regret that your friend hurt their foot I trust that their injuries were not too severe. - The cover for the controller underfloor heating in the bathroom had been removed by the previous guest. The underfloor heating has been disconnected for some time and was perfectly safe. This information was conveyed to you at the time. - Apologies for the dirty BBQ. Guests are required to clean the BBQ after use but obviously this did not happen and was not picked up by the cleaners. - Thank you for bringing the broken hinge for the BBQ lid to our attention. The has now been repaired. - The window had been cracked by the previous guests. The window was quite secure and the tape had just been put on the crack as an added safety precaution. Arrangements had already been made to have the window replaced but as I am sure you can understand with a remote property such as this repairs can take a little time. This has now been repaired. - The ceiling in the kitchen very occasionally gets a small leak when the bathroom above it is flooded from careless use of the shower. - There are two dishwashers at Yeola. Unfortunately one of which was not operational during your stay. Luckily there was another one in perfect working order. The faulty dishwasher has now been replaced. We hope to welcome you back to Kangaroo Valley some time in the future.
