Our favorite place to stay in the area! Quiet, relaxing, secluded mountaintop cabin but still within 4 miles of the main drag in Pigeon Forge! The cabin was almost 1400 sq ft, 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths with washer/dryer, dishwasher, 2 outside deck living spaces and plenty of fenced in yard for the fur baby! The entire cabin was clean (we didnt even use the upstairs bedroom/living area) and had 3 flatscreen tvs with satellite viewing channels. It also had trashbags, cleaning supplies, ice trays, pots/pans, wine glasses and dinnerware, aa well as Pam grilling spray, salt/pepper, and a Keurig station! There was an abundant supply of extra pillows and blankets, as well! We will definitely return...we spent a week in August and also a week in September here in Mansard House and Blackburn House...Mansard is the larger of the two cabins but the Blackburn House has the best front covered-porch with rockers and a porch swing,, for those dreary, rainy days!

Just perfect!

My husband and I spent Monday thru Friday this last week for our summer getaway/anniversary. It was so cute and comfortable! It was like staying at grandma’s house! The owner was super accommodating and allowed our dog and the new family kitten despite last minute unforeseen changes in plans. Tim rocked! We loved it so much we even extended our stay another night! My favorite was the porch. At night the katydids are so incredible to listen to! So serene! We will be back and truly cannot wait!

Wonderful Place! Perfect for us!

Our stay was great! It was the first time bringing our pet on vacation and this cabin was perfect for us. It was clean and just what we needed. We really enjoyed the large gated deck to enjoy with our pet. Check in was so easy and we appreciated the great communication and information that was provided to us.

Quiet/Close proximity

We chose this cabin because of the fenced yard for our dog. The cabin was in a quiet location, yet it was less than 15min to Dollywood, and any other activity you could imagine (aquarium, miniature golf, etc). Views of the Smoky Mountains from the front covered porch.

Tranquility

Nestled at the top of a mountain with a picturesque view lies a quaint up to date modern cabin. With a home feel of comfort and warmth. My puppies and I enjoyed our stay with watching morning sunrises and beautiful sunsets. With a fenced yard and lovely patio equipped with a porch swing and rocking chairs. So perfect.

A Short Getaway

Nice quaint cottage with beautiful view of the mountains. Place is perfect size for two and your four legged friend. Place is located about four miles from Pigeon Forge. Great communication with the property manager. My only issue was getting to the place. It's on the backroads and the road up to the cottage is steep and narrow with several turns. It is partially lit at night.

Getaway

We had a lovely stay except for the shower and not having communication with the caregiver during stay. We thought there was a washer and dryer but there was only a shed with a broken washer and dryer in it. If they would get that working and make an actual shower so the curtains are sticking to you the whole time it would be perfect there. The caregiver didnt respond to us at all while we were there when we asked questions. There was supposed to be a gift basket as well and there wasn't.

Great location at a great price!

Vrbo review: Havens on the Ridge Blackburn House provides an excellent value for any couple (and their dogs) who need a place to stay for a few days while exploring and enjoying the Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg area. We found the cozy cottage to be clean and very well provisioned. In addition to a microwave and coffee maker, we found all of the kitchenware, pots, pans, dish soap, etc. that makes it easy to make full use of the kitchen. The WiFi is adequate for casual browsing, and the satellite TV has enough variety to pass a rainy afternoon. Outside on the deck is a very nice Weber propane grill, which had a full tank attached to it, with a full spare on hand. The enclosed deck and chain link fence surrounding the small yard give dogs plenty of room to move around. The deck railing vertical slats are close enough together to keep all but the smallest of dogs from squirming through. A large picnic table offers plenty of room to sit and enjoy the view, and the provided umbrella keeps the late-afternoon sun from beating down. Otherwise, the many towering oaks and pines surrounding the house provide ample shade. As some other reviewers have noted, some of those same huge trees obstruct the view of the distant ridge. This is a tiny nit to pick, in my opinion. The view from the deck is still quite nice, and the privacy and quiet make it a nice place to spend evenings. Heading back down the ridge from the cabin requires a 10ish-minute drive along a twisting, one-track ro

Pros and Cons

We always love to rent a cabin to get away for a few days in Pigeon Forge for privacy and peacefulness. So we were pleased to just have a few days to ourselves. When we rented the cabin the initial payment was paid at the time of reserving. The second payment was to be paid on the day of arrival. I assumed it was done automatically, but it wasn't. Again, we just wanted to get away for privacy and peacefulness, so I wasn't looking at my phone or emails (mainly because I didn't have good service). I received texts, 2 emails when I did have service, and a note on the outside of the cabin to pay the second portion of the cabin rental. Again, I assumed it was drafted automatically, which was my error. The pros of this cabin are definitely the porch, the fenced-in area for our toy Aussie dog, the view, and the bed was amazingly comfortable. The cons of this cabin are the stairs going up to the loft. They were not closed in so our dog wanted to jump between the steps. In the loft, there are 2 areas on each side of the railing next to the wall where our dog could have jumped down. We closed those off immediately. The cast iron tub was extremely slippery and difficult to take a shower in. I'm a small lady (5'5 140lbs) and I had to hold on to the curtain rod around the top to turn around and to keep from falling. The stairs and tub could be extremely dangerous for an elderly person. The toilet stopped up twice. The cabin wasn't as clean as it should have been.

Absolutely loved our time here. The cabin was clean, cozy, had all the amenities we could possibly need plus extras. The fenced in yard was perfect for our blind pug and her crazy pug sibling. We even got to see a bear (safely) roaming the ridge. Will absolutely try and stay here again when we come down.

Why they chose this property

Eastern Tennessee's abundant beauty, tempo, and sense of community are enjoyable throughout four distinct seasons. Prompted by a lifelong affection for the Great Smoky Mountains, my search for solace led to a unique opportunity for developing an existing property into a mountain retreat for adults desiring tranquil and respite on a year-round basis. Havens on the Ridge offers both... while being ideally located a short distance from the majestic Smoky Mountains as well as the entertainment and adventures of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.
The property was originally owned by the Blackburn family as their primary residence and boasts a "Gathering House" cabin for special occasions. Their family tree includes Michael Blackburn who achieved notoriety as the World's Greatest Sharpshooter. The property history sparked a special interest within me, and each day I'm thankful to now call Havens on the Ridge my home as caretaker.

What makes this property unique

Beyond the tranquility, privacy, and comfort of Havens on the Ridge, we strive to provide a "home-away-from-home" getaway that also offers an "away from it all" feeling at the same time. Having a Resident Manager onsite ensures any need or issue that might arise during your stay will be dealt with promptly.
