Qta. das Estrelas is spacious, light and airy, combining modern convenience with tradition. All rooms are tastefully furnished with country views. Character features include large entrance hall, traditional Portuguese tiles, terracotta floors and high wooden beamed ceilings. The thick stone walls keep the property warm in winter and cool in summer. For additional comfort fans are provided for summer cool and electric heaters for winter warmth. Lounge and fully equipped kitchen also have working wood burners. The farmhouse is approached by a private drive. The house is located in the centre of the land with no immediate neighbours. The South facing terrace has traditional Santa Catarina tiles and views over paddocks and countryside toward Burgau village. BBQ. loungers, table, chairs and sun umbrella are provided for outdoor eating and relaxation. There is a separate, fenced, lawned area with 4.6m circular plunge pool (depth 1.2m with ladder style steps) and feature bread oven. To the rear of the house are stables, paddocks and ample parking . All rooms enjoy country views. Maid service is supplied for each 7 nights booked to clean and change the linen. All household linen is provided except beach towels.

farmhouse

wonderful property quiet and secluded ,just what you need to unwind. the owner Susan was there to welcome us and was helpful and pleasant. although secluded walking to the beach is a pleasant 10 to 15 minute walk. we would go back again purely for the ambience of the place. you would have to be very picky not to like this place. ideal place

just had a fabulous 17 days here, the most chilled, laid back and relaxed holiday ever! the property is about 1km out of town, a nice walk in to build up a thirst/appetite. the kitchen is fully equipped to cater "at home" if that is your preference though. Sue, though she visits the property every day, is never intrusive, and most days you dont realise she was there. if you do ever need her though, a phone call and she will be there within a few minutes to help or advise as necessary. the property is completely private, but with good all round views. set back a little from the road, you have views of both countryside and of the town. we were attacked relentlessly by mosquitoes for the first week or so, but that is not Sues fault, we just have delicious blood! i would not hesitate to recommend this property, and would definitely go back again, if only for the pool, and the privacy it offers, even form the rest of the property!

There are anti mosquitos plug ins in the villa and a spray skin repellent which is necessary outside if you are attractive to mosquitos. Some people seem to have very sweet blood. Perfect base for our bird watching holiday

Susan was extremely welcoming. The property is spacious, private and extremely clean. Well equipped throughout. Walking distance into town and beach was a real bonus. There’s a selection of top quality restaurants in Burgau…fresh fish and seafood readily available. We enjoyed Miam, Barraca, the beach bar….all exceptional. Surf school also popular and great to watch beginners and veterans sharing the waves. With regards to the property. If fancy gadgets or state of the art facilities are important then this isn’t for you. The bathrooms are dated but extremely clean and simply functional. Endless hot water in a peaceful setting is so much more important than a faddy shower with changing colours and jets….in our opinion. The bed was very comfortable and clean. The large kitchen was cool in the day and warm in the evening…everything worked perfectly….a proper farmhouse kitchen! The living room is gorgeous….it wasn’t cool enough to light a fire but everything was ready for a colder evening including extra logs in the stables. The terrace is large and has sun all day long. In summary, we had a perfect week in this property. Private, quiet, clean, spacious, convenient and comfortable. Thank you Susan.

Das Haus sehr geräumig. Die Möbel etwas veraltet. Sauberkeit war gut. Am Schluss ging Toilettenspülungen kaputt. Vermieter kümmerten sich sofort.

Villa très bien située

Pour un séjour d'une semaine : Equipements, vaisselle limitées pour le nombre de personnes ( 6 adultes ) ; eau chaude défaillante ainsi que l'accès à la piscine. Rapport qualité-prix très décevant. L'accueil est néanmoins charmant, la jolie plage de Burgau est à 10 min à pieds et la région est riche en visites de tous genres.

Wonderful Place!

We had a fabulous holiday here! We all (two adults, two teenagers and an 8 year old)loved the space - the house, pool, peaceful surroundings, and wildlife - such beautiful birds! It is only a short walk to Burgau beach which is stunning, really picturesque. We hope to come back as it was a truly relaxing break, the most enjoyable family time together in a long while! The owner was fantastic - showed us around, provided helpful information and was contactable should we need anything. The house is very private, wonderfully secluded. Thank you so much!

Sehr schönes Haus

Klasse Alleinlage am Hügel, wenige Gehminuten von Burgau entfernt. Im Ort gibt es einen schönen kleinen Sandstrand, gute Restaurants und alles, was für den täglichen Bedarf benötigt wird. Das Ferienhaus ist mit allem ausgestattet, was in der Anzeige beschrieben ist, der Pool ist sauber. Die Vermieterin ist sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und reagiert prompt auf Anfragen. Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit hier.

Superb house in a fabulous location.

We had a perfect holiday. The house is much larger than it appears in the pictures. Everything was provided for a relaxing holiday combining countryside with the beach and pleasant walk away. Great value and I will definitely be visiting again next year.

