Great escape
Took the family up for the Christmas holiday. Had a wonderful time, great views, and even got a bit of snow for that white Christmas. Place was wonderful, with a great space for dining and playing games. Would recommend to anyone looking for an escape from the city.

About the host

We come from varied backgrounds, one of us working with military and first responders and the other, working with disabled Olympic-level athletes, inspired us to form our non-profit Puma Hills Mountain Retreat.

Through our combined experiences as part of a military family and working with the USA Paralympic and Deaflympic teams, we built Puma Hills to help those who serve and their families. The natural beauty that surrounds our property, the nearly limitless types of activities available, provides an amazing platform to create retreats with programming that helps soldiers and first responders affected by PTSD.

We strive to provide veterans and first responders, both able-bodied and disabled, with the chance to connect with others and with nature at Puma Hills.

Why they chose this property

Quintessential Colorado in a very secluded hidden valley. Few Coloradoans, let alone others, have been on County Road 77, a paved road that primarily winds along the Tarryall creek valley, with Lost Creek Wilderness area and Bison Peak (at 12,500', the highest peak in the Tarryalls) and McCurdy Mountains 150 foot high granite hoodos as our backdrop. Yet we are only 60 miles from Colorado Springs and Breckenridge and 90 from Denver.

What makes this property unique

Your visit supports our mission to facilitate the emotional and physical healing of veterans, first responders and their families by providing our premier mountain resort facilities and programming in a pristine natural environment.
