Relax on either of two levels of 150 foot long wrap around decking; there is a special spot for you to soak in stunning ocean views all day long while at "Utopia". The pool deck area provides shade as well as plenty of sun worshipping space with ample seating, tables and lounge chairs. With large dining room table for 10, additional seating at breakfast bar and outdoors you will be sure to vacation in style. All the bedrooms have LCD flat screen televisions with built in DVD players along with foam or designer bedding. The great room has a flat screen surrounded by luxury furniture tastefully mixed with beach decor. Walk past your private pool (14'x35') and into the sand where you will find yourself just steps away from the Atlantic Ocean, the wild horses, the dolphins, and pelicans. What more could you possibly dream of having at your fingertips while on vacation! Well-behaved, house broken dogs welcome for additional fee.

The fully equipped kitchen will make cooking for a crowd a breeze. Eight stove top burners, top of the line drinking water purification system, and plenty of dishware is provided.

This house rents Sunday to Sunday to avoid the Saturday traffic.
The owners have over 20 years experience OBX vacationing and will pass on to renters, a listing of all pertinent information and local attractions to make your vacation to Utopia one that will provide your family the memories of a lifetime; many decide to make it a treasured tradition and return year after year. All of the niceties combined with the luxuries make this the top vacation home for you!

Lower level: contains a king master bedroom with whirlpool as well as a walk-in tile shower for two, a bedroom with a pyramid bed to sleep 3, a game room with pool table, shuffleboard, wet bar and a refrigerator, as well as a den with flat screen TV, gaming system, board games and leather furniture. There is also a laundry and a full hall bath on the lower level.

Mid level: features a king master bedroom with soaking tub, a king bedroom, a queen bedroom, a bedroom with two bunk beds, a bedroom with one bunk, two hall full baths, and covered deck on 3 sides accessible via sliding glass doors from non-bunk bedrooms. There are also 2 roll-away twin cots in case you need to move things around to suit your kids.

Top level: offers a king master bedroom with soaking tub and a baby crib, half bath off the theater, a large living room, a large dining area with seating for eleven, a beautiful kitchen, and a theater room with leather reclining seating for nine.


Note that a four wheel drive vehicle is *required* to access this secluded vacation paradise.
All wheel drive vehicles (with high ground clearance and experienced driver) may be capable of navigating the soft sand and off road beach driving conditions with experienced driver.

This place was all and more we were looking for. The owners were awesome. We had a small issue while there and contacted the owners after 9:30pm and they responded right away. The house is awesome. We will be back next year

Amazing location

My family of 17 had the best time! The house is in the best location, so exciting to have the wild horses walk right past the yard while we were swimming. Driving on the 4x4 beach is so much fun! The house is clean, communication with owners is amazing and prompt. A very relaxing vacation that was needed by all. We will be back again!

We had an amazing time in Corolla. The house was perfect, plenty of room and fun things to do. The horses walked right thru the yard, we were able to see them everyday. The kids could walk back and forth to the beach, and we loved driving over and setting up under a canopy for the day. Can’t wait to go back.

This vacation was so much fun. There was no surprises the house was exactly as described. The maintenance guy would stop by periodically to check the pool so you have no worries. Driving on the beach is so much fun and sitting on the deck watching the horses is so relaxing. I don't have one bad thing to say. I can't wait to go back next year!

The weather could have been better but that is out of our control. The only thing we were disappointed about was the swimming pool at the house was so cold, we couldn't use it. We thought is would have been heated.

We visited with a few family friends and all of our children. The house and location were perfect. The theater room, game room, and pool kept the kids busy all week. We had plenty of space for all guests to enjoy time together and enjoy time on our own on the different deck levels. The hosts responded to questions immediately and gave us all the assistance we needed. I would recommend this property to anyone interested in a week stay. Driving on the 4wd beach was a first for all of us and an absolute blast. We also had horses in our front yard a few times during the week...awesome.

Perfect for our group of 5 families!

The property was very spacious and well equipped. The kitchen had all we needed and more to prepare meals for our large group. The location was just a short walk to the beach, and everyone also enjoyed the pool. The media room was great and had ample space for all 8 kids to watch movies. We saw wild horses on a daily basis, sometimes right outdide our door! The owners were very responsive to all inquiries, and the property was spotless when we arrived. PERFECT!

This property was perfect!!! We have 6 adults and 9 kids (3 families) and there was plenty of room to spread out. We spent countless hours on the pool deck and in the pool, in the hot tub, and loved being able to walk to the beach! Rooms were large and clean, kids loved the movie theater, kitchen is a great size and stocked very well for a big group! The owners were always quick to respond to a few questions. Wish we could stay another week :) We saw lots of horses and the kids loved having to drive on the beach to get to the house. Overall, an absolutely awesome house!!!

Exactly What We Needed

This vacation home was exactly what we needed. We had four families with 8 adults and 8 children, yet the house never felt crowded. The kids loved the movie room at night and checking out the horses from the decks. The pool area was perfect for the late afternoon. It is walking distance to the drive on beach. The owners had numerous beach chairs, boogie boards, and pool floats available. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could need. There was plenty of room to park. The charcoal grills outside were nice and clean. The bathrooms were sizable. Nothing but compliments from our crew!

