Hilltop Village Apartment with Superb Sea and Mountain Views

The traditional perched village of Castellar provides an ideal base for your holiday. It is set among olive groves and citrus trees just 4 miles from the beaches at Menton. Being situated on the French/Italian border you have easy access by road or motorway to the glamorous resorts of Monte Carlo, Nice, Ventimiglia, San Remo and Imperia. The apartment is located on the second floor (access by stairs only) of the building adjoining the hotel in the village square. It is light and airy and has been refurbished to a high standard and can accommodate 4 adults in two bedrooms - one double and one twin. There are stunning sea views from both bedrooms - one of which has a small balcony. The balcony leading from the living-room overlooks the square with an impressive panorama of the mountains beyond.

Everything you need in a tradtional french apartment

Great communication with yhe host and check in easy .Everything you need provided clean and homely.Lovely area with a good bus service into Menton .Great local restaurant in the town square nice food and friendly staff.localrestaurant to eat and enjoy the town square.

Castellar Apartment

The sea and mountain views from this apartment were definitely superb. Breathtaking actually. The small but well equipped apartment is situated right in the heart of this historic mountain village and overlooks the central square. We arrived at the start of the celebrations for the Festival of St Bernard and were able to witness some truly colourful and traditional French festivities with a 'birds eye' view from the kitchen and living room balcony. Apparently there is a great village Boulangerie - sadly our relaxed holiday schedule prevented us from putting this to the test as he was closed by 7am and we were in no mood to set an alarm! But all was not lost - we found one that stayed open much later, just a short journey away. If you are searching for tranquillity amidst the charm of a French village you have found it here. The arrangements were straightforward, reliable and easy.

Logement correct bon emplacement sur la place du village et vue sur la mer. Rien ne manque. Le lit conjugal a été trop petit pour nous, on a changé de chambre et pris les lits jumeaux. Nous avons passé un séjour agréable au sein du logement et de ses environs.

Un très beau séjour !

J'ai passé 3 semaines agréables, l'appartement est très bien placé avec de supers vus sur les environs (la mer et les montagnes). Le voisinage est calme et appréciable. Le village est sublime. La gérante est toujours joignable et sympathique.

bon séjour

nous avons passé un agréable séjour à Castellar, le logement était conforme au descriptif , cependant un grille pain et un cafetière seraient un plus .

Vor Ort keine Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, kein persönlicher Parkplatz, Keine Klimaanlage unter dem Dach bei 35 Grad. Härte !!! Daher trotz 2 Einzel-Schlafzimmer zu warm um erholt zu schlafen. Viele Serpentinen und Engstellen bis zur Wohnung und dann vor dem Quartier alles zu geparkt. Keine Speisegaststätte vor Ort. Wenn Du Sa anreist musst Du wieder die Serpentinen runter um was zu Essen zu finden. Der Ort selbst ist recht malerisch und nicht überlaufen von Touristen. Kaffee gibt es morgens - Gegenüber. Die Leute sind sehr freundlich und Du wirst gerne integriert.

Wir waren rundum sehr zufrieden.

Wir waren das erste Mal in dieser Region. Reisezeitraum Juli-August. Angereist sind wir als Ehepaar mit unserem 8 Jahre alten Sohn und meiner Mutter. Die Schlafräume waren ausreichend und es war super, zwei separate Schlafzimmer zu haben. Bad und Küche waren funktional und ebenfalls ausreichend. Wir waren 13 Tage da und es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Die Eigentümerin steht auf antike Möbel und hat die Wohnung entsprechend sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Wohnung hat zwei Balkone. Der Blick auf das Meer ist traumhaft. Das gilt auch für den Ausblick aus dem anderen Balkon auf die Berge und dem kleinen Marktplatz vor der Haustür. Der Weg zum Strand ist mit dem Auto oder mit dem Bus gut erreichbar. Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit und haben unseren Aufenthalt in der Wohnung ebenfalls sehr genossen. Wir kommen gern wieder.

Stilvoll und absolut empfehlenswert

Die Wohnung liegt im 1.Stock eines Hauses direkt am Dorfplatz von Castellar. Die Einrichtung ist ausgesprochen stilvoll mit sehr schönen alten Möbeln. Alles war sehr sauber, die Küche ist absolut ausreichend ausgestattet, Handtücher wurden zur Verfügung gestellt und der Kontakt zur Vermieterin und der Dame vor Ort, die die Wohnung betreut, war sehr herzlich. Die Aussichten aus der Wohnung sind phänomenal. Auf einer Seite der Blick zur Meerseite Richtung Menton und auf der anderen Seite Blick auf die Berge. Man könnte sich auch den ganzen Tag auf den Balkon setzen und dem Treiben auf dem Dorfplatz zusehen. Diese Wohnung hat uns unseren Urlaub gerettet. Wir hatten uns in der ursprünglich gebuchten Wohnung in Grimaldi überhaupt nicht wohl gefühlt und waren sehr froh, hier kurzfristig unterzukommen. Vielen Dank nochmal!

Stunning location

This Lovely traditional ( yet having modern facilities ) apartment overlooking the village square in a typically friendly pretty mountain village is very well equipped with stunning views to the mountains and to the coast and very quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the coastal road and cities yet the coast only 4 miles away .( we stayed during the end of the Cannes film festival period and the few days leading up to the Monaco Grand Prix so it was a particularly busy time on the roads) We particularly found it more relaxing to leave the hire car in the village and catch the local bus into Menton .( bus drivers very friendly and helpful!) . Lovely to have balconies in the apartment both overlooking the mountains and village square at one end and the coastline at the other.
