About this property
Cosy mountain lake ski retreat, relaxation Scandinavian style
Our guests return each year to enjoy this clean and cozy home in the mountains.
The light filled house boasts tall timber lined ceilings, a beautiful log fire, internal traditional wood oven (perfect for your favourite pizza) and a Finnish sauna to revive you at the end of the day.
With 2 bedrooms the house comfortably sleeps 6. The main bedroom has a queen bed with ensuite and walk in robe. The second bedroom has a double bed and bunks. All beds are clean, warm and comfortable - bedding and linen is provided.
Walk over the road and fish Lake Eucumbene from the bank or bring your boat and use the boat ramp at the end of the street. Or explore the numerous trout filled streams nearby for that elusive Rainbow or Brown.
Pets are welcome over the warmer months - between October and May. Unfortunately we have had problems in the past with pets being left alone in the house in the winter while people go skiing, and it is too cold for them to be left outside. Please note the garden is not fenced.
Mt Selwyn ski resort is a 40min drive away and offers family friendly facilities. If you have hit the slopes and caught a fish you might like to take a drive to the amazing Yarrangabilly Caves. Picnic in this stunning hidden valley, soak up the history of this 100 year old mountain resort and take a dip in the thermal pool.
There are several horse riding operators in the area if you feel like the Man from Snowy River experience. Or just relax. The comforts of the house can make it hard to leave the fireside. You may just stay put and enjoy the quality selection of DVDs, books and games.
Take a wander on the 5km bush fire trail at the back for lovely views of the area. At the end of the day supervise the BBQ from the deck and watch the sun set over the mountains in the company of the friendly local wildlife.
Coffee and the paper can be found just a 15 minute drive away at the Adaminaby bakery where you will find cream buns, curry pies, coffee and lovely fresh bread, there is also an IGA, the pub 'the Snowgoose' and local takeaway for meals and supplies.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

The house it self was great , very clean , great rooms and fire place was awesome, the only small issue I believe is the driveway , if block was flat then gravel driveway isn’t a problem, but having gravel on a steep incline driveway isn’t ideal ,
Quiet lovely location. Lots of beautiful wildlife. Well kitted out. We didn't try the sauna or pizza oven so cannot comment on those but everything else was great
Amazing property in a stunning location. Far exceeded our expectations. Host was great, all required information was passed on, whilst completely respecting our privacy. Will definitely be back again.
Wonderful cosy home. Loved the quiet nature all around us. We really appreciated the fireplace and the well stocked kitchen. Kids loved the books and games and dvds. We loved the sauna!
Lovely home! Cosy and warm and equipped with everything for a comfortable stay

We loved our stay in the Cabin, lucky enough to have some snow there when we arrived. Very cosy and clean, the beds a re super comfortable and warm. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

We loved the house and our stay! Plenty of space, very family friendly. Old fashioned and basic but it had everything we needed and was perfect. Beautifully warm and cozy!