Great Family Place

We had 18 people, ages 1-80. There was plenty of space for everyone. Wild horses were so close many times. Lots of kitchen space and utensils. Close to the beach (short walk over the dune or drive). Not great internet but that kept everyone from being on their phones all the time. Most of the beds were very comfortable. Pool was used a lot (heated would be nice but we get why it isn't). Lots of beach and pool toys.

The house was perfect for our family the theatre room was the favorite for most . The water and the one stove top that didn’t work was the only downfall for us .

We love Utopia!

We are family of 18 from Pennsylvania and we LOVED Utopia! The house was exactly as advertised. It was clean, had everything we needed and the furniture was all very comfortable. The theatre was a huge hit! The house was perfectly laid out with lots of space for everyone to spread out. Even with 18 people we never felt cramped! The location is also perfect- far enough up the beach away from the crowds without being too far from town. We loved being close enough to walk back and forth to the house from the beach whenever we needed to. The pool and hot tub were a great way to end the day. We also enjoyed seeing the horses in the yard everyday! We would definitely stay here again!

Family reunion

This property had plenty of room for the17 of us who where able to meet at this lovely location. Enjoyed the beach the pool having meals together. The hot tub movie theater views from the decks. The horses who delighted us with their presence daily. Beach driving was bumpier and more crowded than I remembered it. But great adventure got to know children born in far away states and hopefully give them happy memories of us.

Beautiful Family Vacation

Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful beach house this week. We had an absolutely, wonderful time. We took care of your house just as we would have if it was ours. Inside the house, we especially loved the shuffleboard game. That’s a great family game! We are even going to buy one for our lake house. The beach and horses were enjoyed by all. Amazing week!

Me and my family just got back from renting this beautiful 3 story beach home for a week. The house itself is kept very clean and was not dated at all. The owners provide more than enough amenities that there is no need to bring anything than clothes and your beach towel. The beds were very comfortable and there is a TV in every bedroom. The theater room was a big hit for the kids and adults as well. The pool was clean and they provide plenty of chairs for everyone. They even have chairs to bring to the beach! We had daily sightings of the wild horses which was amazing. The ocean views and the sunsets were unbelievable! Great place to stay!!

house needs major attention and major upkeep. both fridges not working properly, electrical outlets not working on left hand side of upstairs kitchen, cracked floor tiles, upstairs stove busted, carpet in downstairs room ripped, both kitchen faucets rusted and leaking, pool heater not working, pool deck a trip hazzard, pool furniture old and beat up, damaged, beach chairs and toys old, damaged, most cannot be used, deck furniture damaged and left on upper deck for all to see, grilling area had horse poopie so the smell and bugs will annoy you, gate to pool area broken, pool wasnt serviced as stated on paperwork. mold and mildew on most balcony doors. our expectations werent too high based on the pictures we saw and of course we kept an open mind considering this is a remote area BUT, we were shocked. we had 2 family members leave and wouldnt even stay 1 night, the rest of us all cut our trip shorter than expected. sadly, will not return to this house. movie room was the best part of this house.

Hello and thanks for taking a look at our home! We have over 20 year’s experience choosing the Outer Banks for our personal annual vacation retreat. We often arrived with a group of friends and a herd of kids, or our extended family for a reunion. It was and is always a vacation to remember. Over the years, we have compiled some of our favorite attractions and tips; as our (busy) guests, we will pass on our experience to save you so much planning time. What to bring, what is already at the house, where to go and what to do as well as what is not to miss while you are visiting Currituck County, NC.
It truly is steps over the dune to the waves any time of the day or evening… do you know about our ghost crabs? Great fun for kids with a flashlight! Does it seem like there is never enough time to sit down and play a board game anymore? We are more than ready for that vacation moment with the 20+ games and puzzles to entertain young and old alike. We also have a large paperback library for relaxing by the pool or sitting with your toes in the sand.

We know your stay at our beach house will be one you will want to repeat time and again. One week never seems like enough time, so take advantage of our discount offered for booking two consecutive weeks! We fell in love with Corolla over 20 years ago and now that the kids are grown and out of the house, those are memories and photographs that are absolutely priceless.

Why they chose this property

We are owners of this property since September 2015 and have made many updates: 9 new reclining leather seats for the theater room as well as upgraded surround sound, new flooring on all 3 levels, new paint on the walls, new thermostats and HVAC system for 1st and 2nd floors, tons of beachy decor and general updates all around. The close proximity to the beach is really something you will want. Spoil yourself!

What makes this property unique

You will not regret choosing the Outer Banks as a secluded vacation spot for your family and friends! The beaches are gorgeous; renting Utopia just steps from the waves is sure to become an annual tradition. While the four wheel drive beach does require a 4x4 vehicle, you will find the privacy and relaxed pace is the perfect spot to recharge your soul.
Are you a coffee loving, early morning sunrise beachcomber or a sunset deck enthusiast with a nice glass of wine in hand? Either way, you will be unbelievably surprised here in the wide spaces of Swan Beach with all the vacation amenities you’d expect and then some. We are located on one of the wild horses’ favorite grazing path so you should have some nice photo opportunities. (Be sure to honor our equine pals by keeping at least 50 feet away and allowing them to forage for their own natural diet of wild grasses and plants.)
