NOTE TO SUMMER TRAVELERS - Bridger Vista Lodge now has air-conditioning. The high elevation (6100 ft ASL) and arid climate make temps at Bridger Vista Lodge normally 10 degrees cooler than Bozeman and surrounding valleys. So even when lower elevations are sometimes hot in July and August, our log home is comfortable or even cool. Evening and overnight temps regularly drop into the 40s and 50s in summer. As a benefit, the high mountains to the west block the sun well before sunset which allows the mountain evening breeze to pleasantly cool our home. Even so, we have decided to install a high efficiency AC system to cool our home as necessary on the hottest days. I am personally very sensitive to heat, so I understand the need for cooling air on the hottest days. To save energy, it is highly recommended to pull shades down in the afternoon or when out for the day and use fans for a little air movement. But if the house is still too warm, we now have air conditioning to keep our home comfortable. Please call Wendy for further explanation of this and other amenities at Bridger Vista Lodge.

Great place to stay! Beautiful setting and home. Not far from town. Wendy is a great host. Any questions I had for her she responded immediately. Will definitely be staying here again!
This cabin was perfect for our family as we enjoyed Bridger Bowl, Yellowstone National Park, and Montana State University! We especially enjoyed the wood-burning fireplace to make marshmallows on and the hot tub with the great mountain view!
The house was beautiful and very well stocked with everything that we needed. It was in a remote area, 20 minutes from town with beautiful Mountain View’s. We all had enough indoor and outdoor room and really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely book again if we come back to this area.
This was the perfect mountain retreat, great accommodations, great location, and had great views and decor for this getaway. Instructions were meticulous and helpful. Follow up with owner was fantastic! Highly recommend for a group that wants to experience Montana life!
The property is beautiful! The house is stocked with everything you need. Check in and check out processes are seamless. Wendy is very easy to work with and very responsive. Can't wait to go back!
Our family enjoyed the cabin, especially family game night by the fire. The view from the cabin is exquisite with an unobstructed view of the mountains. The proximity to Bridger Bowl and Crosscut is perfect! The kids loved the hot tub too!
We loved staying here. Everything we needed was available and it was so comfy. The beds were the best. It is a wonderful retreat fir a family with incredible views of the mountains. A great location for skiing and still close to Bozeman. The host was so helpful and great to commiserate with. The best experience!

Disappointed
Photo of home was very misleading, it appeared to be secluded but it is not. Coffee maker showed that it needed cleaned. A lot of instructions from owner regarding how they wanted house left. Received phone call asking me to take the prior guest trash down a long drive to paved road for trash pick up. My wife and I are not young and this was a challenge for us. Price was to high for what we expected.

Hi Steve.
I am sorry you were disappointed in our home. I wish you had told me that taking the trash down would be difficult for you. It is part of the rental contract, but if I knew, I possibly could have hired my neighbor to bring the can down. As I explained, with only one trash pickup per week in rural Montana, the trash can naturally has previous guests trash and then the following week guests take down your trash. You told me that made sense and did not give me any indication this was a problem.
I am also sorry that you felt mislead by the photos listed here. You are the first guest to say anything like this in 18 years listed on VRBO. Most guests tell us photos cannot fully capture the beauty of our log cabin home. Nowhere in our description are the words "isolated or secluded" or anything like that to describe our location. Our cabin is in a rural setting on 5 acres so our neighbors are not that close. We also designed our home to look away from our neighbors so guests have a sense of privacy. The aerial view included with our listing photos clearly shows there are other houses in the area. Other photos were taken at a low angle to highlight the closeness of the mountains, not to give a false impression.
The coffee pot should have been clean. That one is on me and my cleaning staff. I will remind them to check it more thoroughly in the future.
Thank you for your comments. I only wish you had told me your concerns during your stay so I would have had the opportunity to make your stay better.
The home was very well equipped and spacious, especially the kitchen . The kids truly loved the ice cream machine and the ski lift swing. It did get pretty hot in the house so it was nice that there were fans for each room that provided some relief. Ceiling fans would have been nice. Electronics are outdated but we didn’t want to spend a lot of time with electronics anyways. There is no dining nearby so plan meals ahead of them and allow time to travel into Bozeman for restaurants.
The property was just perfect for a family with children. They loved meandering about.
The kitchen was VERY well stocked!! I didn’t have to buy ANY of those basic necessities! And the beds were very comfortable.
The view was not to be matched. We had a 20 min drive to town, but we loved that too. Plenty of excellent hiking near by!!
Thank you!! I want to come back!!