Holiday in Burgau

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Susan's farmhouse.Treacle was lovely and we enjoyed feeding him carrots.It was very peaceful and private.The views were lovely.We would recommend it to anyone.We really liked the patio area which was a real suntrap.Hopefully we will visit again. Keith and Brenda.

Ein wunderschönes, ruhig gelegenes Haus, das trotzdem die Nähe zum Ort bietet.

Sowohl von innen als auch von außen strahlt dieses Haus eine besondere Atmosphäre aus. Wir haben besonders die Terrasse genossen, auch wenn es im März noch nicht die wärmsten Temperaturen gab. Die Umgebung ist ländlich, natürlich, die Mimosen blühen, die Vögel singen. Man kann Wiedehopfe und sogar mal einen Fuchs beobachten. Als Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen in die Umgebung ist das Haus ideal. In Burgau findet man Restaurants und einige kleine Läden. Am Strand ist man in 10 Minuten. Wir werden wiederkommen.

Fantastic

Wow! From the moment we drove up until the end, it was a truly relaxing holiday. Little bit closer to the road than we thought, but fantastic. Truly recommend it. Plunge pool was useful to cool off in an afternoon. Would definitely go back.

Sehr geräumiges und schön eingerichtetes Landhaus.

Sehr geräumiges und schön eingerichtetes Landhaus. Tolle, ruhige Ortsrandlage. Burgau ist ein hübscher Ort mit netten Kneipen, der vom Haus leicht in 10 Min. zu Fuß erreicht wird. Der schöne Strand ist nur ein paar Minuten weiter. Ideal zum morgendlichen Schwimmen, da die Wellen hier nicht hoch sind. Das Haus ist sehr gepflegt, die Matratzen sind für meine Begriffe sehr hart. Die Terrasse ist groß, es sind auch ausreichend Liegestühle vorhanden. Was nicht ausreicht ist der Schatten. Das es keinen natürlichen Schatten gibt, wären zwei große Sonnenschirme oder ein Sonnensegel wünschenswert. Zum Ende des Sommer (September) ist der Garten wegen der Wasserknappheit sehr trocken und verdörrt.

Lovely peaceful villa, very comfortable and equipped well enough for holiday needs

I did have concerns re size of pool initially, but more than big enough to cool off in. We also had a few WiFi issues which wouldn't have been a problem , other than waiting for A level results! Wouldn't have bothered otherwise. Loved the patio and the hammock! and the cats and pony (who all ate very well for the duration of my daughter's stay) The village has some lovely restaurants, but be warned, cashpoint does run out of money and a lot don't take cards. Beach was busy but very pretty.The national park nearby is also worth a drive as the scenery is beautiful. Owner is lovely and friendly and has lots of local knowledge re whats going on. We had three teenagers with us who could have been bored but actually were more than happy to read , sunbathe and relax when it was v hot , followed by trips into Lagos and Portimao later in the day. Loved the medieval festival in Silves. A lovely, relaxed holiday in a peaceful secluded spot, definitely thinking about booking again.

heerlijke vakantie

We hebben genoten van onze vakantie in het voorjaar van 2016. Met name de prachtige ligging van het huis, mooi terras en uitzicht, met op loopafstand een zeer gezellig Portugees dorpje met allerlei restaurantjes en een prachtig baai, hebben gemaakt dat we goed konden uitrusten en een heerlijke vakantie hebben gehad. De gastvrijheid van de beheerders stelden we erg op prijs, zeer bereikbaar voor kleine vragen. We zullen zeker terug komen! Peter en Phaedra de Ligny

A perfect peaceful retreat

This very spacious and beautiful house has lots of character and is perfectly located in the Costa Vicentina Natural Park, whilst also extremely convenient for the pretty fishing village of Burgau with its sheltered sandy beach and numerous bars and restaurants. The house is very comfortable and Susan was very friendly and helpful giving us lots of local information. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to revisiting.

wonderful place

The Quinta das Estrelas is a wonderful place and was even better than we expected! It is located outside of the village and the protection from the many trees make it a really private place. Everything was there as in the announcement and we found even more equipment - specially for the beach and kids. We were surprised by the excellent service with the weekly cleaning and changing of linen and the final cleaning that was included. The owner was very friendly and helpful and easy to contact.

Quinta das Estrelas

I visited the Quinta with my wife and our two young children. We were made to feel instantly welcome by Sue who greeted us with a bottle of wine and took Emily and James to meet Treacle the pony and Tigger and Piglet the resident farm cats. The house is very well equipped with everything you might need and has many lovely features having been sympathetically modernised. The extra touches of the beach items and childrens toys were an added bonus. The house is located just outside Burgau village and the protection from the many trees make it a very private place. The maid service was excellent with a weekly cleaning and changing of linen and the final cleaning also included. The house was much larger than we expected and next time we will be returning with the grandparents as it is ideal for a 3 generation visit. The village and beach are delightful with very friendly locals and offers an excellent choice of restaurants. The beaches and nature on this part of the Algarve are stunning to explore. We are very very happy to have discovered this accomodation and highly recommend it.
