Mountain Escape at Mad Peak Lodging, sleeps up to six

The Mountain Escape at Mad Peak Lodging offers a super convenient place to stay year round where you can experience the beautiful Black Hills with easy access to a primary highway, yet nestled into the quiet hillside of a gorgeous forest. The private entrance at the top of the steps can be secured as you wish and you are free to come and go at your leisure. The rear deck offers a relaxing view of the national forest.

*None of this lodging space is shared*

The main area provides seating for at least 10 persons with a counter and stools combining the kitchen with the dining area and main living room area. There is a king bed and one of the couches is a queen sofa sleeper in the area with a separate bedroom with another king bed. Extra bedding is located in the closet in the bedroom.

The kitchen has most of the basic kitchenware/cookware/dining ware that may be needed to grill or cook. There are a few staples in the cupboard and fridge for your use.

Check-in is any time after 4pm the day of your scheduled arrival. Check-out time is any time before 11am, mountain time.

It is not necessary to meet anyone to obtain access or keys and allows you the freedom to depart according to your travel schedule. This unit has an electronic deadbolt with an access code. The code will be sent along with the check-in details.

Located near Lead/Deadwood with easy access to Sturgis (30min), Spearfish (30min), Rapid City (45min), Mt Rushmore (60min), and Crazy Horse (80min), to name a few.

Parking is directly at the base of the stairs to the apartment which can accommodate up to two vehicles and/or trailers. Additional parking is at the southern end of the property.

Visit our Mad-Peak website to book your UTV rentals, call us to get a UTV rental discount for staying with us, or you are welcome to bring your own recreational machine, UTV or snowmobile. Mad Peak Lodging is located in the heart of the Black Hills forest with easy access to the many miles of UTV/Jeep trails for outdoor adventures and, in the winter, located right on snowmobile trail #7 which connects to over 350 miles of snowmobiling fun!

Upon departure, take out the trash, start any dishes, and lock the deadbolt.

**** GREAT LOCATION FOR SNOWMOBILING**** Mad Peak is right on Trail #7; the trail actually goes right over the driveway. We have plenty of room for parking trailers. Don't have a sled? There are snowmobile rentals around just south of the location around the corner. We get a lot of snow and the State maintains 350+ miles of groomed trails.....Come Enjoy Winter With Us!!

Perfect location and accommodations for our snowmobile trip!

One of the best places to stay in the Black Hills. My husband, kids and I have stayed at many different locations in the area. Mountain Escape is our favorite. The location is perfect. Beautiful spot just a few miles outside of Deadwood, right on the snowmobile trails, and right next to the gas station to fuel up. The cabin is perfectly set up for our family. Plenty of sleeping spaces, an abundance of towels, very clean, and graciously stocked with snacks and bottles of water. The hosts are always easy to get a hold of and extremely accommodating. We had an amazing family vacation over Christmas break and are heading back this weekend for another great trip! Thank you Tim and Dawn for sharing your little piece of paradise with us!

Great vacation

We had a great time relaxing after skiing in this cozy home away from home. There was a Christmas tree with lights to make Christmas feel a little more like home. Beds were comfy, the home was clean and the owners added a little extra with a basket of goodies and extra bathroom supplies. We would recommend this home for a quiet getaway.

A fantastic home away from home!

Everything we needed all in one place. Extremely clean, had everything you could ever need, perfect location. Not one single complaint. 7 miles from grocery store (Deadwood/Lead), open concept, nice little back porch for a morning coffee, super soft bedding, snacks in kitchen, large bathroom. You name it, they had it! I talked with the owner a couple times, very friendly and inviting. WORTH THE STAY!

Beautiful place

Great location, very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The only issue is that the water has alot of iron in it, you can smell it, and now my blonde hair is orange! Other than that the place is perfect.

Black Hills Getaway

This was an excellent location for our black hills trip. After 2 nights in a Rapid City hotel and dealing with the hustle and bustle it was relaxing to finally check-in at our lodge. It was very clean and in a great location for seeing the sights in and around Lead and Deadwood.

Funny thing, when we added our garages onto the family home, I asked for a small storage area for Christmas decorations. Little did I know this tiny request would turn into a gorgeous living space from dh's imagination. I hope you enjoy it!

Since I live in my little piece of heaven, I enjoy sharing the Black Hills with our many guests. There are so many options for entertainment and outdoor activities in the area that is it hard to know where to start. From hiking and visiting Mt. Rushmore, to snow adventures and ATVing, to water play and fishing, picnicking and exploring water falls, to gaming and live shows, wine tasting and dining, the list goes on.

Come on over to one of the best areas to enjoy, the beautiful Black Hills!

What makes this property unique

Come enjoy the Mountain Escape with direct access to state highway 385. This unit is centrally located between most of the Black Hills main attractions; not far from Spearfish and Sturgis, located just south of Deadwood/Lead and north of Mt. Rushmore, Custer, and Hill City. The Mountain Escape can accommodate two vehicles in the designated parking spots, and has a large parking area for large vehicles and trailers at the other end of the property.