Excellent property to relax and enjoy the Mountain Views. Great walking and bike riding trails just across the road. Easy drive to Bozeman and the airport. Property has all the amenities plus some. Would highly recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bridger Vista Lodge. The home was large enough to fit our entire extended family, with plenty of space to spread out. The views and surrounding landscapes are beautiful, with plenty of hiking and exploring nearby. The home was well-stocked and clean. We look forward to being back in the future.
Our family voted this the best vacation rental we have ever stayed at. With the four bedrooms this property is plenty big enough for an entire family. It would easily sleep 10 to 12 people. The view of the mountains out the living room window will take your breath away. The kitchen was the best stocked and best equipped we have ever experienced. Plus there's lots of spices and dry goods available. The location is about 20 minutes north of Bozeman in about an hour and 45 minutes north of the entrance to Yellowstone Park. Thank you to the owner, Wendy, for sharing this beautiful place with us!
We so enjoyed our stay at Bridger. Although it is about a 25 minute drive into Bozeman, it was so worth it. The views were gorgeous, the house was well set up and we all were very comfortable. Wendy was great to work with as well. If you are looking for peace and quiet with amazing views, this is the place for you.
This cabin has it all;. The cabin is spacious and has everything you would possibly need. We brought our infant and the cabin had a crib in a separate room which turned out to be perfect. Wonderful stay, thank you!
This rental is in a great location- close enough to downtown to easily get groceries but you still feel like you are getting peace and quite. The house as all the amenities you can think of and is super clean and updated. Would definitely rent this place again!
We absolutely loved this house and the spectacular views! We really liked that every cabinet in the kitchen was labeled, very convenient. Our 4 kids really enjoyed the hot tub and the ski lift swing. We would recommend staying here if a Bozeman trip is in your future.
This property mixes luxury and comfort. It is the perfect place for a family getaway with lots of space to spread out and all the amenities you need. There are many outdoor activities available in the area and the hot tub is a wonderful place to unwind under the stars after a day of exploring. The owners are very responsive but give you privacy to enjoy their beautiful property. We loved it so much we have already reserved this place for next year!
My family and I stayed at this home and had a great vacation! Wendy was very responsive to my questions.

Our second stay; just as majestic as the first!
7 years ago we stayed at Bridger Vista Lodge for our honeymoon. We returned this year with our 5 year old daughter, my parents and brothers. Everyone loved it! The house is in just a great shape as 7 years ago! With multiple amenities, there is little that one needs to worry about. Proximity to town is great, but it is far enough up the mountain to feel secluded. And the VIEW! It’s breathtaking every day- I promise you will not get tired of it! This is definitely one of our favorite places!

About the host
Hosted by Wendy
My name is Wendy and I grew up just a few miles from Bridger Vista. In fact I am the fifth generation to live in Bridger Canyon where my great-great grandparents homesteaded in the 1880s. We personally designed and custom built our log home to be the best vacation home we can make it. Bridger Vista is our dream come true with a fabulous location in the mountains to enjoy winter sports like skiing, and summer recreation like hiking as well as all that southwest Montana has to offer. Although we can not live in Montana now, it is a joy to know that our log home is collecting so many wonderful memories from all the guests who come to enjoy it.
Why they chose this property
We completed construction on our custom designed and built log home in August 2006 and it has quickly become a high demand rental for it's luxury and location. It took many years to find the perfect property to build our vacation home. Once we found it, we decided to build the best vacation rental home that we could to accommodate not only our own family, but with vacationing renters in mind for comfort, ambiance and convenience.
What makes this property unique
Most of the furniture is custom made to go with the house for both functionality and beauty with a rustic log decor. The log slab dining table was made of the same log as the built in phone desk. The bedroom furniture was custom made for each specific room to accomodate bed sizeand the thickest and best quality mattresses. The Bunk beds were designed for extra long twin mattresses with extra thickness for comfort and to hold an adult on the top bunk. But the best decor items are the antler chandeliers in the dining room and great room that were built by a local antler artist from the antlers collected by Wendy's grandfather in Bridger Canyon. They are a personal heirloom and true works of art.
