Well decorated, clean, and well maintained property will make you feel at home. Ten years of perfect review scores on VRBO. NO CLEANING FEE OR OTHER FEES - please note the "total cost" (not the nightly cost) when comparing homes. Located in Hatteras Colony - great neighborhood for walking, bike riding, 'kid friendly'. Short walk down a cul-de-sac to the spacious and uncrowded beach. Private pool (May through October) and screened gazebo with hot tub, spacious grass yard which is good for outdoor play; charcoal 'park' grill with prep table. Wood floors in kitchen, LR and and large enclosed sunroom/dining room. Primary bedroom has king sized bed and private BA; 2nd bedroom has queen sized bed and direct access to BA; 3rd bedroom has pyramid bunks (full and twin sized beds) and foosball table. High-speed wifi, TV's in each BR and in LR, roku access to streaming and Spectrum channel lineup. DVD player. Central A/C and 7 ceiling fans. Kitchen is well stocked with pots/pans/dishes/utensils etc. Pack and play and high chair for infants/toddlers. Large deck with plenty of comfy seats. All windows replaced in 2023/2024; new deck 2024; new roof and siding 2022.

Very nice stay

Great location lovely house with really nice touches. Enjoyed the pool area and large outdoor shower. Easy walk to beach. The town has everything you need close by but it’s also an easy drive to busier areas.

A private, relaxing stay!

Our family of four loved our week at the beach house! It had everything we needed and was close to the ORV beach access points. We were able to easily walk to the beach when we wanted to, and we enjoyed the pool at some point every day. We’d definitely stay here again!

Short Anniversary Trip to New Area in OBX

So much more beautiful and peaceful then expected. We’ve only ever stayed right on the beach in condo with our two kids. First time staying down in this area and loved it so much more. House is located in perfect area and nice and secluded.

Quiet, relaxing beach home

We absolutely loved staying at this beach house! It was exactly what we were looking for... quiet neighborhood, easy beach access, private pool and hot tub and a private yard. A Perfect Beach House with a Pool

We had such a nice a stay at this beach house! It had all the amenities we needed and more. The pool was small but plenty big for our family of four. We loved the hot tub, too. It was easy to reach the owner and he made sure we had everything we needed. A perfect stay!

Great property! Very clean upon arrival. Short walk to beach. Terrific private pool for when it was too windy at beach. Loved the front porch area - it was air conditioned so it was great to eat out there, do yoga or just enjoy coffee in rocking chairs! Can’t wait to go back!

Great home away from home

We had a wonderful stay. The house was well appointed and clean. Excellent communication with the owner. There were lots of little extras that made the stay so much nicer (like the beach wagon and extra beach chairs). It felt like we were visiting someone’s home, not a sterile rental. It really was a cute little house with a rockin AC. Would definitely recommend for small families or two couples with a few little ones.

Just what we needed!

This property is perfect for a family getaway. We loved being close to the beach and the house had everything we needed, chairs, wagon to carry to everything over, buckets. Also, having our own pool was awesome, we used it almost everyday. The location was close to some great places to eat and things to do, but still very peaceful and quiet. We will be back again!

Simply Amazing Rental

This house is truly a gem! Clean, decorated beautifully, has everything you need and is literally a minute walk to the beach if that! To be that close to the ocean and have to connivence of Private pool is amazing. Definitely in the top 5 rentals we have stayed in as a family, best and cleanest in OBX. All the amenities were wonderful, hottub,pool, full kitchen, books and games. Perfect House

We had an awesome stay at Sunny Side Up! Dave was very responsive and made sure everything was in order for our stay. Great location and very private. It was very clean and well maintained had everything you could want or need and then some. It is just like it shows in the pictures. The beach cart was great for carrying all our stuff over the dunes to the beach. We loved lounging by/in the pool and hot tub. We hope to visit again next year!!

The PERFECT OBX accommodations!

Absolutely wonderful beach house! Everything was just as advertised. The location of this house is great - on a quiet, dead-end street. While it is not "beach front", it is a very short walk to the beach access path. We walked from our door to the beach in 5 minutes. The pool and hot tub are beautiful, very private and in perfect working order. Everything in the house was in perfect condition. Communication with Dave (the owner) was very easy and convenient, and he did all he could to make sure our stay was exactly what we wanted. I highly recommend this place!!

We purchased the home in January 2005 and performed a major renovation as a labor of love over the next 5 months. Drove 6 hours almost every weekend with our 3 young children (10, 6 and 4 at the time) who helped clean, paint and turn this property into a cozy home. We replaced all the windows and doors, installed wood floors in living areas, new carpet in the BR's, added a large deck and created a new main entrance with french doors, installed a pool and gazebo. We also updated the electric system and installed ceiling fans, freshened up the kitchen cabinets, refinished walls and ceilings, repainted the entire house inside and out, and bought all new furniture. The result is a bright and fresh home with lots of light and artistic decor that will make you feel right at home.

Why they chose this property

You'll feel at home. Note - every review we've received is a 5! We treat the property like it's our primary home even though we only get to enjoy it a few weeks each year. We're meticulous about maintenance, cleanliness, landscaping and keeping the décor bright, comfortable and inviting. Our home is 1,500 SF, most 3 BR's are 1,000 to 1,200 SF. We have a large grass yard with room for kids (and adults) to play .

What makes this property unique

One of the few mid size houses on Hatteras Island with a private pool and hot tub. Also has a large grass yard which is uncommon in the OBX. The yard and pool are very private which is also not common in the OBX.
