Had a lovely stay ! Farm was very comfortable and loads of space for the kids to explore. The hosts were very helpful and answered any questions quickly and the check in process was easy, thanks

The price was quite high for what you get. More information on arrival would have been nice. One of the electric blankets didn't work. We were not sure if we were allowed to explore the property. We saw bits of dead animals and lots of bones around the cottage. The dogs were very friendly.

Thank you for your constructive review Emily, we do have a booklet with information about the cottage and the farm and all the places you can explore, if there is more information we could add, we would love to know. Also I didn’t realise one of the electric blankets does not work, I will figure out which one and replace it. Apologies about the bones, as a working farm our dogs are always bringing bones in to chew on, I admit this is probably a bit confronting for those not used to it.

Great Farm Stay!

The house is really nice and has everything you need. Such nice scenery there and the kids loved it. The night sky is also excellent! Our host was great and very quick to communicate. This was our second time staying here and it won’t be the last. Highly recommend staying here.

Peaceful property within easy reach of 3 snow resorts

The cottage was cosy with everything needed for a comfortable stay, including coffee machine. It snowed on our last day, a wonderful end to our holiday.

Fontenoy joy

A great location, very comfortable beds, nice new kitchen and bathroom, tranquility on a stick. The dogs are great entertainment. Thanks for a great stay to head up for a ski and caving at Selwyn.

Charming cottage in beautiful valley

Very comfortable and relaxing. Gorgeous friendly dogs that welcomed us. Kitchen had all that we needed. Beds were comfortable.

Cosy farm stay ideal location for Selwyn ski slopes

Fantastic warm cottage ideal for families, couples & pets.Fabulous coffee machine and wood heater. Excellent facilities perfect for relaxing and unwinding after a day on the slopes. “ Fontenot”was the perfect stay for us this winter holiday . We would love to return in summer to enjoy the fabulous new wrap around deck and open fire.Children loved the chooks and eggs.

Lovely cottage old on outside beautifully new renovation inside.

We found the cottage and hosts to be lovely. The quiet, scenery and stars were spectacular. Only disappointment was the forecasted snow was barely a flurry. Great cottage for a snuggle by the fire 👍

We loved our stay at Fontenoy! Stayed for a few days to ski at Selwyn Resort which is just 50-minutes away. The cottage was so neat and well stocked with everything we needed, including coffee and fresh eggs! We arrived late at night and the house was toasty warm from the wood fire. Our kids loved exploring the farm, feeding the chickens and playing by the river. We will definitely be back again! Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Wonderful and cozy ski trip

Our stay in Fontenoy Cottage was perfect. The fire place is amazing and keeps the whole cottage snug and warm. The new bathroom and kitchen both have everything you need for your stay. My teens loved the property (and Rippa, Daisy and Grouser - the farm dogs) so much they made me promise to return. We could have easily stayed longer and loved coming back each day after skiing.

Relaxing getaway

Stayed with friends and had a lovely relax. Loved the fishing spot by the river. Host was quick to respond to any communications. Only comment for improvement to have doors on all bedrooms- the one closest to the front door had no door which limited privacy.

The perfect Farm Stay

As a family, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fontenoy Cottage. The wide-open space, swimming in the river, and exploring the local area were highlights of our trip. Our boys had a great time riding their bikes on the trails. If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, I highly recommend Fontenoy Farm. Ineke was incredibly easy to communicate with, and the cottage was equipped with all the modern conveniences.

Amazing mini-break from the city!

From the moment we got there, the atmosphere was peaceful and the landscape beautiful. The cottage was so well appointed, clean and freshly renovated kitchen and bathroom and the pot belly fire kept us all so warm. We just loved chopping our own wood and collecting the fresh eggs! We will definitely be coming back!
