About this property

Watch the badgers from the window in a beautiful & peaceful countryside setting

A warm welcome and a cream tea await your arrival at Badgers Holt which is situated next to the farm house of Buller Farm a relaxing, peaceful place in the centre of West Cornwall with direct access from the farm gate to bridleways and cycle paths which traverse the county giving many miles of walking or riding without using roads, ideal for exploring Cornwall's mining heritage which is now listed as a World Heritage Site. It is central for the beaches on both North and South Coasts, as well as Stithians lake for fishing and water sports, golf courses, Bissoe Bike Hire for exploring the old mining trails, The Eden Project, and many other gardens and attractions.
The south-facing sliding glass doors lead to a terrace which is a sun trap, here you can relax with garden chairs, a table, and a bar-b-cue. The first bag of charcoal is supplied. The large secluded back garden is for the sole use of the guests of Badgers Holt.
From the front window you can watch the badgers which come up to the house to forage for peanuts each night, they can usually be seen just after dusk each night. We can't guarantee that you will see them as they are wild animals, but all guests have seen them so far (see reviews). If you visit facebook.com/badgersholt you will be able to view a video of a badger rolling a hens egg across the lawn, recorded by one of our guests from the sitting room window.
Being newly built for 2014 Badgers Holt has all of the home comforts that you would expect from a first class holiday let. The fully tiled bathroom has a full size bath as well as a separate shower cubicle. Towels for washing are supplied as well as towels for the beach.
The accommodation is flexible with one bedroom having a king size bed and the other with zip-link beds to give two 3 ft singles or when there are two couples staying, one super king bed
When accompanied by the owners you will be able to visit the horses in the yard or fields and the chickens, ducks and geese. Fresh eggs straight from the nest boxes available.
There is plenty of room for parking for those who wish to bring a trailer or boat. Also, there is a container lock-up which can be used to store bikes, surf boards etc.

About the host

Hosted by Anne Wills

Host profile image
We are Anne and Graham and have owned Buller Farm for over 14 years and run it as an equestrian yard. When we bought the farm the house and the land was semi-derelict and it took several years to clear the fields and re build the farm house. It has been worth all of the hard work as it is incredibly peaceful and beautiful. We built Badgers Holt on the site of the old milking parlour and finished it in May 2014. We love to share the tranquillity of our home and ask that you respect the peace and quite, it is not the place for loud music,

We look forward to meeting you and hope we can help you to have a relaxing and refreshing holiday and like us you will fall in love with this 'Piece of Heaven'.

Why they chose this property

It's simply unique, people just love the setting and tell us we are so lucky to live here. The icing on the cake is the nightly visits to the garden by the badgers, all of our guests have been thrilled to get such a close up view of them.
