Thank you for your review, I would be delighted to welcome you back to the villa as you were wonderful guests! Yes, you can sometimes smell the paper factory across the whole of the region.

I am very upset by this review and have asked the website to delete it. The renters asked for a significant discount prior to booking, which I granted in addition to allowing short term cancellation due to cv19. On arrival at my villa it was clear they did it like it, or the surrounding area, which is quiet and beachy. They stated it was dirty and asked for another 50% refund in order to stay there. I advised they could stay the night for free and leave in the morning. In order for the renters to get a full refund, I cancelled the booking for them. These renters have not paid, for the night they stayed, bedding or any cleaning fee. I have has to absorb this cost. I have also had to suffer the consequences of the cancellation affecting my metric ratings and now have a poor review. My villa is always thoroughly cleaned by professionals and I have never had any negative comments. I would never rent to this renter again, I feel she has set out to defraud me.

Thank you for your feedback. Our property is a much-loved family holiday home and is advertised as such, with photographs and a description reflecting its furnishings and setting. It is not advertised as a high-end villa. We acknowledge that the internet connection was intermittent during your stay while the service was being switched to fibre, and you received a £250 refund for the inconvenience. However, the television was working when Kath checked it following your departure. Fibre broadband has now been installed. The garden is affected by dry conditions and limited water available for irrigation, as are other gardens locally. We were also disappointed to find the house left untidy and unsecured following your departure. We ask all guests to leave the property reasonably tidy and ensure it is locked when they leave. We are sorry that the house did not meet your expectations, but hope this provides a balanced picture for future guests.

Thank you for your feedback and your kind comments about Kath’s welcome and my communication. The house is a rustic property in a quiet, rural heathland setting. The area experiences considerable wind and rain over winter, which quickly weathers exterior surfaces, including newly installed timber. For clarity, the decking was brand new before your stay. Following your comments, it was inspected and three protruding screws were identified. The cookware and crockery had also been newly purchased before your visit, so we were surprised by your comments about their condition. Kath was available to assist with any items needing attention during your stay. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry that the property did not fully meet your expectations.

The bikes are family bikes and although new, we do not offer a maintenance service, we allow them to be borrowed but expect those that use them to look after them.
