So cool you have to try it
We travel 3 times a year and it was a joy to stay in a treehouse of all things. We had the larger unit which has a private bath with a shower across the hall. There are two beds in the loft so the children took those and we took the futon in the living room. We were met with fresh muffins and here is the biggest gift of this vacation rental, housekeeping just like in a hotel. Each time we left for an adventure on Homer's Spit (a 10 minute drive away), we came home to a clean unit and once to the most magnificent blueberry muffins. The down side of vacation rentals is that you do not have housekeeping but wow, it was such a wonderful thing to come home after an outing to a clean unit. Here is a travel tip, the television has an RCA input so bring an HDMI to RCA converter (about $35-40) for
x-box's, ROKU or any streaming devices. With the converter, our teenager was up and running on his x-box but the surroundings got him to unplug and play with his little sister on the tree swing, hiking in the surrounding fields and our hosts showed a generosity of spirit and patience with our 9 year old when she explored the greenhouses and she even got an opportunity to feed the chickens, yes, chickens. There is a hand drawn map to help you navigate the grounds. Take it with you on hikes. We visited from Southern California so the treehouse was the perfect adventure for our city kids yet comfortable enough for adults to relax. I am embarrassed to say that I napped a bit more than I anticipated because it was just so peaceful while the children were outside playing and I felt that the children were quite safe on the grounds. I did not mean to drift off as much as I did but the treehouse has the perfect balance of comfort and the feeling like you are camping. I believe our host were artists so the unit is decorated with tons of art. There is a wood burning stove that we never figured out how to use but I am sure it is easy. There is tons of wood provided downstairs. There is also a community firepit right in front of the unit for s'mores. There is a toaster oven and microwave in the unit so we never needed the wood burning stove. There is a full refrigerator so we stopped and fetched groceries on our way in and it was perfect.
