We enjoyed our stay in the sweet beach cottage and especially the easy and short walk to the beach. The upstairs bunk room was great for children. We would definitely rent this simple cottage again.
My husband and I had the perfect week in this sweet cottage. It was very clean, perfectly set up and left us wanting for nothing!
We would definitely stay here again.
My family and I rented this for 3 nights and 4 days and it was perfect. Close walk to the beach and to a couple other places if needed. My husband and I would definitely rent this place again.

A beautiful weekend in a cozy homey cottage
Once again we had a wonderful stay at the beach house! Thank you so much for making us feel at home in your home! Hope to see you next year!
Cottage is even better in person! Very cute and such a great location. Shelia responded to any concerns we had quickly. Definitely would like to rent again next year!
We often rent beach houses at Scarborough beach, and this one is definitely my all time favorite. My prerequisites for any house in this area are walk to the beach, and air conditioning. This house fit The bill.
The home is quaint and cozy, but immaculate and adequately stocked for a great vacation. The new washer and dryer are a great addition. My family will be returning.
Great location, hot shower, comfy beds, clean beach house, sm back porch with some privacy.
Futons need to tossed into the garage, extremely uncomfortable.
I tolerated the neighbor working (putting up shingles) (nail gun and table saw) on his house all day long Saturday, but when he started again on early Sunday morning, I was upset. Not very neighborly.
That really ruined my Sunday morning quiet coffee on the porch at the beach theme for me.
Thank you
Gisele
Everything was great . Our family had a really nice time. The only thing I would recommend to the owner is when they mow the lawn to bag the grass. Because, the grass easily comes in the back door. It was a constant battle. Also, maybe a little rug at that door to catch some of the grass.
But, the stay was great, location was spot on. And my family enjoyed ourselves.! 100% 😊
Great location with quick 4 min walk to beach. cute house with some areas upgraded. living room space was nice tv was a bit small and futon coaches less comfortable. only one inside air conditioner on first floor so never got very cool. one inside air conditioner in dormer space . bedroom were acceptable mattress was super soft . kitchen is quite outdated and while surface items were clean it needs a good deep cleaning by cabinet space .there are two bedrooms on first floor with queen beds. barhroom was ok with some unsightly caulking repairs in the tub and toilet also needed a more thorough cleaning . nice washer and dryer access and an outside shower was super nice . i don’t think listing mentioned the need to bring linens . host was on sight and friendly and provided some detergent .
This property was the perfect place for our family getaway (for me, my husband and our 13, 11 and 8 year old children). The home is deceptively spacious and I cannot express how thrilled I was when I discovered a washer and dryer upon entry!! (It wasn't listed in the description, and I almost didn't rent because of it! It should definitely be listed as an amenity! We used it a couple of times during our stay!).
The home was very clean and we lacked for nothing (plenty of paper goods, kitchen items, toiletries if needed). The two window air conditioners cooled the home well, though with its proximity to the beach, we had a nice breeze the entire time we were there. The home has five queen beds, with three of them in the "upstairs loft" which our children claimed immediately! They were also happy to find a little TV in there when it was time to wind down for bed.
The house is literally a stone's throw from Scarborough Beach, where we walked each day and just 30 minutes or so to Newport, which was the main reason for our stay in Rhode Island. We drove there probably five days out of seven. Also within a few minutes driving distance of a grocery store, restaurants and a mini golf place where we spent one evening.
And, the best part is? Sheila made it AFFORDABLE. Looking near or in Newport, we found ourselves being priced out (Newport apparently a playground for the affluent). This price (for a super cute, clean and spacious beachy cottage) with its short drive to Newport and view of the ocean from its front yard? You're not going to find a better deal, especially for families looking for a nice vacation on a tighter budget. Bonus: Sheila didn't hound us. I know some VRBO owners will come by (that happened to us up in Maine) but honestly, it's nice to feel like you're not under the home owner's thumb.
Great place--would visit again in a heartbeat! Thank you, Sheila!
We took our family of 4 to RI for a week. Shelia was very nice and communicative. The weather was perfect and it was an easy 5 minute walk to the best beach in the area (bathrooms, food, etc.). The outdoor shower was a must coming back from a sandy day at the ocean! The kitchen is definitely old and musty. If that bothers you, look elsewhere. If we had to be cooped up all day it would have bothered us more, but we were really only in the house to sleep. We ate most meals on the outdoor patio that provided privacy from the main street. There was also a significant bug problem upstairs that should be looked into. The kitchen was missing baking sheets and scissors but we got by. I would stay here again.
This was our second time staying in this great gem in walking distance to the beach. The cottage is well cared for and is in the perfect location for a week away at the beach on a budget.
This cozy house was an easy 5 min walk to Scarborough, even with our 4 and 6 year olds. House was very clean and cozy. Neighborhood was quiet, even on 4th of July. Kids LOVED the loft area. Washer, dryer, and outdoor shower were great amenities. Sheila was extremely responsive and helpful. Would definitely recommend staying here!
Location was perfect. A short walk to the beach, a short drive to the ferry port and short drive to Newport. We hope to be able to come back next year.
We stayed here with our family of 5 (kids ages 12, 10, and 7). Loved the easy walk to the beach and the perfect location for visiting Newport, Mystic (CT), and just being in Narragansett.
Our younger kids loved the upstairs bedroom area, and the two bedrooms downstairs were prefect for the older one and us.
The owner was a pleasure to work with and quick to answer any questions. Highly recommend - we will definitely be back if it is available the next time we are town! Thank you for making this an affordable option for families in a beautiful place.
My family and I stayed in this wonderful cottage close to the beach. The close proximity to the beach was amazing. I loved grabbing a cup of coffee and walking up to the ocean to drink it.
My kids took over the upstairs room with multiple beds and did not come down except to eat and go to the beach.
Beds were comfortable. I slept great every night.
We enjoyed watching the surfers at Judith Point, dinner at George’s, a ferry ride to Block Island and more….
When everyone is downstairs, it can be tight quarters. Patience is a virtue.
Thank you for a great vacation at a reasonable cost.
