Great place to stay in Croyde

Property had everything we needed for our holiday. It was close to the beach, shops and restaurants. It wasn’t far to visit other places so was pretty central for us. Really enjoyed our stay will definitely be making a return visit.

Croyde cottage

Very clean, well equipped and spacious. Good location, village, pubs and restaurants only 5 mins walk in one direction with the beach and coast path 15 mins walk in theother direction. Sheltered and private garden too.

The host Ian kept in touch leading up to the stay giving me all the info I needed for a great stay. The bungalow was bigger than expected, some of the photos don't do the place justice. We could not find fault. It is just over a 10 minute level walk to the beach, which is lovely and clean. longer walks can be accessed from there. the caravan park on the main rd has a small shop, pizza, fish and chips, fried chicken place. We had a pint in the bar who were very welcoming. Five minutes down the hill and there are a small post office, few pubs and restaurants. Most evenings we made use of the patio and the table and chairs provided, to sit and chill with a cuppa, or eat tea while looking at the view of the hills. Well worth the money, Parking on the driveway, well stocked kitchen, views, walks, other villages a short drive. such a quiet area. Thank you Ian, you have put a lot of effort in the place and well thought out upgrades.

Good location to visit places within north Devon Walk away to croyde bay Easy access to driveway and nice layout of bungalow plenty of space espically with young children. Good facilities to use within the property

Could be so much better

So the positives, it has a beautiful front garden with chairs & a table to sit out, when the sun is shining is was lotions. The beds are comfy, Its a smart TV with Netflix for just chilling at the end of a Long day surfing plus the location is perfect for town & beach, unfortunately that’s where the positives stop. The house smelt badly of damp, when you open kitchen cupboards the smell is really strong but generally the house has a strong musky / damp smell which was very unpleasant. It abated a little when we turned the heating on but it was so strong on the first night it woke me up. There is peeling wall paper, plaster missing around light sockets, bare minimum supplied in the kitchen, the bedroom stool leg fell off when I picked it up, lucky I didn’t sit on it & the chest of drawers in the twin room drawers would just fallout. This property could be great but needs investment. So disappointed, I could just about get by with the minimalism of the place but not the smell, peeling wallpaper, missing plaster and collapsing furniture.

Perfect location!

10 minutes to the beach, 5 minutes to the pub - what more could you want! After years of staying in Parkdean Ruda we decided it had become over priced and my family had outgrown the caravans so this 2 bed bungalow was perfect for us and our teenage boys. Kitchen had everything you needed and more. Wifi was included. There was plenty of garden space which got the sun all day long and even though it was at the front it was high enough to feel out of the way as well as being close enough for people watching! Would definitely stay again.
