Please Note: Kona Hale is a 2 story home with each floor completely autonomous from one another, including a private front entrance leading into each floor. This listing is for the Garden level floor, located on the lower story. The home is elevated enough that both stories have a stunning view! This property was great!Highlights:-Super clean-Updated appliances and recently remodeled throughout -breathtaking views, feels like you’re truly in the tropics!Considerations:-there is no a/c so it can get warm/humid inside-you will hear the upstairs neighbors walking and potentially even talking, music, tv, etc. Just be prepared for this -bathroom could use a vent to mitigate the humidity level I’m still giving this property a high star rating because it was everything we needed for the price and would stay there again.

Excellent place to stay very convenient and extremely well equipped! Kitchen bathroom had everything we needed! Great views!! We stayed in the lower unit and the only issue would be is when the upstairs neighbors are even slightly walking around it’s loud downstairs in this unit. So as long as your on the same schedule as you neighbors you’ll be fine. Without a doubt we would rent this again just would request the upper unit. The host was amazing and calls or messages were responded to immediately.

The place is large, airy, and bright, with a large porch (with swing seat!) offering spectacular views of the Kona coast. Inspire of some unforeseen circumstances, the host made every efforts to communicate with us and to arrange alternate help to have the place ready for us. The apartment is close to the airport as well as the only Costco store on the island. Enjoyed our stay!

We had a lovely stay, the property is beautiful and very clean! Stunning views of the ocean and the laundry room was a massive bonus, especially as it is kitted out of its body boards, snorkeling gear, beach chairs etc! A great stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back. Just an FYI, the toaster could do with being replaced but no complaints from us at all. Thanks for having us.

We had a fantastic experience staying at this home. It truly made the vacation. The space very clean, well appointed, and equipped with everything needed to make the stay easier. It also had a variety of recreational items that made going to the beach or anywhere on the island stress-free. All of that, combined with the views from the porch and the quiet neighborhood made the stay both cozy and relaxing. The photos of the space accurately reflect how amazing it is, and we felt it was a rare find among vacation homes. Can’t wait to come back sometime in the future.

Amazing stay

We had a wonderful stay here! I was a little nervous about no AC but being up the mountain it was beautiful. When we lost power for a short time they immediately reached out to us to keep us informed. If I’m ever back on the big island again I will definitely stay here again. My nephew loved our friendly balcony geckos.

Why they chose this property

When I first moved to Kona (over 40 years ago) I got a place right on the beach . . . but I could NOT take the intense heat, so I've lived "Up Mauka" at a cooler elevation ever since.
Love the beach - but also love having a cool and comfy retreat (from the sticky heat) to come home to. It's much more pleasant to relax in the cool and comfy as opposed to the hot and sticky. And EVERYTHING is literally minutes away. The best of both worlds!

What makes this property unique

NOT a stifling Condo in hot and humid areas of Kona where you need air-conditioning! RATHER, Kona Hale is located in Mauka Kona where cool ocean and mountain breezes flow through the spacious home. You have use of our Boogie Boards, Snorkels, Masks and Fins, Beach Towels and Chairs. A local convenience market with adjacent restaurant is only 1 mile away.
