About this property

Riberac: Heated Pool, Games Hall, 5 Bed (3 En-Suite), Town Centre, Private

Step through the gates of No 1 Place Jules Brunet and discover a rare duality: the vibrant soul of Riberac at your doorstep, and an utterly private, walled sanctuary within. This is a gracious maison de maître designed for multi-generational families or groups of friends who want genuine space, genuine privacy, and genuine town convenience.

For those who ask about summer heat: like all historic French stone houses, the thick walls and traditional shutters keep the interior naturally cool. We also provide quiet tower fans for warm nights.

Five Bedrooms, all on the first floor (one flight of stairs):
Three generous double bedrooms with luxurious en-suite bathrooms;
Two further twin/double bedrooms sharing a large family bathroom;
Plus two additional separate WCs and a ground-floor shower room;
Sleeps 10 comfortably. Bedding can be configured as two doubles + three twins, or up to four doubles on request.

A Note on Accessibility: All bedrooms are on the first floor.

Living & Entertaining Spaces:

Grand living room for evening drinks;
Formal dining room for celebratory feasts;
Eat-in kitchen (fully equipped, large enough to cook together);
Secluded study for remote working or quiet reading;
TV lounge separate from the main entertaining areas—perfect for children or film nights

The Heated Pool & Garden (Your Private Sanctuary):
The walled, extensive garden is your secret world. At its centre: a heated swimming pool (4.5m x 9m). Sun loungers surround the pool. Beyond, the land rises gently to a tranquil area of mature trees.

The Games Hall (A Cathedral of Fun):
Housed in the original vast stone barn of this historic estate: table tennis, table football, and darts. Rain or shine, teenagers and adults alike will disappear in here for hours. This is the feature that families return for.

Outside Dining: Two Choices:

The sunny courtyard (morning coffee); or
The spacious terrace overlooking the garden (long lunches and evening dinners)

Practical Luxury (Because details matter):

Private parking behind secure gates for up to three cars (plus free on-street parking outside);
Utility room with washing machine, dryer, and second fridge;
High-speed WiFi suitable for video calls and streaming
Ample crockery, glassware, and cookware for 10+ people
Linens and towels included (pool towels also provided)

The Best of Both Worlds:
Walk two minutes to Riberac's famous Friday market. Select fresh bread, local cheese, and Périgord wine. Return to complete peace behind your own gates. You have the cafes, restaurants, and culture of a bustling market town and the privacy of a country estate. No driving required once you arrive.

Explore the Dordogne:
Beyond the gates: prehistoric caves, châteaux (Bourdeilles and Mareuil), canoeing on the Dronne River, local tennis, river beaches, and vineyards. Bordeaux is 1.5 hours; Bergerac and Angoulême 1 hour; Périgueux 40 minutes.

The property has a lovely homely but quite grand feel.

We had a fantastic week in this house, there was plenty of room for all the guests including room for the teenagers to escape to. The games room and pool area are first class and the house lovely and clean with tasteful decor. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A great property with spacious rooms with eclectic furniture.

We have really enjoyed our first week in this property, and fortunately we are staying on a further week. There are many places nearby to explore.

A lovely stay in the dordogne

We were just delighted with our stay here in Riberac. The house is as gorgeous as it looks in the photos. Every room beautifully decorated with its own character. it is grand but very comfortable, we especially enjoyed gathering in the kitchen and the living room as well as by the pool. The pool is lovely in itself, but the gorgeous garden surrounding it makes it spectacular. The location is also terrific for visiting the many fascinating sites of the region while offering the easy convenience of local shops. We also cannot say enough about Judith, our host, who was extremely helpful and accommodating throughout our stay. We highly recommend this property. We were a large group and there was ample room. Thank you Judith for introducing us to the Dordogne in spectacular fashion.

Spacious and comfortable mansion house in a quiet corner of Riberac

The house is exactly as described and the owner, Judith, was very helpful with information before our stay. While grand and spacious the house is comfortable with a well equipped kitchen and contemporary bedrooms and bathrooms. The house is very secure and in a quiet corner of the center of Riberac - a pleasure to walk to get our morning croissants! Riberac is a pleasant town in a beautiful part of the Northern Dordogne. A very pleasant stay.

Why they chose this property

I fell in love with the quiet magic of Riberac. It’s a proper, working market town, not a museum piece. I love sitting in the garden with a coffee, hearing the distant church bells and knowing that the buzz of the market is just a few streets away. It’s that perfect balance of peaceful country life and a vibrant, authentic community. You have the stunning Dordogne countryside on your doorstep, but you can also pop out for a fresh baguette and chat with the locals. It feels genuinely French, and I wanted others to experience that.

What makes this property unique

Without a doubt, its unique location. It's the only private estate of its size and caliber in the very centre of Riberac. You have the total privacy of a walled garden, pool, and games hall, but you can walk to the famous market, bakeries, and restaurants in under two minutes. It offers the space and peace of the countryside with the convenience and buzz of a vibrant town right on your doorstep—a combination that is incredibly rare in the Dordogne
