About this property
Wisteria Cottage - Vine, Bamboo and Wisteria Cottages
In the heart of Southern Brittany's beautiful countryside rest Vine, Bamboo and Wisteria Cottages. They are converted from a Breton longere and are part of a small hamlet called Hevedic (meaning Little Sanctuary in Breton). Situated within a conservation area, the peace and tranquility has hardly changed since the reign of Louis XIV. These beautiful stone cottages have breathtaking vaulted ceilings, highlighting wonderful beams and Vine and Wisteria Cottages each have a huge Breton fireplace at its heart. Discover at your leisure 1 acre garden complete with wood burning hot tub, a potager full of flowers, herbs and vegetables and many hidden corners to sit and relax. Hevedic Wood has many paths leading to the Blavet river and the small town of Quistinic can be reached this way if you do not wish to drive. A cycle/footpath runs beside the river passing through towns and hamlets to the coast in one direction or Pontivy in the other. This area is perfect for mountain biking, road cycling, trail running, kayaking and walking. Poul Fetan, the 16th Century Village of French Culture is 5 minutes walk away and makes for a perfect day out with costumed hosts re-inacting life here in the past and a tavern selling local ciders and beers and Breton meals. The master bedroom has an en-suite shower room fitted with a vanity sink unit with lighting and power point and WC. A twin bedroom has separate shower, vanity sink unit with power point and WC. Both bedrooms have vaulted ceilings with exposed beams. The lounge has a feature Breton fireplace with wood burning stove that heats radiators throughout the property, two sofas and a coffee table. English satellite television is provided, as is French TV. There is also a selection of books and games. Fully fitted kitchen/dining area has modern units with plenty of work surfaces, a built in oven and hob, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, cafetiere, ironing board and iron. There is a pine dining table and four chairs. High quality bed linen, fluffy towels and luxurious robes are provided.
