This Pali Ke Kua condo has a split-level floor plan of 1200 square feet, is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo with a classic tropical and Hawaiian decor. The open floor plan and vaulted ceiling provide very spacious and comfortable accommodations for you and your guests.

Feel the cool trade winds and hear the surf breaking as you sit in awe at the most gorgeous views from your living room, dining room and lanai.

After a day filled with golfing, snorkeling, hiking, kayaking or just lying on the beach, you will know your day is complete when you come back and watch the stunning sunset light up the sky!

The view from the wonderful lanai is spectacular, and we really enjoyed having breakfast and dinner out there. Kauai Vacation Rentals is great to work with, and we appreciated their prompt and helpful communication. We would definitely stay at this condo again!

condo was excellent with an incredible view! our only complaint was the condo was very warm throughout the day and took a long time to cool off once we got home each day even with leaving all windows and patio doors open while we were gone.

It is a perfect place for what we wanted. We spent most of our time on the lanai. It was nice to watch our favorite basketball teams in the afternoon because of the time change. Our only disappointment was 214 wasn’t at our past level of cleanliness, we spent time cleaning.

We particularly enjoy the "million dollar view"! We could sit on the lanai and watch the waves, the sky and the changing light on the mountains. This time one of our group needed to drink decaf coffee, so we bought a Keurig coffee maker so we could make different types of coffee, one cup at a time. We left it in the condo as our gift to the owner. We hope other guests will enjoy it too.

Great location and view, but we had to ask management for additional cleaning upon arrival when we saw several roaches in the kitchen and a used band aide in the shower. Initially, management was not very receptive to these concerns, telling us that roaches are expected in this environment. But later became they were more responsive and pleasant. There was no bath soap and only one roll of paper towels in the kitchen. Wish we'd known this before checking in. Otherwise,

Stunning view and perfect location

This property is pretty much as described. The view is amazing. The ceiling fans, coupled with the ocean breezes keep the apartment cool and comfortable. We stayed for 6 nights and we never grew tired of the beautiful bali hai view. The furniture is comfortable, including the bed, which is a little on the firm side but not too hard. The unit is really well-equipped. Everything you need to cook and more is included in the kitchen. There are also plenty of comfort items for the beach - chairs, umbrella, cooler, snorkel gear, and a boogie board. There was a flat iron in the bathroom, but I didn't see a hair dryer. Also, you will need to bring your own shampoo/conditioner. The only cons/concerns we had were: 1) privacy - the windows in the bedroom open up in clear view to the path below, so you have to close everything up if you don't want people peeking in on you (this is probably true of every unit). 2) kitchen could be a lot cleaner - every single exterior cabinet surface was sticky - almost gummy. We were unsure if the apartment was in need of deep cleaning or if it was something else. Either way, a bit gross. The area under the sink had an unpleasant odor. 3) nitpicky items - the curtains look like they have not been updated in decades. they could really use a refresh. There was rust on the metal rods and subsequently on the curtains. For these negatives I would dock .5 star, but since I can only give stars in whole numbers, and the apartment is really fantastic, I'm sticking with 5 stars. If the owner had the cabinets cleaned up, replaced, the curtains, and added more towels, it would be 5.5 stars! Despite the few concerns we had, we really loved staying here and would happily rent this unit again!

During our weeklong vacation my sister broke her knee cap, and KVR accommodated our mishap by allowing us a much later checkout than we had. The unit was equipped with all the comforts of home with a spectacular view.

The View Never Gets Old

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My wife and I have been lucky enough to return to Kauai year after year for almost thirty years running. We always stay in the Pali Ke Kua complex. The grounds are well kept and the property is pretty quiet. The iconic view from unit #214 can’t be beat. After a late afternoon swim down at Hideaways Beach below the unit, we like to retreat to the lanai for a game of backgammon and a cold drink or two. Teams of paddlers often emerge from beyond the point during this time paddling multi-person canoes across the water just as the sun prepares to drop over the edge of the horizon. As the sun sets, the colors of the sky grow more and more vivid, bathing the mountains and ocean in the most dramatic light. It is quite the sight to behold and a memory that calls us to return again and again. The property management is also very professional, prompt, and easy to communicate with. The unit is as advertised with everything one might need for a comfortable stay on the north shore. (AC would be nice but, to my knowledge, none of the units at Pali Ke Kua offer it as the old-school, early 1970s buildings are not set up for it.)

So I was nervous trying Kauai and not knowing what type of place we'd get. Turns out we struck gold on the first try. This is a great location and prices are reasonable. Two minor complaints: 1) beach access is relatively far away (our Maui location is literally on the beach, so hard to compete); and 2) it is TERRIBLY inconvenient to have us return the keys to the rental office as opposed to just leaving in the unit--when you're trying to rush out and catch a flight home, you're not wanting to run errands beforehand. Regardless, we'd return here.

We have also stayed in 2 other Pali Ke Kua units operated by KVR that face the ocean here, but this one has the best view. There is no A/C, but being from Florida, we find Hawaii to be much cooler anyway, sometimes even cold, but those from northern climes may have trouble with the temps, especially in summer. The beach access walkway has absolutely stunning views and the few people you come across down there on the beach make it somewhat surreal considering the normally crowded beaches elsewhere on the island. We will definitely be back.
